Chapter 129: Damon Vs Sirzechs

Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Damon Vs Sirzechs

"I am afraid that will not be possible, Lord Damon."

The voice came from the entrance of the restaurant. Damon barely turned his head toward it, where a crimson magic circle slowly faded over the floor. A man appeared with an irritatingly kind smile, the kind Damon already hated before hearing a single word. He was dressed in something that seemed to be a combination between a tunic and armor.

Serafall opened her eyes wide. "Sirzechs..." Serafall’s murmur, though quiet, was easily heard by Damon.

"So you are Sirzechs Lucifer, huh?" Damon said, turning his body completely toward the entrance, seriousness fixed in his eyes.

Sirzechs scanned the Greek god in front of him with a kind smile. He had come because he expected Serafall to have already managed to bring the new leader of Olympus to the Underworld. He had not expected the conversation to last so long. From his point of view, the situation was simple: Damon would accept, or he would end up in a bad position politically. That was why his surprise was genuine when he arrived and found the king of Olympus standing there, openly rejecting every condition as if he did not understand the position he was in.

"A pleasure to meet you, Damon-sama," Sirzechs said, entering the restaurant with the same kind smile. A few steps behind him came Grayfia, with her serious expression and her eyes silently scanning the scene. Neither of the two devils seemed worried. They could feel Damon’s power, and although it was strong, it did not seem like anything that could truly put them in danger. At least, that was what they believed.

Damon moved his gaze between the three devils. "So this was really your plan, huh?" he said with a small smile. "Trying to seduce me and make me accept your demands without having to show your true colors. How disgusting devils turned out to be."

Grayfia did not react to the provocation. Sirzechs, on the other hand, let out a small polite laugh. "Oh, please, Lord Damon. I would not put it that way. I would rather call it a necessary conversation between leaders."

"Sure," Damon replied with complete sarcasm and mockery. "If that is what you want to say instead of having the balls to stand in front of me and say things as they are. You go in circles, dress up your threats with pretty words, and still call yourself Lucifer. At least the original Lucifer would have taken what he wanted without trying to act like a cowardly angel."

The expression on Sirzechs’ face soured a little before quickly recomposing itself, but his eyes became more serious. Internally, he wondered if this god truly knew Lucifer. From the way he spoke, it seemed like he did. "You are taking this far too personally."

Damon moved in front of Sirzechs, still several meters away. "Because obviously it is. Or do you think I am the type of leader who bends easily before some simple old fossils hiding behind a council?"

Silence fell over the room at the god’s direct mockery, a mockery aimed not only at the Devils Council, but also at Sirzechs’ inability to act like the Lucifer he claimed to be.

Grayfia, although standing beside Sirzechs, had to give the king of Olympus some credit. The truth was that she also wished that from Sirzechs sometimes. Even so, reality was different, and her duty as Lucifuge required her to remain on his side. The silver-haired woman narrowed her eyes. "I will not allow you to mock Sirzechs-sama," she said with a cold voice, moving forward before being stopped by Sirzechs.

Sirzechs, although somewhat annoyed, still wanted this to end another way instead of resorting directly to violence. "Lord Damon, I do not think you understand what you are getting into."

"No," Damon interrupted him. "You’re the ones who don’t get it."

The pressure in the restaurant increased. The three devils did not know whether the new king of Olympus was stupid or simply arrogant for not seeing the reality of his situation. The three leaned more toward the first option because of what they had investigated about the Olympian gods and their lack of activity outside their territory.

Damon took a few steps forward. "I will tell you how this is going to go. You will apologize to me for this misunderstanding, each of us will go our own way, and I will let you live in peace."

Sirzechs raised an eyebrow and let out a laugh, looking for a moment toward Grayfia as if that were absurd. "I will do no such thing. In fact, it would be better for you to retract what you said," the Maou said, raising his power while Serafall and Grayfia got on guard.

"Are you sure?" Damon asked, his expression becoming colder. "Good. I prefer it this way."

That was the last thing the god said before, in a second, time seemed to stop. Sirzechs was already in front of him, with one hand covered in demonic power moving toward the redhead’s chest. Grayfia was in the air, releasing an avalanche of spears downward, while Serafall, behind them, struck the ground with her foot and sent a wave of ice shooting toward Damon.

The reason for that sudden exchange was simple. Damon’s power had just skyrocketed, quickly surpassing ultimate-class, then Satan-class, and finally even exceeding super devil-class in a matter of seconds, to the point where they could no longer feel it.

Now the two she-devils and Sirzechs knew there were only two answers to this. One, the individual in front of them was preparing an attack that required an absurd amount of power. Or two, he had power that simply could not be measured by them. And at that moment, all three had the bad feeling that it was the second.

But before their attacks could even collide with the redhead, before the widened eyes of the two she-devils, Damon disappeared in an instant along with Sirzechs without moving a single muscle.

Time seemed to unfreeze.

Grayfia fell to the floor, lifting her gaze with fear in her eyes. Serafall, for her part, tried to understand what the hell had just happened, though she quickly recomposed herself. "Grayfia, let’s go. We have to warn Ajuka and the others urgently," the Maou shouted, snapping the silver-haired woman out of her trance as both quickly teleported to the Underworld.

XXXX

Sirzechs felt the world twist around him, similar to teleportation circles, only much faster. One second he was inside the restaurant, with his hand moving toward Damon’s chest. The next, everything vanished in a blink, replaced by what seemed to be a completely empty dimension, with nothing but a floor of dark rock.

Before the Maou could react, he was sent flying when a kick struck his abdomen. But Sirzechs was not the Maou Lucifer for nothing. He quickly recovered in the air and landed on his feet, his eyes narrowing with caution and a bit of uncertainty as his power immediately ignited around him. "Who the hell are you? Are you insane? Do you want a war between the devils and the Greeks?"

Damon was in the air, a few meters above the ground, with his hands relaxed at his sides and his red hair barely moving despite the lack of wind. "I am who I am, Sirzechs. Eventually you will find out. And about a war..." The god tilted his head slightly, his blue eyes completely cold. "Do you truly think you will leave here in one piece?"

Sirzechs gritted his teeth, not wanting to hear any more mockery from the Greek god. His crimson aura exploded outward, opening cracks in the dark stone beneath his feet. "I will show you why I am Sirzechs Lucifer," the Maou said as several spheres of destruction formed around him. Without wasting a second, he sent them forward. The attacks tore through the empty dimension, leaving trails of reddish and black light as they rushed toward Damon from every direction at great speed.

"Impressive power of destruction you have there, I will give you that," the god said calmly as he raised one hand, four fingers extended upward. A reddish-black field appeared in front of him, and the moment the spheres touched it, they dissolved into dust before Lucifer’s widened eyes.

"What the hell... impossible."

"HAHAHAHA, you truly investigated me and never thought to discover what my domains were," Damon said with a mocking smile. "I am the god of destruction, boy. I have spent years perfecting my senses and my power. Compared to me, you are barely a baby learning how to destroy matter."

Sirzechs opened his eyes wide. Had he truly been that stupid? That was the Maou’s last thought before Damon disappeared and reappeared right in front of him.

Sirzechs reacted instantly, raising a magic circle above his head when Damon appeared over him with one leg raised. The Maou’s shield formed in a flash, covered by layers of demonic power, strong enough to withstand attacks capable of erasing mountains. But, unfortunately for Sirzechs, the moment Damon’s heel touched the shield, it shattered instantly.

Sirzechs could only think, shit, when Damon’s heel struck the side of his head, sending him downward like a meteor. The ground exploded beneath the Maou, the stone breaking into a wide crater as dust and crimson sparks scattered through the air. Before the debris could settle, Sirzechs forced himself to stand, with blood already at the corner of his mouth and his power of destruction burning violently around him.

Damon landed at the edge of the crater without making a sound. "Is that all you have, Maou Lucifer? We are barely starting, and you already look exhausted."

Sirzechs wiped the blood from his lip, his expression darkening. "Do not say nonsense. You are only stronger than expected. This changes nothing. I am one of the ten strongest entities. You cannot defeat me," Lucifer shouted, his eyes turning red as a red aura completely covered him, clearly entering his true form. "Ahhhhhhh!"

"You turned out to be very naive, don’t you think? Maybe you really are a baby in the body of a man," Damon mocked, watching the devil’s transformation.

"Hmm, at least you have something up your sleeve," the god said, a little surprised by the devil’s new grotesque appearance, now completely covered by the Power of Destruction. The aura spread throughout the field, and Damon could see that, if that power had surfaced in Kuoh, Sirzechs would have destroyed the entire city with ease. It was a strong ability, especially for someone who was not used to that power the same way he was.

"Show me what you have," was the only thing Damon said before Sirzechs shot toward him, his body completely covered in crimson demonic power. His fist crossed the air directly toward Damon, but the god did not dodge. This time, he also raised his own, meeting the Maou’s blow head-on. The collision made the dimension tremble.

For the first time since the fight began, Damon stepped back a little. It was not much, barely a few steps over the dark rock, but it was enough for a spark of confidence to appear in Sirzechs’ eyes.

"I told you," Lucifer shouted, launching himself toward him again. "I am not someone you can treat like trash."

Sirzechs attacked from different angles, using his speed and the momentum of his wings to appear first on the right, then above, and then behind the Greek god. Damon dodged each blow with mastery, moving only as much as necessary, a small smile forming on his lips, slightly entertained by the Maou.

But unfortunately, that did not last long. In the middle of one of the attacks, Damon changed the rhythm. His hand passed through Sirzechs’ guard, and two fingers struck the center of the Maou’s chest.

The impact did not seem strong at first glance, but the shockwave burst behind the Maou like a cannon blast. Sirzechs opened his eyes when the air completely left his lungs. His body recoiled, but Damon was already on top of him. A short blow to the side. Another beneath the ribs. An open palm against the throat. Each attack was precise, releasing a brutal pressure that passed through the devil’s defense and struck points that even the Maou’s regeneration could not repair.

Sirzechs tried to cover himself, crossing his arms in front of his body while his Power of Destruction expanded around him. Damon responded by striking the left forearm, then the right, and the shockwaves forced the Maou’s arms open against his will. Sirzechs gritted his teeth and counterattacked with a knee toward Damon’s abdomen, but the god lowered one hand, deflected the blow, and drove his elbow into his jaw.

Sirzechs’ head twisted to the side. Before he could regain his balance, Damon grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground as if he weighed nothing. The Maou tried to free himself by striking Damon’s arm with all his strength, but to his horror, it did not even move. Damon held him there, looking at him closely while the Maou clenched his teeth and kept trying to break free.

"You are strong, Gremory," Damon said coldly. "But compared to beings like me, you are still an ant. You are insecure. You need politics and threats to prove your pride." His fingers closed a little more around the devil’s neck, not giving him even a breath. "Thinking you had any chance against me was your greatest mistake."

Sirzechs screamed, releasing an explosion of destruction from his entire body. "HIAAAA!"

The force of the blast separated them for a moment. Sirzechs shot upward, opening his wings in midair while blood ran down the corner of his mouth. The wings stretched enormous and dark, covered by crimson energy that burned the space around them. With a violent flap, the Maou launched himself toward Damon again, faster than before, his body becoming a red line.

Damon lifted his gaze and barely smiled. Sirzechs attacked from above with a descending punch, but Damon received it with an open palm, squeezing his fist with force while an aura of lightning covered Lucifer. Sirzechs let out a tearing scream, feeling the pressure run through his entire arm.

Damon released him and, before he could completely fall, gave him a devastating upward blow to the stomach, folding the Maou in midair. Lucifer released a mouthful of blood, his eyes injected with rage and pain.

Sirzechs tried to take flight to escape, but Damon had already seen it coming. The god pulled him downward and kicked him directly in the knee. The joint cracked with a grotesque sound, making it clear that the devil would take some time before he could walk properly again. Sirzechs let out another scream. "Ahhhhh!"

Even so, filled with desperation, the Maou tried to show other cards, using his demonic power to influence Damon’s senses. Unfortunately for him, the Greek god’s moon mark allowed him to see through the illusions with ease. Without giving him time to try again, Damon covered his palm with compressed air and struck the Maou in the chest. The shockwave exited through Sirzechs’ back, bending one of his wings unnaturally. The devil let out a grunt of pain along with another mouthful of blood.

Damon grabbed him by the other wing and slammed him against the ground repeatedly. Lucifer’s body bounced against the stone, filling with wounds as bursts of blood marked each impact. When Damon finally planted his foot on the devil’s back and gripped one of his wings tightly, Sirzechs opened his eyes.

"Wait... don’t do it, please.—"

Damon pulled hard. Sirzechs’ scream tore through the dimension when the wing was ripped from his back in an explosion of blood. The sound of bone and flesh separating was heard with brutal clarity. Sirzechs collapsed against the ground, tears of pain escaping his eyes while he released broken whimpers. "N-no..." he murmured, crawling several meters. His shine and his power were almost completely gone, his body full of wounds and his pride completely shattered.

Damon dropped the ripped wing to the side and walked toward him without hurry.

Sirzechs tried to stand, trembling with desperation, but Damon appeared in front of his face and created a giant hammer with his power. The blow fell devastatingly over Lucifer. The shockwave sank him into the ground, opening cracks around his body. The Maou coughed blood, his fingers digging into the stone.

Damon lowered his gaze toward him. "I hope you still have much more to give, because we are not done yet," the god said with cruelty, while the only thing that could be heard in the dimension were Sirzechs’ tearing screams.
