Chapter 97: I Just Want to Give a Blessing to Love, That's All
Blaze’s thoughts were quite simple, but they were also well-founded.
[Moon God’s Curse S]
[A Curse from the moon, Cursing Werewolves to shed their nobility and greatness, transforming into Wild Beasts known as Humans.]
[Within the moonlight, grants extremely high HP and MP regeneration rates. Prayers to the moon do not Consume MP.]
Apart from its name, this was entirely a divine protection granted only to devout believers. Its Effect was on par with the Cardinal Level blessings of the Holy Cross Church.
The reason it was displayed as a Curse was likely because degrading a Silver Werewolf—an existence far stronger than a Human—into a Human could not be described as a Blessing in any way.
Blaze pondered for a moment. Rather than saying the Curse was triggered by losing one’s purity, it was more accurate to say it was triggered the moment Arcadians yearned for and obtained love. The Curse inherited through Lai Kaion’s bloodline—the moon’s Blessing—began to take Effect at that moment, turning Arcadians into Wild Beasts known as Humans.
This was originally meant to make the great Silver Blood shed its nobility and fall into a deep slumber. However, because Arcadians always maintained a Human appearance, the Silver Blood in this state was already dormant. The original shedding of nobility thus became the degradation of blood, turning the dormant Silver Blood into Filthy Blood, which consequently gave rise to an evil soul.
This also aligned with Silver King Lycan’s Memory. After all, Silver King Lycan first transformed into a Human under the Curse’s influence, and then lost her purity on that night of excitement.
These were rational deductions based on the available information.
Blaze also had a more intuitive thought. He didn’t think the moon Deities were evil existences.
When he bathed in the moonlight, all he felt was warmth and a faint sorrow. That could never be a punishment or Curse bestowed upon believers by a God. Silver King Lycan’s Memory also proved this point—the Moon God had gifted her own appearance to her believer.
If there was anything that could truly be considered a Curse, it was probably that the Moon God Cursed her believers and their descendants to gradually lose their eternity and sanctity after finding love, growing old and peacefully passing away alongside their loved ones.
“As for those Arcadians with recessive genes, they don’t have the ability to transform into Werewolves, but these materials can help them awaken.” Blaze pointed at the surrounding flowers. These were all materials used to craft the Silver Blood Secret Medicine for awakening.
“What do you Foreigners call this? A daily quest or the main storyline?”
“Th-this should be considered a resident’s commission that hides hints for racial upgrades.”
Greenland’s mouth twitched. Blaze’s reasoning made perfect sense and fit the tutorial guidelines for races with hidden Powers.
Imagine she was a complete newbie who knew nothing. She chose the Arcadians because they could transform into cool Werewolves, but upon entering the game, she found herself to be an ordinary Arcadian citizen, completely clueless about how to transform into a cool Werewolf.
At this time, friendly Arcadian residents—perhaps a newlywed couple or lovers deeply infatuated with each other—would ask her for help. Regardless, they just needed a few materials, which wouldn’t be too difficult to gather.
As a naive newbie, she would obediently accept the commission and receive a historical biography recording the great deeds of the Silver Princes. Meanwhile, the materials required for the commission would be located in the very places where the Silver Princes had fought.
Then, she would diligently collect a bunch of materials. She might even Level up during this process, complaining that she shouldn’t have chosen this race and planning to reroll her character right after finishing the commission.
In the end, when she handed the materials over to the client, the client would toss them into a big pot and brew a potion.
Ta-da! Something magical would happen—the brewed potion could actually awaken the Silver Blood!
Thinking about it this way, wasn’t there a Silver Altar in the Sacrificial Stone Forest?
Perhaps once the Skill Proficiency of [Silver Bloodline] reached a certain point, there would be a breakthrough challenge where she had to fight something. If she won, the [Silver Werewolf] Profession would advance.
“Wait? Fight something?” Greenland narrowed her eyes, and cold sweat broke out on her face.
Don’t tell me I’ll have to fight Romeo!?
Greenland chewed on her fingernails in fear. That terrifying boss with full resistances, that cheating high-speed health regeneration—on top of that, her playstyle had been completely figured out by him.
What kind of boomerang karma was this!
Greenland felt the world spinning around her. However, it wasn’t an illusion. The entire statue of the Silver Prince—no, the entire Silver Castle had begun to shake.
Outside, the Foreigners and Arcadians looked on in disbelief at the gradually collapsing castle. Was this a disaster? Was it bad news?
It was neither. It was merely the glorious history that had once been forced to gather dust finally seeing the light of day again.
The castle, like dust accumulated over years and months, was blown away by a violent gale surging from within, bringing the majestic Werewolf colossus back into the light of day.
And the ones who stirred up this violent gale were Audrey and Silver King Lycan.
Silver King Lycan’s body gradually dissipated. Her heart had long died, and her soul had long faded away. Her final blood had maintained her body, passing her Memory down to her future descendants.
Perhaps Silver King Lycan knew the answer to the Curse but simply didn’t know how to face it.
A territory completely populated by Werewolves would probably be terrifying. Would the surrounding Humans harbor hostility? Would they treat Arcadians as Monsters and crusade against them? Would the wars never end?
Would Arcadians forever be unable to mutually understand other Humans due to their appearance?
She was so clumsy, so foolish, just as she didn’t know that the Human named Lai Kaion loved her for her inner self, not her outward appearance.
Fortunately, another equally clumsy yet highly intelligent youth had taken up the heavy burden, hiding the answer until after the dust had settled.
The future of Arcadia would definitely be fraught with difficulties, but it didn’t matter. There were Foreigners here, as well as Arcadians who no longer lived in the dark.
Most importantly, there was a new Lord here.
Audrey slowly stood up. Her long hair broke free from the constraints of its hairpin and fluttered wildly, its pitch-black color dyed silver-white, while the crown on her forehead gleamed brightly.
