Chapter 534: White Beast, Deadly Trap!

  • Next Chapter

"What is that?"

Ning Fei had just stepped off the beach and into the Tropical Rainforest when a bizarre, unbelievable sight appeared before him.

Right at the very edge of the Tropical Rainforest lay the corpse of a massive animal!

The carcass had been reduced entirely to stark white bones, though its tail remained perfectly intact. The skeleton's skull was pointing directly at the camera, sending a chill through the viewers in the livestream.

"What a terrifying skeleton! Is this place really that cursed?"

"What kind of animal is that!"

"No one has ever explored this island before. God knows what it is."

"A Tropical Rainforest completely unknown to mankind. Just thinking about it is thrilling."

The viewers discussed it feverishly.

Ning Fei walked over.

This place was incredibly eerie.

As the final destination chosen by the Maya Civilization, and a place untouched by modern humans, absolutely anything was possible in this Tropical Rainforest.

"It's the carcass of a wild buffalo. There's no telling how long it's been here."

"The skull and spine are damaged. The skull looks like it was cracked open by a heavy swipe, while the spine has bite marks—it was likely snapped right in half."

Ning Fei gave this assessment after stepping up to the bones and taking a look.

"So professional. It's a shame he isn't a vet."

"I'm just wondering what kind of terrifying animal could do this."

Ning Fei already knew the answer, so he said, "If I'm not mistaken, it should be a Bengal tiger."

"The Bengal tiger is one of the seven surviving tiger subspecies, and the second largest in size."

"It has a powerful build, loves to ambush its prey, and is incredibly ferocious."

"Furthermore, Bengal tigers have a rare variant with a white base coat and black stripes—what we commonly call a white tiger."

"Though you rarely see that kind of tiger either."

Just as Ning Fei was speaking, a tiger's roar suddenly echoed from somewhere nearby in the Tropical Rainforest.

The roar exploded like a sudden crack of thunder, blasting straight through the livestream!

Only then did the viewers truly grasp just how terrifying the king of the forest could be.

Ning Fei, on the other hand, remained calm. Looking rather intrigued, he walked straight toward the source of the roar.

This jogged the viewers' memories of Ning Fei's unique 'ability.'

"That tiger scared the crap out of me at first, but seeing Temple Master, I instantly felt a lot better."

"It's like tigers and leopards are naturally wired to listen to him."

"Yeah, it really is an unsolved mystery. I'm so jealous."

"I want to pet all the big cats in the world too!"

It wasn't long before Ning Fei ventured deep into the Tropical Rainforest.

The viewers followed the camera's gaze, and everyone gasped.

On screen lay a massive, muscular tiger three meters long, resting quietly on the ground.

The beast was packed with solid muscle, its heavy contours unmistakable. No one doubted for a second that a single swipe of its paw would kill a man on the spot.

What was more, this Bengal tiger was the rare white variant!

Watching this scene, the viewers found their breathing speeding up and their blood pressure spiking.

The tiger was the undisputed king of the forest. Even resting on the ground, it radiated such a domineering aura that the audience could feel it clearly through the screen.

"Anyone want to slide-tackle this one?"

"This one's a bit too ripped. Let's wait for the next."

"Good god, can tigers really get that huge?"

"Look at the muscles on its shoulders and forelegs! They're way bigger than any bodybuilder's!"

"Tiger strength is no joke."

The entire chat was practically vibrating with excitement.

At that moment, the white Bengal tiger heard Ning Fei's approach. Its ears twitched, and it slowly opened its eyes.

An oppressive weight immediately washed over the area.

It rose to its feet, looking even larger than an off-road vehicle.

Even with all their faith in Ning Fei, the viewers couldn't help but tense up.

"Bengal tigers once had a vast range, but due to overhunting, they are now dangerously close to extinction."

"To think there would actually be traces of white Bengal tigers surviving on a tiny place like North Sentinel Island!"

"Looking at it that way, this place really is a treasured land of feng shui."

Ning Fei said softly.

The drone captured a close-up of him.

He still looked as calm and undisturbed as ever.

Without hesitation, Ning Fei chose to activate an Animal Friendship Card.

The fierce white tiger immediately broke into a light trot toward him.

"White Bengal tigers are a genetic variant, and practically all white tigers you see on the market today are Bengal tigers."

"They are a truly rare species."

The Bengal tiger trotted right up to Ning Fei's side. He reached out and stroked its large head, and the white beast acted completely docile, even rubbing its snout affectionately against his body.

The viewers were struck speechless by this miraculous scene.

"Tamed just like that?"

"I'm starting to suspect Temple Master is the reincarnation of an ancient tiger god. Any feline is just automatically tamed."

"Highly likely."

The overseas viewers were exclaiming in absolute shock.

"Oh my god! It's happening again—the Huaxia god's special beast-taming ability!"

"He's tamed so many fierce beasts already, I really don't know how he does it!"

"He must have the power to command animals! I hope our government catches him so we can study him."

The live chat was completely chaotic.

As for Ning Fei, he simply played with the tiger for a little while before continuing deeper into the jungle.

Not long after, another tiger roar echoed from ahead.

Ning Fei's expression shifted slightly, but then he chuckled.

"There's more than one Bengal tiger on this island. That's perfectly normal."

"After all, North Sentinel Island isn't very large. If there were only one, it wouldn't be able to survive for long on its own."

"Looks like there's a whole population of them."

"Tigers prefer to live alone, so they must have their own individual territories."

This island was growing more mystical by the minute.

Ning Fei played with the white Bengal tiger for a while longer. Once he stepped out of its territory, he sent it back on its way.

He continued walking through the Tropical Rainforest alone.

Right at that moment, he felt his foot clip something that felt like a tripwire.

A split second later, two massive swooshing sounds cut through the air!

Then, an intense whistling of wind tore out from both his left and his right simultaneously.

Before the viewers could even react, Ning Fei instantly ducked and lunged backward.

Thwack! Thunk! Thunk! Thwack!

Immediately following that, the surrounding trees echoed with the sharp, stabbing impacts of flying arrows.

Ning Fei's expression barely fluctuated.

However, this sudden, lethal turn of events left the viewers completely horrified!

"Holy shit!"

The audience watched in stunned disbelief.

Nobody could have predicted that such a deadly mechanical trap would be hidden in this Tropical Rainforest!

"It's a trap! And a highly sophisticated one at that."

"It seems that even though this is a primitive tribe, their hunting skills have likely reached the absolute pinnacle. I need to be more careful."

Ning Fei said, his tone still unhurried.

Rumor had it that the tribe on North Sentinel Island had been surviving for tens of thousands of years, with around a hundred people still remaining there today.

To survive in such a harsh environment, these indigenous people definitely possessed unique, extraordinary capabilities.

Ning Fei had the Danger Perception skill, but perhaps the skill determined that these traps posed no real threat to him, so it hadn't triggered at all.

Ning Fei walked over to where the sharp arrows were embedded in the tree trunks to inspect them.

Every single one of the long arrows was coated with a dried, dark-green liquid.

"These arrows are poisoned."

"If you were hit, even if it didn't strike a vital organ, you would likely drop dead on the spot."

Ning Fei added.

Seeing this, the viewers couldn't help but gulp nervously.

"This is way too terrifying!"

"This whole place is a pure death zone."

But just then, Ning Fei spoke up again.

"It looks like this Tropical Rainforest is the primitive tribe's hunting ground."

"I have a decent understanding of wilderness hunting and forest tracking, so these traps aren't a big deal to me."

"However, with the commotion we just made, the local natives will probably be here soon."

Sure enough, right at that moment, a rustling sound echoed from deeper in the Tropical Rainforest. It sounded like a large group of people sprinting rapidly in their direction.

This new development caused the atmosphere in the livestream to abruptly tense up once again.
