Chapter 535: Infiltrating the Primitive Tribe Late at Night!
The drone hovered high in the sky, its camera filming the area ahead.
The viewers saw it clearly on the live stream. Seven or eight dark-skinned local natives, armed with Crossbows and spears, were rushing straight toward Ning Fei.
Right then, one of the natives spotted the drone.
With a sharp shout, the entire group drew their bows and fired a volley of arrows directly at it!
Since the viewers were watching the stream from a first-person perspective, this scene nearly gave them a heart attack.
The arrows shot straight toward the drone.
It looked as if they were going to pierce right through the screen!
Many people were so frightened that they threw their mobile phones away.
Ning Fei noticed this as well.
'I still got discovered. This is trouble,'Ning Fei thought to himself.
The local natives fiercely rejected outsiders, as well as any high-tech equipment.
Back when the Indian Government flew helicopters down here, these natives actually dared to shoot at them with their bows.
The crazy part was that they had actually managed to drive the helicopters away.
The viewers were equally dumbfounded by the scene.
What era was this? There were actually still screaming natives charging out to attack people with bows and spears.
They were way too fierce!
The natives' shouts were already clearly audible, and Ning Fei could hear them perfectly.
He had the Language Mastery skill, so he could understand exactly what they were saying.
"Protect the sun!"
"It's an intruder! Kill the intruder!"
"No one is allowed to set foot on the holy ground!"
Ning Fei frowned slightly upon understanding their words.
It seemed these natives were religious fanatics.
This was perfectly normal. Generally, the more primitive a place was, the more distinct and intense its beliefs would be.
However, the holy ground they spoke of was likely the Maya Ruins he was heading to—the underground pyramid.
"Holy shit, the natives actually showed up!"
"With Temple Master Ning's strength, teaching them a lesson would only take a minute."
"These people won't break any laws by killing someone. It's better to hide and stay away from them."
"Their arrows and spears are coated in poison. A single scratch means death."
"This is too damn scary. Who would dare approach them?"
The viewers discussed fervently.
Ning Fei was also considering the current situation.
If a fight really broke out, even with their bows, they wouldn't pose a problem for him.
He had his own bow and arrows strapped to his back.
But he had agreed with the Indian Government not to interfere with the natives' lives.
If they fought, it would turn into an international dispute.
That would be quite troublesome.
And he had never liked trouble.
"The natives are coming. It's better to ignore them, or things will get troublesome."
Ning Fei shook his head and said quietly.
Right at that moment, a sharp arrow suddenly shot out, passing through the gaps in the trees and cutting through the air as it headed straight for Ning Fei.
Ning Fei noticed the movement, and his Danger Perception skill instantly gave off a warning.
Clearly, at least one person among the natives possessed superb archery skills.
He simply leaned to the side, easily dodging the incoming arrow.
This casual maneuver left the viewers stunned.
Immediately after, Ning Fei turned around, picked up his pace, and gracefully vanished.
These natives had lived their entire lives in the Tropical Rainforest and were extremely familiar with the area.
So they immediately fanned out to search, swearing to kill this intruder.
A hunting game was now playing out in the outdoor live stream.
Only, Ning Fei was the one playing the role of the prey.
An hour later.
Ning Fei was sitting leisurely on the grassy slope of a hill, looking down at the distant tribe and the smoke curling up from their cooking fires.
"Look, everyone. That is where the primitive tribe lives."
Ning Fei said to the camera.
The viewers were endlessly amused by this turn of events.
"Good heavens, those natives are still searching the Tropical Rainforest for Temple Master Ning, but he's already reached their nest!"
"Brothers, your base is getting raided."
"This move is pretty slick!"
"He truly is bold because of his great skill."
Shouts from the natives could still be heard echoing from the distant Tropical Rainforest. Ning Fei guessed that the forest wouldn't see a moment of peace today.
He took out some food, ate a simple meal, and then brought out his Spirit Treasure Gourd to take a few sips of water and replenish his stamina.
Ning Fei gazed at the primitive tribe.
His eyes landed on an area behind their settlement.
That area looked like an altar.
The altar was covered in complex carved patterns, and at the very end sat an eerie, massive stone head.
The location the System had pointed out was right beneath that altar.
"Everyone, look at that altar. It bears a sun motif, which looks very much like a remnant of the Maya Civilization."
"Therefore, the Maya Ruins are very likely beneath it."
"Tonight, I plan to head over to the altar and take a look."
"Maybe I'll discover something."
Ning Fei said calmly.
Although his voice was calm, the viewers watching the live stream were growing increasingly anxious.
After all, looking at the terrain, anyone trying to reach the altar would have to pass straight through the primitive tribe.
In other words, Ning Fei had to cross right through their settlement to get to his destination.
"Temple Master Ning is going to the altar tonight? Doesn't that mean he has to sneak into the primitive tribe in the dark?"
"Good lord, this is way more thrilling than a blockbuster movie!"
"He has way too much guts. I'm completely won over!"
"Is he serious? I'm so nervous."
"Nice, this is a hardcore move."
Since Ning Fei had already made up his mind, he planned to rest for a while first.
He had chosen a great spot on the reverse side of a slope—much like a reverse slope in a battle royale game. Generally speaking, as long as he didn't stand up and show off, no one would spot him.
Ning Fei set his backpack down beside him.
There would be no time to set up his tent tonight.
He simply lay on the grass, closed his eyes, and waited quietly.
Of course, he kept his attention focused on his surroundings.
If any natives approached him, he wouldn't mind playing with them for a bit.
This situation was truly heart-pounding.
Imagine being on a map in a battle royale game, hiding in an open area with a grassy slope.
You're lying prone on the ground, playing the ultimate camper.
Eight or nine people armed with bows and spears are actively hunting for you, ready to shoot on sight.
How could anyone not be terrified by such a scenario?
The natives' voices continued to drift over faintly.
The sky finally began to darken.
These natives worshipped the sun god, believing that people should only be active while the sun was out.
Therefore, as the sun began to set, the group of natives emerged from the Tropical Rainforest and hurried back to their primitive tribe.
Ning Fei waited a little longer until the sky grew completely dark.
"Due to special circumstances, I won't be able to use any lights from here on out."
"I plan to check behind the altar once it's completely pitch black."
Ning Fei said as he organized his underground exploration gear.
He hid his tent and backpack in a clump of bushes and marked the location.
However, he still carried a small waterproof bag containing several Glow Sticks for illumination.
At the same time, he kept his Longsword on him.
With the hilt of the Longsword visible, he looked quite like a chivalrous swordsman.
The viewers watched the live stream feed, every single one of them feeling incredibly tense.
They were all waiting—waiting for Ning Fei to make his move.
Exploring the primitive tribe by night.
The people of the primitive tribe would never have imagined that the outsider they were hunting would sneak right into their village under the cover of darkness.
Being discovered essentially meant death.
Looking at explorers all over the world, not a single one would dare make such a bold decision.
Yet Ning Fei remained completely calm.
The number of viewers in the live stream was also increasing rapidly.
Ning Fei's current popularity had already propelled him to the top spot on many foreign streaming platforms.
Finally, the sky turned pitch black; it was so dark one couldn't even see their own hand in front of their face.
Ning Fei made his move.
The viewers watched as a dark silhouette quietly walked toward the lightless primitive tribe.
The primitive tribe had neither lamps nor fires. The pitch-black wooden huts resembled silent sculptures, appearing exceptionally terrifying under the shroud of the night.
In that moment, all the viewers felt a knot of unbearable tension in their chests.
