Chen Qingdi said to them, “Let’s talk about it at the next full moon.”

“Boss, someone’s trying to steal your girl!”

Qian Laoliu said, his voice full of righteous anger.

Chen Qingdi was very curious. “Poaching what? And how did you deal with it?”

“Bai Xiaolong, the Eldest Young Master of the Lingnan Bai Family, is constantly hounding President Wang in Huacheng. Love letters, flowers, diamond rings—he’s been pulling out all the stops.”

An image of the long-haired beauty surfaced in Chen Qingdi’s mind, and he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of displeasure, though his words said otherwise.

“I have a child now; I’ve already settled down. If she’s found her true love, then just let her go.”

The two brothers exchanged a look, thinking, ‘If this were before our sister-in-law had the baby, anyone who dared to steal the boss’s girl would’ve been beaten so badly his own mother wouldn’t recognize him! What’s with him today? Has he become a model husband?’

Chen Qingdi, having bought the medicine, turned to leave, but the men blocked his path.

“If you can just swallow an insult like this, how are the brothers supposed to look at you from now on?”

Chen Qingdi snorted. “She’s not my woman. What right do I have to interfere?”

“But you’re the one who personally averted that disaster for her, weren’t you?”

Chen Qingdi clearly didn’t want to discuss it further. “My son is waiting for me. I can’t be bothered to deal with things out here.”

Qian Laoliu was still not convinced. “President Wang’s corporation only became this successful with the backing of our Medical God Island. We have deep-seated collaborations in many fields. If we just let this slide, we’ll basically be gift-wrapping it all for the Bai Family!”

“Then terminate the collaborations!”

Chen Qingdi had already opened his car door.

Qian Laoliu chased after him, saying, “President Wang is requesting your support. You can’t abandon your own woman!”

Chen Qingdi snorted. “She is my woman, and *that* is why she is my woman. If she is not my woman, then she is not my woman! Now I, too, want to know… is she?”

With that, he got into his car, SLAMMED the door, and sped back to the villa, leaving them in a cloud of dust.

The two loyal henchmen were left staring at each other. Before they could exchange a single word, Wang Meijuan’s voice came from the other end of the line.

“Does the Lord Imperial Physician have any instructions?”

Qian Laoliu replied directly, “He just said some cryptic things. I don’t get what he meant either.”

Wang Meijuan was extremely anxious. “What did he say?”

“He said, ‘You are his woman, and that is why you are his woman. If you are not his woman, then you are not his woman!’ It sounds like a tongue twister. Did you understand any of that?”

On the other end of the line, Wang Meijuan was stunned into silence.

Just then, she heard a voice from outside say, “Meijuan, come and see! Don’t these red roses smell divine?”

Wang Meijuan was already on edge. She turned and asked her secretary with a reproachful look.

“Who let him in?”

The secretary looked aggrieved. “You’re the one who personally called the front desk and instructed them that if Young Master Bai arrived, they shouldn’t bother announcing him, but just send him right up.”

Just then, the sharply dressed Eldest Young Master Bai walked in, his face glowing with delight, and presented a bouquet of flowers to Wang Meijuan.

As she spoke, she began to cough violently.

Bai Xiaolong’s hand, holding out the flowers, froze in midair. He gave an extremely awkward laugh.

He then passed the flowers to her secretary.

Wang Meijuan commanded, “Put those flowers in another room, and wash the pollen off your hands before you come back in!” As she spoke, her coughing grew even more intense.

Bai Xiaolong seemed to get the hint and retreated sheepishly.

“Since Meijuan is ill, I’ll come back another time. Please, get some rest.”

Once he was back in his car, he immediately made a phone call.

“Find out why Wang Meijuan’s attitude toward me changed so drastically. Is someone else trying to steal my girl?”

A short while later, his assistant sent over some files. The information showed that Wang Meijuan had a long-standing partnership with a pharmaceutical company and was rumored to be the company president’s woman.

However, the president didn’t visit often, which gave the impression that she was currently single.

Bai Xiaolong snorted. “Keep digging. Who is this president? Where is he from? Where does he live?”

The person on the other end of the line whispered, “That information has been classified as confidential; it’s not something an ordinary person can access. Besides, that president is known to be a recluse. We don’t have detailed files on him, though insiders say he isn’t very old.”

Bai Xiaolong snorted. “Find out which pharmaceutical company it is. I refuse to believe that with the power of the Lingnan Bai Family, I can’t crush him!”

A moment later, the information came back.

“It’s Puji Hall. The president is supposedly named Qian. They say he’s a skilled fighter, a very rough-around-the-edges kind of guy.”

Hearing this, Bai Xiaolong was immediately displeased.

“So she rejects a devastatingly handsome young master like me for some crude lout? What’s wrong with her taste? Get some men together, I want Puji Hall smashed to pieces! Then, put the word out: anyone who does business with Puji Hall is making an enemy of the Bai Family!”

His men acted swiftly on his command. They were remarkably efficient. The real president of Puji Hall was already gone, leaving only ordinary managers and employees behind.

Bai Xiaolong’s face was grim with frustration. But then he heard that Wang Meijuan was about to attend a business conference.

He bought a massive diamond ring from a jewelry store and rushed over to the venue in a flurry.

He arrived just in time to see Wang Meijuan discussing business with several young masters from Jinghai.

He quickly stepped in front of the young masters, blocking their way, and offered her the flowers he was holding.
