Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 983: Chapter 1200: Wanderer

Chapter 983: Chapter 1200: Wanderer

Letting a Mythical Pokémon carry grocery baskets—the Poké Ball at Julian's waist containing Slowking had already started shaking, clearly showing approval of this idea.

If Zeraora joined the team, then it and Lucario could carry even more groceries.

Of course, Moltres wasn't fooled by Julian—but there was nothing it could do. It already knew that the "harem" was about to gain another member. If it had known earlier, it wouldn't have pointed Zeraora out.

But on second thought, it realized that this didn't really affect it much. After all, it was a Champion-level Pokémon—an absolute mainstay.

This Zeraora was only at the Elite-level. Forget challenging its position—it couldn't even shake that "dumb dog's" spot.

"Metagross, give it a bolt of lightning."

Seeing that Zeraora was clearly low on electricity and had stopped using Electric-type moves, switching instead to Fighting-type moves—which were definitely weaker for a pure Electric-type like it—Julian said to Metagross.

"Meta~"

Metagross nodded, and a moment later, a Thunderbolt shot downward toward Zeraora. Of course, the power was carefully controlled; otherwise, with Metagross's strength, that Thunderbolt would have been enough to reduce Zeraora to ashes.

A sudden clap of thunder split the calm air. The Scizor sensed the danger from above and immediately retreated, while Zeraora, realized a bolt of lightning was descending straight toward it.

Although it had no idea why lightning would strike from such a clear sky, this bolt was exactly what it desperately needed right now.

It launched its body straight upward to meet it.

"Zera—!"

Bathed in the raging current, every cell in Zeraora's body absorbed the electricity with full force. Yet even with its Volt Absorb ability, it found itself momentarily unable to drain the bolt completely.

A tearing sensation rippled through its cells—the result of the lightning's overwhelming, violent intensity.

"Zeraora!!"

Zeraora let out a cry of pain, but within that sound was an unyielding, indomitable will.

Not far away, Scizor keenly sensed that Zeraora's aura was rising within the lightning. It immediately realized that its opponent was absorbing the electricity to empower itself.

Raising both pincers, it gathered a golden glow of energy—and the next second, a Hyper Beam shot forth.

It intended to interrupt Zeraora's absorption.

Unfortunately, its reaction came a moment too late. If it had realized what Zeraora was doing from the very start, the Hyper Beam might indeed have succeeded in interrupting it.

But now—it was already too late.

By the time the Hyper Beam had traveled halfway to its target, Zeraora had already fully absorbed the lightning.

With a sharp "Zzzt—!"

Lightning flickered beneath its feet, and Zeraora vanished from the spot at a speed rivaling teleportation. Naturally, the Hyper Beam struck nothing but empty air.

"Zor!"

Relying purely on instinct, Scizor immediately threw a Bullet Punch toward its rear—but it found nothing.

"Zera~"

"I'm here."

Zeraora appeared right in front of Scizor, and before it could even react, Plasma Fists erupted.

The piercing shriek of electric arcs crackled like a thousand birds chirping, and the ground beneath them shattered and cracked under the relentless assault of the lightning. This—this was the true power of Plasma Fists.

BOOM!!!

Scizor's chest armor visibly caved in from the impact, and its body was blasted away like a cannonball—crashing straight into the other Scizor that had just returned.

Scizor: "...."

Carrying the second Scizor with it, the two were sent flying together.

They wouldn't die—but recovering from those injuries would take a long time.

"Zera!"

Having defeated the Scizor, Zeraora shook its arm in satisfaction, then glanced curiously toward the sky. It still couldn't understand where that bolt of lightning had come from.

But it soon found out.

As Moltres descended, Julian jumped down from its back.

"Not bad. You didn't disgrace the title of a Mythical Pokémon."

Seeing the power Zeraora had displayed after being fully recharged, Julian was quite satisfied.

---

No wonder—even when its internal electricity was nearly depleted, it was still slightly faster than Scizor. It had consumed a treasure that boosted its speed—its luck wasn't bad at all.

Zeraora was naturally extremely fast, but only when it had sufficient electricity stored within its body. Without that energy, it couldn't push its speed to the absolute limit.

Julian was quite satisfied with Zeraora's overall stats.

Mythical Pokémon and Legendary Pokémon both had a certain lower limit when it came to their stats, whereas the lower limit of ordinary Pokémon was often quite low.

"Zera?"

Zeraora: "You helped me just now, didn't you?"

It wasn't stupid—the bolt of lightning that appeared out of nowhere had clearly been deliberate. And right after it defeated the Scizor, Julian had shown up.

Clearly, it must have been him who helped.

"Mm."

Julian nodded.

"Thank you," Zeraora said gratefully.

If not for that lightning bolt replenishing its energy, the Scizor might not have killed it, but they certainly would have beaten it half to death.

"Just a 'thank you'? If it wasn't for me, you'd be in serious trouble right now," Julian said.

Zeraora thought for a moment, then said, "I'll give you my treasures."

But then it saw Julian shake his head: "I don't need your treasures. If you really want to thank me, then become my Pokémon."

"Zera!"

Zeraora shook its head firmly: "Impossible. I'm a wanderer, a free spirit that cannot be tied down."

Its expression was quite resolute.

"So you're asking me to use force?" Julian raised an eyebrow.

"Zera~"

Zeraora: "Even though you helped me, that's not a reason for me to become your Pokémon. And I won't lose to any of your Pokémon, anyway."

Hearing that, Julian burst out laughing.

"Tres~"

Moltres: "I haven't heard something this foolish in a long time."

Seriously? This thing actually thought it could defeat them.

Since both Moltres and Metagross were restraining their auras, Zeraora couldn't sense their true strength. In that sense, its confidence was somewhat understandable.

"Zera!"

Clearly sensing the mockery and disdain from Julian and Moltres, Zeraora grew angry.

Although its level wasn't that high—only mid-stage Elite-level—its strength was enough to defeat late-stage Elite opponents. The two Scizor earlier were proof of that.

It could even put up a fight against peak Elite opponents.

And yet now, it was being looked down upon.

Still, it wasn't foolish. The fact that it couldn't sense the strength of Metagross and Moltres could only mean one thing—they were stronger than it.
