Chapter 325 - 324: New Pokemons to the Family
Chapter 325: Chapter 324: New Pokemons to the Family
Ash and his harem continued their journey toward Violet City, the location of their first Johto League Gym Challenge for both Ash and Giselle. The group walked along a scenic forest route, enjoying the fresh air and each other’s company. Melody was particularly happy, frequently interacting with her new Shiny Chikorita, who was slowly growing more comfortable with the team.
Pikachu, Eevee, and Togepi were doing their best to include the shy Shiny Chikorita in their little gang. Pikachu would occasionally nudge him playfully, while Eevee showed him interesting plants and berries along the path.
Togepi toddled around happily, trying to get the new member to play.
Melody watched them with a soft smile.
"Look at them trying so hard. Chikorita is still a bit shy, but I think he’s warming up."
Ash nodded, walking beside her. "He’ll be part of the family in no time. You’re doing great with him, Melody."
The girls took turns chatting with Ash as they walked. Misty held his arm on one side, while Giselle held the other, calling him "Master" softly whenever she wanted his attention. Sabrina walked gracefully nearby, occasionally sharing quiet observations about the local Pokémon. Erika and Daisy pointed out interesting plants and flowers, and the whole group felt a warm, joyful bond as they traveled together.
After some time, they stopped in the middle of a dense forest area. Something unusual caught their attention several large trees were completely stripped of their leaves, yet showed no other signs of damage like broken branches or bite marks.
"That’s strange," Ash muttered. "The leaves are gone, but the trees don’t look damaged otherwise."
Pikachu and Eevee suddenly perked up, spotting movement on a healthy tree trunk nearby. A horde of unknown Pokémon was clamped onto the bark. They had sturdy, beetle-like bodies with large horns.
Ash quickly scanned them with his Pokédex.
Heracross, the Single Horn Pokémon. This Pokémon is docile and possesses great strength. Its favorite food is the sap of trees.
The girls gathered around curiously.
Misty tilted her head. "They look strong but peaceful."
Sabrina observed quietly. "They seem to be feeding on the tree sap."
Suddenly, a calm voice spoke from behind them. "They are peace-loving Pokémon. It’s best not to disturb them if you’re trying to catch Pokémon in this area."
The group turned to see a man in a forest ranger uniform approaching. He had a kind face and carried a walking stick.
Ash smiled politely. "Hello. I’m Ash, and these are my wives Misty, Sabrina, Giselle, Daisy, Erika, and Melody."
The man nodded. "Nice to meet all of you. I’m Woodruff, a forest ranger here. Those Heracross are important to the forest’s natural balance. They share a commensalistic relationship with the local Butterfree population. The Butterfree are too weak to break into the tree trunks themselves, so the stronger Heracross dig in to start the sap flow. They eat their fill and then let the Butterfree feed."
Misty and Giselle looked concerned.
Misty asked, "But won’t they hurt the trees?"
Giselle added softly, "Master, are the trees going to be okay?"
Woodruff smiled reassuringly. "Normally, no. They maintain a healthy balance. But recently, invaders have broken that balance."
Just then, a loud rumbling sound echoed through the forest. A large herd of Pinsir stampeded toward the tree. The aggressive Bug Pokémon leaped onto the trunk, scaring away the Butterfree and aggressively competing with the Heracross for the sap.
Woodruff’s expression turned serious.
"Those are the invaders. The Pinsir are disrupting the natural order here."
Ash and his group watched the chaotic scene unfold, realizing they had stumbled upon a delicate ecological situation in the forest.
Melody couldn’t stand by any longer. She stepped forward and yelled at the aggressive Pinsir, "Hey! Leave the other Pokémon alone! You’re ruining the balance here!"
Misty and Giselle joined in, demanding action. "Heracross, do something!" Misty shouted.
"Master, they need help!" Giselle added, looking worried.
In unison, several Heracross flew up and attacked the invading Pinsir. Erika and Daisy cheered them on enthusiastically. "Go, Heracross!" Erika called.
"You can do it!" Daisy encouraged.
However, the peaceful Heracross were no match for the Pinsir’s massive, spiked pincers. They were easily scared off and flew away in fear. Woodruff shook his head sadly.
"The Heracross are too peaceful. They have no desire to fight the Pinsir. This is why the balance is breaking."
Ash’s expression turned serious. "If the Heracross don’t do something, this forest will surely be destroyed."
Just then, a system notification appeared only for Ash:
Ding!
Mission: Restore the Forest Ecosystem
Description: Solve the territory dispute between Pinsir and Heracross. Defeat the Ursaring that is invading Pinsir territory and restore balance.
Reward: Peat Block, Gold Potential Enhancer.
Ash mentally connected the dots. So the Pinsir are invading because an Ursaring is pushing them out of their own territory... That makes sense.
Sabrina suddenly noticed something. "Look! There’s still a Butterfree trapped in the branches."
A single brave Heracross popped up in front of the Pinsir to defend the Butterfree. It was quickly attacked by their giant pincers. Erika, upset at the unfair fight, sent out her Tangrowth.
"Tangrowth, use Vine Whip!"
One powerful Vine Whip attack swept through and took out all the Pinsir in one go.
The Butterfree was freed and flew away gratefully, but the defending Heracross was too tired to follow.
The Pinsir regrouped and began ascending the tree trunk again. Ash quickly commanded, "Pikachu, Eevee let’s help! Eevee, Transform into Jolteon!"
Eevee transformed into a Jolteon and, together with Pikachu, unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt. The electric attack struck the Pinsir hard, forcing them to retreat once more. The Heracross watched in awe as Ash and his Pokémon defended them.
Woodruff looked worried. "The Pinsir will probably return. They live on the opposite side of the river, but something has been causing them to cross over and invade the Heracross territory. It’s very unusual behavior."
Ash and his wives exchanged determined looks. Misty spoke first, "We can’t just leave the forest like this."
Giselle nodded. "Master, let’s help restore the balance."
Erika, Daisy, Sabrina, and Melody all agreed. Ash turned to Woodruff. "We’ll help you save the forest."
Woodruff looked relieved and grateful. "Thank you. Follow me I’ll lead you toward the Pinsir territory."
The group began moving deeper into the forest, ready to solve the ecological crisis and bring peace back to the woods.
Once they were out of the dense woods, the group approached a deep gorge with a river running through it. Woodruff pointed toward a rope bridge he usually used to cross.
However, the bridge was completely down, with the ropes severed.
Giselle peered into the gorge and spotted the Pinsir jumping along tree branches to cross.
"They’re using the trees as bridges..."
Melody frowned. "The Pinsir must have cut the ropes!"
Woodruff inspected the severed ends carefully. "The cut looks too clean. This was done by a powerful Pokémon, not the Pinsir themselves."
Intrigued, the group began pondering how to cross the gorge safely. Suddenly, they heard a rustling sound. The brave Heracross that had protected the Butterfree earlier was pushing hard against a tall tree.
Misty and the girls began fussing. "Hey, what are you doing?!" Misty called out.
Ash raised his hand, stopping them. "Wait... he’s trying to push the tree over to make a bridge."
The group quickly jumped out of the way as the tree came crashing down with a loud thud, landing neatly across the gorge and creating a natural bridge.
Ash smiled at the Heracross. "Thanks for the help."
The group successfully crossed the river with Heracross following at a respectful distance. They entered the Pinsir territory, where the atmosphere felt heavier and more aggressive.
As they moved deeper, they noticed a powerful bear-like Pokémon scratching a tree and happily drinking the nectar flowing from it. Woodruff’s eyes widened in realization.
"That’s an Ursaring... Now I understand why the Pinsir invaded the Heracross territory. This Ursaring seems intelligent enough to have driven them out."
Ash stepped forward confidently. "Then we’ll solve this at the source." He looked at the Ursaring. "Hey! I challenge you!"
The Ursaring grunted and nodded, accepting the battle with a fierce glare.
Ash released his Arcanine. "Arcanine, let’s show him what we’ve got! Start with Flamethrower!"
Arcanine roared and unleashed a powerful stream of fire. The Ursaring countered with Hammer Arm, smashing the ground and creating shockwaves, but Arcanine dodged nimbly and followed up with Extreme Speed, slamming into the bear with tremendous force.
The battle was intense and entertaining. Ursaring used Slash and Thrash, landing heavy hits that pushed Arcanine back, but Ash’s loyal Pokémon countered with Fire Fang and Wild Charge, combining fire and electric power in spectacular displays. The forest echoed with their roars and the clash of powerful moves.
After a hard-fought battle, Arcanine delivered the final blow with a boosted Flare Blitz, knocking Ursaring out.
Ash threw a Poké Ball. "You’re coming with me!" The ball shook once, twice, three times... and clicked. Ash had caught his first Johto Pokémon Ursaring.
Woodruff let out a relieved sigh. "Thank you, Ash. Now that the Ursaring is gone, the Pinsir should return to their original habitat."
Ding!
Mission Complete: Restore the Forest Ecosystem
Rewards: Peat Block, Gold Potential Enhancer.
Ash and his harem continued their journey, now being followed by the brave Heracross and a Butterfree that had joined them. Ash turned to the Heracross. "Do you want to come with us?"
Heracross nodded firmly. Ash smiled and tossed a Poké Ball, successfully catching the powerful Bug-type.
Butterfree fluttered around Erika happily. She laughed and caught it gently. "Would you like to join me?"
The Butterfree nodded, and Erika caught her new Pokémon with joy.
With two new additions to the family, Ash and his wives continued their travel toward Violet City, their bonds stronger and their team growing.
