Chapter 1353: Chapter 439: Did You Eat That Sorghum for Nothing? (Part 3)

As he finished speaking, countless shadows suddenly emerged from the trenches that were nearly flattened by the explosions.

Behind them, an armored force with several tanks and infantry fighting vehicles charged up the hill alongside numerous Hellhound units.

A surge of indescribable fervor and sense of mission drove Clint toward the hilltop; today he had to stop these enemies here, even if it meant sacrificing his life.

As the tank’s main cannon fired the first shell toward the hilltop, the bugle for attack was already sounded.

Smoke grenades were thrown to obscure vision, infantry covered the tanks, tanks sheltered the infantry, advancing toward the hilltop with remarkable efficiency.

Even though their numbers were several times that of the Dragon Field Soldiers, nothing could stop their determination to retake the position.

The Cuban legion that had finally captured the hilltop was instantly filled with dread upon seeing this.

The two sides shelled the hilltop and the forward and rear slopes with countless artillery shells and aerial bombs, almost deafening their ears.

With the assistance of Soviet special forces, they fought tooth and nail to take down a company on the hilltop, secured the high ground, and stabilized their position only after frenzied bombardment blocked further assaults. Why did this crazy group still seem undefeated?

Major Warwick was terrified; those Soviet special forces left them on the position after breaking through the defenses, and now there was no help for him. Warwick immediately shouted into the channel

"Where’s the artillery? Why isn’t it firing? Keep firing for me!"

The artillerymen on the other side of the channel were also anxious

"The barrel is overheated; more firing will cause an explosion! And we need to relocate the position, otherwise we’ll be targeted!"

"Damn!"

Warwick couldn’t imagine what was sustaining these people in their charge toward the hilltop.

He couldn’t understand, and his subordinates certainly couldn’t understand how these newly conscripted strongmen, who lost the courage of European backing, were no match for Dragon Field Soldiers, even with overwhelming numbers and an advantageous high ground, they were swiftly overrun.

Ultimately, they could only flee down the slope in chaos, leaving behind a ground littered with corpses.

When Clint reached the top of the hill again, panting in the scorching air that could sear his lungs, he felt a sense of relief.

Regardless, the position was retaken

He endured the piercing headache, continued to command the soldiers to rebuild the position, clean up the bodies, and soon, he would have to pull some people back to apprehend those Soviets...

Just as he thought of this, a soldier beside him suddenly said

"The command headquarters has sent people who have arrived at the base of the hill."

"....."

After taking a deep breath to relax, Clint spoke with a slightly despondent tone

"Got it, I’ll go down right away."

Upon reaching the foot of the hill, Family Joy was already leaning against the car, waiting for a long time.

His Asian facial features made him look so young, yet he had an aura that commanded respect without anger.

Although they had never really met, Clint knew the man in front of him was the overall commander of the entire campaign. They could fight these battles so smoothly entirely because of him, and even the development of military equipment followed his planned route.

"Commander..."

Clint’s lips trembled, just about to speak when Family Joy raised a hand to interrupt. He glanced at the surrounding soldiers who were hesitating to speak up.

"I know what you want to say."

Family Joy stepped forward, brushed off the dust from Clint’s body, tidied up his disheveled collar, then led him up the hill

"Surely there are quite a few comrades asking you not to report the loss of the position, wanting to report it later after retaking it to ease the conversation, isn’t it?"

It’s a humiliating blow to lose a position for these soldiers who recently left Dragon Field, so it’s natural to have such thoughts.

Family Joy understood; after all, they were not regular troops tempered by years of training. But understanding aside, disobeying military orders cannot be tolerated

"Why bother with wishful thinking if you’re all going to act like this, what do they need you as a company commander for? If the position isn’t retaken, can you bear the consequences? Is it a problem that can be solved by removing your post?"

His tone was calm and friendly, yet indisputable

Clint bowed his head in shame

This once unruly brigand of the Chaotic Blade Association was now docile like a child.

"I understand, you drove here to buy me time, but fortunately, I retook the position, please revoke my post, it’s all my fault."

Family Joy nodded slightly.

"It’s good that you can recognize your mistakes, it shows you understand your errors and no longer have unrealistic expectations. Since this is the case, I will not conduct any internal organizational penalties against you; when you return to Florida, take time to reflect on your mistakes, I’ll also publicize your matter internally, be prepared mentally."

"Wha... what? Internal publicity?"

"Otherwise? This is called serving as a cautionary example."

Family Joy smiled at the surrounding Dragon Field Soldiers

"All of you, pay attention to this; this is a bad example you must never follow."

His smile seemed to possess an endless infectiousness, causing the Dragon Field Soldiers who were previously anxious about reporting suddenly to burst into laughter

"Hahaha..."

Even the gloom on the battlefield was swept away

"Alright."

Family Joy looked at the war-torn battlefield around him, remained silent for a few seconds, then patted Clint’s shoulder

"Quickly gather the bodies of the soldiers, then prepare to relocate with the troops; I estimate you won’t have to wait too long before you’ll be fighting again, adjust your mindset quickly."

"Yes!"
