Chapter 499:The Lava Dragon Volcanus

Ethan didn’t know if it would work for sure, so he asked the system, and surprisingly, it said it would work.

The sudden loophole really surprised him.

“Damn… doesn’t mean he can use this.”

The Bloodline Convergence ability of danger detection and teleportation was really overpowered, and even he could feel how unnatural it was.

As soon as it detected danger, Ethan reacted without hesitation. His body blurred, and in the next instant, he appeared beside Wales and grabbed him firmly by the shoulder.

Before anyone could even process it, Ethan shot upward toward the group that had just greeted him. The air around him trembled from the sudden movement.

He landed lightly, but his gaze didn’t stay on them for long. His eyes slowly shifted and then fell on the dragon.

The  dragon slept yet it was huge, its body covered with scales but covered in flowing magma. Cracks ran across its skin, glowing bright orange, and molten lava dripped from its arms like burning blood. Its eyes burned like two small suns, and heat waves distorted the air around it.

Thankfully, it was only at the Mystic Stage, and that made him sigh in relief. Otherwise, he might be fucked up.

“You all..Stay far away…This might be a very long battle.Make sure to not get caught in the aftermath.”

“But father..Will you be alright?” Wales asked, worried.

“Come on brat. Don’t you know who your father is?” Ethan smiled, flipping his hair, then shook his hand to send them away while giving them a few set of instructions.

Then he looked back at the dragon, and his expression turned grim.

This was going to be a very tough battle, but he would not lose.

Ethan took a deep breath and stepped forward, releasing his full might. His chest rose and fell slowly, but his eyes had already turned sharp and focused.

Swoosh!

The surrounding world started to tremble as a strong pressure resonated outward. The air grew heavy, and the ground beneath his feet cracked slightly under the weight of his aura. Heat waves mixed with his energy, making the space around him distort.

For a moment, Ethan thought of using a sneak attack, but he hesitated. He wondered if it would even work.

He was not fighting humans, who always had their magic guard on and relied on technique and awareness. This was a dragon.

Dragons were a race with a strong sense of territory. If a stranger of the same kind entered its domain, it would definitely come forward to expel and drive it away without hesitation.

As soon he released his aura, what greeted him next was a horrendous scream.

A violent wave of lava suddenly shot toward Ethan. It tore through the air and slammed into him with explosive force. Ethan reacted instantly and activated his magic skill to block it, raising his arm as a faint barrier shimmered into existence. The impact still pushed him several steps back, his boots grinding against the scorched ground.

At the same time, a majestic and ancient dragon roar echoed across the land.

A super-giant red dragon, over a kilometer long, burst out from the right volcano. Its massive body tore through the smoke and ash, and molten lava slid off its scales as it rose into the sky.

Just as it appeared, the high-temperature domain it carried caused the atmosphere within hundreds of kilometers to boil like a hot pot. The air became suffocating, and even the distant ground began to crack from the heat. Its power was terrifying to the extreme.

The dragon’s massive eyes locked onto Ethan, and its voice boomed like thunder.

“Human kid you dare to disturb my sleep.”

“This is the territory of Volcanus the great.”

“Seeing your strength I am sure you belong to some great human empire.”

“While I’m still not angry, get out of here or I will burn you to dust.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the ancient red dragon Volcanus unleashed its dragon’s might without reservation. It spread out like a crushing force, pressing down on everything in the area, wanting Ethan to recognize the gap in power and then obediently leave.

SWOOSH!

A huge dragon might slam onto Ethan.

The surrounding mountains trembled violently, and cracks spread across their surfaces. Beasts in the distance shrieked in dread and horror as they ran away, while some were directly slammed unconscious by the pressure. The entire area turned chaotic under the overwhelming aura.

Ethan stood still.

“Sir Volcanus…This isn’t enough to make me step back.”

For a moment, there was silence.

Then, in Volcanus’ huge dragon eyes, raging anger flickered.

“Humans Kid, you’re asking for death.”

Without hesitation, he opened his blood-filled mouth wide, and a terrifying heat gathered within his throat. The space around his jaws began to glow dark red.

In the next instant, he unleashed a breath of fire toward Ethan.

A dark red flame spewed out, moving with incredible speed as it tore through the air. The ground beneath it melted instantly, and the rocks turned into molten lava.

As one of the signature abilities of the dragon clan, the power of dragon breath increased with the strength of the dragon. The flame breath released by a Mystic ancient red dragon was almost comparable to a high-level attack capable of annihilating an entire city. The extreme temperature alone was enough to melt everything in its path.

Feeling the terrifying power of this attack, Ethan naturally would not stubbornly withstand it.

“Let’s try this..”

His eyes narrowed slightly as he focused.

The scales behind him rapidly trembled, faint patterns glowing along his back. Ethan’s counterattack shot out and slammed into Volcanus. The impact caught the dragon slightly off guard, and its massive body shook as the attack struck its chest.

The force pushed Volcanus backward, and his enormous body crashed down into the lava pool below. Waves of molten lava surged upward from the impact.

However, due to his high resistance and strong scales, the attack caused very little damage. Within moments, Volcanus rose out of the lava again, his body dripping with molten rock as his eyes burned with fury.

“Dragon-Human..”

“ARGHHHH!”

“Which nefarious son of a bitch dared to commit this atrocity…”

“Bastard…How dare you mate with low level species…”

“ARGHHHH!”

Volcanus roared, and his body trembled violently in anger.

The lava pool around him churned and rose, reacting to his rage as the entire area shook once again.
