Percy Jackson: The Firstborn

Chapter 130: The Fall of Lucifer

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: The Fall of Lucifer

Underworld

The stadium in the city of Lilith, capital of the Devil faction, was filled to the last seat.

The roar of thousands of devils swept through the stands while two of the most important names in the Rating Games faced each other on the field. Diehauser Belial, the number one, acclaimed by many as the Emperor, advanced with an overwhelming presence that was impossible to ignore. Standing across from him was Roygun Belphegor, the number two, a devil belonging to an extra pillar outside the main seventy-two pillars, yet someone who had still managed to make a name for herself within devil society, even if her methods were questionable. Of course, for now, that was something almost no one knew.

Putting that aside, because of the magnitude of the event, the stands were filled with devils from great houses and important figures of the Underworld. The game was also being broadcast to the entire supernatural world through the well-known Devils Net, making it one of the most watched events of the moment.

In one of the private boxes sat Zekram Bael, leader of the Great King faction, surrounded by several of his allies. His presence there surprised no one. His connection to the Belial family and his interest in maintaining the prestige of the devil aristocracy made it impossible for him to miss an event like this.

In another box, a little farther away, were Ajuka and Falbium. Seeing both Maou at a Rating Game was not common, but the importance of the match had indirectly forced them to attend, especially due to the absence of Sirzechs, Serafall, and Grayfia, who were supposedly busy with matters related to the Greek faction.

Everything seemed normal...... Until a magic circle suddenly appeared in the Maou’s box.

The conversation between Ajuka and Falbium stopped instantly. Both turned their eyes toward the circle just as Serafall and Grayfia appeared in the middle of a bluish light. The first had a tense face, with a seriousness impossible to ignore, especially for anyone who knew Serafall well enough to understand that seeing her like this, without her usual playful expression, meant bad news. Grayfia, for her part, was pale, her eyes open in a way Ajuka had never seen before.

Ajuka, being the mastermind he was, had already considered the possibility that something had gone wrong. Even so, after seeing their expressions, he slowly stood with a serious look.

"What happened?" was the only thing the Maou asked.

Serafall opened her mouth, but closed it again, not truly knowing how to explain what had happened. The Maou swallowed, clenched her fists, and looked directly into the green-haired Maou’s eyes.

"Sirzechs has..." Her voice failed for a second. "Sirzechs has disappeared."

The moment those words left the mouth of Maou Leviathan, a deathly silence fell over the box. Falbium frowned. "What do you mean disappeared?" the Maou asked, now completely alarmed. As the one in charge of the military side and the defense of the Underworld, something like this happening to Sirzechs was practically a direct attack against the Devil faction. It was a situation that required his highest attention. Not to mention that Sirzechs was the strongest living devil. The implication of what Serafall had said was complete madness.

Grayfia took a step forward, her voice cold, but clearly cracked by urgency. "It was the Greek king. We underestimated him far too much. We could not even follow his movements. He simply disappeared along with Sirzechs." She clenched her fists tightly. "The negotiations went absolutely wrong, and worst of all, we do not know how strong this man is. We cannot even feel his power."

The moment Grayfia said that, it did not take much for the news of Lucifer’s disappearance to start spreading through the highest circles of the devil upper class. Even so, before the news could spread much, the sky split in two, immediately drawing everyone’s attention, while the roar of the stands slowly died down. Diehauser and Roygun stopped in the middle of their exchange of spells, Thousands of devils, nobles, and spectators looked upward, unable to understand what the hell was happening.

Coming out of the opening, Damon himself stepped forward in the air....The Greek king observed the masses for a few seconds, his red hair moving softly around his face and a very unhappy expression fixed on everyone present. But what shocked the masses the most was not his appearance. It was what he carried in his hand.

Damon had Sirzechs Lucifer gripped by the hair..... Absolutely no one moved from their place. Everyone was trying to process the impossible sight before them. Sirzechs Lucifer himself hung like a sack of potatoes, completely unrecognizable. His face was beaten and swollen. His armor was destroyed, his body covered in wounds, and one of his wings looked as if it had been brutally torn off while the other was bent in an unnatural way. Lastly, he had lost his left arm, and blood was still dripping from the stump.

No one could believe that this was truly the symbol of the Devil faction... In the box, Grayfia froze completely, more out of fear than anything else. Serafall brought a hand to her mouth, her eyes trembling with horror.

Ajuka, on the other hand, had already processed the scene quickly. His face was bright red, and it took all of the green-haired Maou’s self-control to keep from snapping and charging at Damon right then and there.

In the box of the Great King faction, Zekram Bael remained motionless......Zekram could do many questionable things, but there was one thing the Great King never forgot: never mess with the wrong people. That was why he had never tried to act directly against Lucifer while he was still alive. He knew he would not come out of it alive. He preferred to be the great devil’s dog rather than a proud corpse.

That same instinct had kept him alive for centuries.

Unlike many arrogant nobles, Zekram had always paid attention to beings who should not be provoked, whether known or unknown. And at that moment, upon feeling the presence descending from the crack, his entire body went rigid. He would never forget that unique power, not since he first felt it during the Great War, a combination between what Zekram had long ago deduced to be chakra and divine power.

Not after hearing Lucifer’s own reports about this being who had gone toe-to-toe with Elohim, unleashing chaos destruction on a scale that few in the supernatural world could ever hope to match. Not to mention that he had been key in the sealing of the two Heavenly Dragons, information that only a few among the highest ranks truly knew.

Many did not know who that person truly was. But even without a name, the presence was the same as many years ago....

Zekram’s thoughts were interrupted by screams he recognized instantly. The silence was broken by the cry of a woman.

"Sirzechsssss!"

The voice crossed the stadium with such desperation that it snapped most devils out of their trance. From one of the noble boxes, Venelana Gremory shot into the sky without caring about anything else. Her face was filled completely with horror, and all the composure of a noble matriarch had disappeared the instant she saw the state of her son.

Damon quickly looked at the beautiful brown-haired woman, recognizing her as the Maou’s mother due to the similarities not only in her face, but also in her power.

For a moment, he thought about simply killing Sirzechs’ mother, but he dismissed the idea as quickly as it came, seeing how the devil woman approached at full speed, her aura and body surrounded by emotions like fear and desperation.

Damon threw Lucifer toward the matriarch as if he were absolutely nothing. Venelana opened her eyes wide as she extended her arms and caught her son in the air, being pushed back several meters by the force of the impact. Her body trembled as she held him, her hands quickly running over his wounds.

"Sirzechs... my son..." she murmured, her voice broken.

The Maou barely reacted. His eyes were half-open, his breathing irregular. "M-mother..." was the only thing Sirzechs could say, his voice broken and uneven.

Venelana, through tears, tried to stabilize him as much as she could with her magic, and before she could say anything more, several figures appeared in front of her.

Ajuka was the first to place himself in front of Venelana, clearly trying to preserve what little dignity his friend had left. His face remained serious, but the tension in his eyes made it clear that he was on the verge of losing his composure.

Beside him appeared Falbium, without a trace of his usual laziness. Of everyone present, he looked the angriest. Serafall and Grayfia placed themselves beside them a moment later. Roygun and Diehauser also appeared in front of Venelana, leaving the Rating Game completely forgotten. Farther back, several important nobles rose from their seats, some preparing their auras while others simply stared in horror, not knowing whether to intervene or flee. It was obvious that all of them intended to defend Lucifer.

But at the same time, everyone seemed to have forgotten something important: Damon could have killed Sirzechs at any moment if he had wanted to. If that had been his intention, he would never have thrown him toward Venelana. For his part, Zeoticus appeared beside Venelana and placed a hand on her shoulder while she held her son in her arms, crying without taking her eyes away from Sirzechs’ destroyed face.

Falbium, already tired of all of this, was the first to take a step forward. His aura rose with force, shaking the air around him. All the usual laziness on his face disappeared, replaced by an anger that few in the Underworld had ever seen. Falbium was the type of friend who might not seem like the closest one, but he was also the type of friend who became the angriest when he saw someone of his in that state.

"Why are you doing this?" Falbium asked, his voice filled with rage. "Do you have any idea what this implies? Do the Greeks want a war?"

Damon looked at the Maou from the sky with an expression that seemed to say, are you seriously asking that? Instantly, his laughter echoed throughout the stadium with absolute clarity.

"HAHAHAHA, what do you mean, why am I doing this?" the Greek god mocked. "You brought this on yourselves. Do you think you can go around the supernatural world provoking others and get away with it? Are you truly a Maou, a leader of the Underworld, or are you just a naive fool who knows nothing?" His blue eyes locked onto Falbium.

The anger in Falbium’s eyes intensified at the god’s mockery. It was obvious he was about to launch himself at him. "I will kill you," the Maou said, clenching his fists. "It does not matter who you are. It does not matter how strong you are. I will kill you for this."

Damon curled his lips upward while crossing his arms in the air. "Kill me?" he repeated mockingly. "What makes you think you have a chance against me when your leader did not?" The god tilted his head slightly, looking at Falbium as if he could not take him seriously. "Stop talking nonsense, you bald bastard."

The insult fell on Falbium like a slap across the face. But at the same time, every word from the Greek king gave the situation a new light. Those who did not understand what was happening now began to get an idea. This had not been an attack without reason...

Damon moved slowly through the air, the same way a predator observes its prey before deciding whether it is worth killing. "I will only give you one final chance," he continued, his tone losing all amusement. "Listen to my demands, apologize to me for all of this, and keep your devils away from my territory... or I will reduce this entire city to its last atom."
