Chapter 982: Chapter 1199: Share The Burden

Zeraora, the Electric-type Mythical Pokémon, was one of those rare Pokémon that was both cool-looking and incredibly powerful. Sightings of it were extremely few.

However, in Anglia, a Trainer had once gained a Zeraora's favor, becoming the first person in the world to catch one.

At the time, Anglia had heavily publicized the event, boasting far and wide about just how extraordinary their Trainer was to be chosen by a Zeraora.

Now, that trainer had reached the Pseudo-Champion level and was regarded as the most likely candidate to become the nation's third Champion. Naturally, Zeraora was his ace.

This was Julian's first time seeing a Zeraora in person, and it looked exactly the same as it did in pictures and videos—truly very handsome.

In some ways, it even resembled Lucario a bit.

If Lucario could be described as a bipedal dog, then Zeraora was like a bipedal cat.

Zeraora was sprinting swiftly through the forest—not doing parkour, but because it was being chased by three Scyther and two Scizor.

The three Scyther were at early-stage Elite-level, while the two Scizor were at the late-stage. And Zeraora itself was only a mid-stage Elite.

Scizor were known for their speed, and they also outranked Zeraora in level, yet they still hadn't caught up to it. That could only mean this particular Zeraora had an exceptional natural talent for speed.

However, the gap wasn't huge—being caught was only a matter of time.

"I wonder what it did to make these Scizor and Scyther chase after it like this," Julian said curiously.

For five Elite-level Pokémon to be hunting it down, whatever it had done must have been quite serious.

'It couldn't be that it peeked at a Scizor's mate bathing or something… right?'

Julian thought mischievously.

He had Moltres follow them quietly. With Moltres's strength, unless it deliberately revealed itself, there was no way they would notice.

After about half an hour of pursuit, Zeraora's stamina began to run out, and its speed gradually dropped.

At this point, it had already shaken off the three Scyther.

But the two Scizor were impossible to shake off.

In terms of stamina, the Scizor clearly had the advantage over Zeraora.

It couldn't keep going like this. Even if it ran until its stamina was completely drained, it still wouldn't be able to shake those two off.

Zeraora was clearly well aware of its current predicament—if it just kept running, there would be no way out.

So—

Plasma Fists!

Zeraora suddenly stopped, turned sharply, and its left fist became covered in lightning.

At a glance, it looked similar to Thunder Punch, but the longer arcs of electricity and the writhing electric currents made it clear—that this wasn't Thunder Punch.

This was the far more powerful Plasma Fists.

The Scizor had never expected that the Zeraora, who had been fleeing the whole time, would suddenly turn around and counterattack. The two of them had been chasing side by side.

Caught completely off guard, the Scizor on the left took the full brunt of Plasma Fist. Despite being of a higher level than Zeraora, the savage arcs of electricity and the immense force behind the punch sent it flying thousands of meters away.

It crashed through countless trees and boulders along the way.

Plasma Fists was Zeraora's signature move, much like Melmetal's Double Iron Bash. But purely in terms of the name, Plasma Fists definitely had a much cooler ring to it—Double Iron Bash sounded a bit plain in comparison.

After knocking one Scizor away with a surprise attack, Zeraora immediately turned its attention to the other.

It had to defeat this one before the other returned, or at the very least, it needed to deal significant damage to it.

In a one-on-one fight, even though its level was lower, Zeraora was confident it could win. But if the two Scizor teamed up against it, victory would be impossible—and even its chances of survival would be slim.

It launched another Plasma Fists at the remaining Scizor.

But this time, having witnessed its companion being sent flying, the Scizor was already on high alert.

Facing Zeraora's attack, Scizor's wings buzzed behind it, and its body blurred into a crimson streak of light, vanishing from the spot in an instant.

Reappearing to Zeraora's left, it unleashed a barrage of silvery-white Bullet Punches that tore through the air.

Zeraora swiftly retreated, its agile frame narrowly evading the relentless hail of Bullet Punches.

"Skreee—!"

Frustrated that Bullet Punch wasn't landing, Scizor suddenly let out an earsplitting screech from its mouth.

It was Metal Sound.

Affected by the grating metallic noise, Zeraora's evasive movements stiffened for just a split second.

And—

BOOM!!

Scizor seized that fleeting moment perfectly, landing a solid punch right on Zeraora's face.

Never underestimate Pokémon that had grown to the Elite-level in the wild. Even if their opponent was a Mythical Pokémon like Zeraora, that didn't mean they were necessarily weaker.

In this world, nothing was absolute or guaranteed.

After the Bullet Punch connected with Zeraora, Scizor instantly seized the advantage. The next moment, a relentless flurry of Bullet Punches rained down on Zeraora like a torrential storm.

The blows forced Zeraora to stagger back again and again.

Watching from above, Julian remarked calmly, "That Zeraora must have already been in a fight earlier. The power of that Plasma Fists just now was a bit lacking—its internal electric energy reserves are probably running low."

Zeraora differed from most Electric-type Pokémon.

Most Electric-types had organs inside their bodies that generated electricity, meaning they could produce their own electrical energy.

Some could even generate their own power while simultaneously absorbing electricity from external sources.

Zeraora, however, could only absorb electricity. It drew in electrical energy from the environment and stored it within its body. Coupled with its Volt Absorb ability, it surpassed the vast majority of Pokémon when it came to absorbing Electric-type energy.

And judging from that Plasma Fists it had used earlier, it wasn't hard to tell that Zeraora's own energy reserves were already running low. Otherwise, that punch should have been enough to leave that Scizor seriously injured.

Instead, although it did deal damage, it was nowhere near severe—and the other Scizor was already on its way back.

Zeraora was already at a disadvantage, and if the second Scizor returned, its situation would become even more dangerous.

"Tres~"

Moltres: "A Pokémon this weak isn't worth watching. Let's just go."

Its Trainer already had more than enough members in his little harem. And this Zeraora was so handsome—almost on par with Lucario. It absolutely couldn't allow yet another rival to join the ranks.

Julian could easily see through Moltres's little thoughts.

He rolled his eyes and said, "Don't you think it'd be nice to have it carry the grocery baskets alongside Lucario for Slowking and Love?"

"Help share Lucario's burden a bit."
