Chapter 62

[Name: ORIGIN AWAKENING EGGS]

[Type: Transcendent Treasure]

[Description: Incomparably rare eggs laid by a long-forgotten ancient bird possessing unfathomable power.]

[When implanted into the body of an individual, these eggs can alter the very foundation of their talent.]

Orion’s eyes moved down the description, and then...

He stopped breathing.

[When an egg is implanted into an individual who has not yet awakened their talent, the following probabilities apply upon their awakening:]

[S-Grade Talent: 1,000,000%]

[SS-Grade Talent: 10,000%]

[SSS-Grade Talent: 100%]

[Beyond SSS-Grade: Less than 100%]

Orion sat completely still, his face so pale that he looked as though every last drop of blood had drained from his body. He continued reading, almost desperately hoping that he had misunderstood the information displayed before him, but the description continued.

[If the egg is implanted into an individual whose talent has already awakened, a Reawakening will be triggered.]

[This grants the individual an opportunity to transcend the limits of their original talent. However, the probability of awakening a higher-grade talent is reduced.]

[The probabilities are as follows:]

[S-Grade Talent: 10,000%]

[SS-Grade Talent: 1,000%]

[SSS-Grade Talent: 50%]

[Beyond SSS-Grade: Less than 10%]

[However, when this process occurs, the individual will enter a state of deep sleep that may last anywhere from one year to one hundred years, depending on several factors.]

Orion remained seated, his face now completely pale as he stared at the information. He couldn’t move or speak, and for several long seconds, he could only stare at the screen while his mind struggled to process what he had just read.

Is this real?

Or am I trapped in some ridiculously sweet dream?

He swallowed.

No... at this point, it could very well qualify as a nightmare.

Because seriously, what the hell was this level of brokenness?!

These eggs could trigger a Reawakening, something that had previously existed only in myths and legends! Orion was still struggling to accept the fact that he himself had undergone a Reawakening. Even now, the entire experience felt so surreal that a part of him was still waiting to wake up and discover that none of it had actually happened.

He had spent years believing that his G-Grade talent was something he would have to live with for the rest of his life. He had dreamed of finding a way to overcome that limitation and becoming strong enough to pursue ascension despite the talent he had been born with.

And now, after everything that had happened inside Dungeon X, he had somehow transcended his original limits. Yet, even after experiencing it himself, he was still finding it difficult to believe that Reawakening was real.

And here he was, looking at a treasure that could trigger that very process in other people. Not just once or under some extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime circumstances, either. These eggs could do it whenever they were implanted into the body of an already awakened individual.

And that wasn’t even the most shocking part!

Orion’s eyes trembled as he reread the probabilities. A one million percent chance of awakening an S-Grade talent? Ten thousand percent for SS-Grade? And a hundred percent for SSS-Grade?!

What did the system even mean by that?!

He had heard of increased chances before and understood that certain treasures and abilities could improve a person’s odds of obtaining a higher-grade talent. But these numbers were completely absurd!

A one hundred percent chance meant a guaranteed result. There was no uncertainty in that, no need to hope that luck would be on one’s side, and no need to pray that the awakening process would produce a favourable outcome.

If an individual implanted one of these eggs before their talent awakened, they would have a guaranteed chance of obtaining an SSS-Grade talent.

Every single time!

Orion’s body began to tremble as his mind seemed to shut down for a moment, only to reboot in the next.

Wait...

Doesn’t that mean that if I implant these Origin Awakening Eggs into the bodies of young children before their awakening...

He couldn’t even finish the thought immediately. His heart pounded heavily against his chest as he considered the implications.

They would all have a guaranteed chance of awakening SSS-Grade talents? Every single one of them?

The implications were terrifying. A single SSS-Grade talent was already something more mythical than most people could comprehend. It was the sort of talent that could turn an ordinary person into a world-shaking existence, granting them the potential to reach heights that countless others could only dream of.

And yet, he was looking at a treasure that could guarantee that result for anyone who had yet to awaken their talent.

Orion’s body trembled more violently as his thoughts became chaotic, leaving him struggling to process the possibilities. Then, another thought struck him.

Elias.

Racheal.

The two of them had helped him and the children when they needed it most. They had been there for his family, and he had never forgotten their kindness.

What if I used these eggs on them?

What if Elias and Racheal underwent Reawakening and obtained S-Grade talents?

No...

Not just S-Grade.

The description gave them a fifty percent chance of awakening SSS-Grade talents! Half the chance! That was still an absurd possibility, especially considering that the eggs could help them transcend the limits of their original talents.

They might be able to leave their former grades behind and obtain powers they had never imagined possessing.

Orion stared at the screen, his thoughts racing faster than ever. If the Golden Mirror was broken, then these eggs were no less broken. In fact, they might be even more broken!

The Golden Mirror could potentially grant him an army of clones, each possessing seventy percent of his power. But the Origin Awakening Eggs could create monsters, changing the future of an individual before that person’s journey had even properly begun.

They could take people who would otherwise be limited by their original talents and give them the opportunity to transcend those limitations. They could produce SSS-Grade talents, guaranteed if implanted before awakening.

And Orion currently possessed five of these eggs!

Five!

He could hardly believe it. SSS-Grade talents were things that seemed to belong in legends, yet he had something capable of producing them sitting inside his system storage.

It was almost too ridiculous to accept.

Orion’s expression became increasingly troubled as he considered the consequences.

This... is... trouble.

Those three words perfectly described his current situation. If the world discovered that he possessed the Golden Mirror, he would undoubtedly become a target. But if the world discovered that he possessed these Origin Awakening Eggs, things would be far worse.

Much, much worse.

The Golden Mirror could potentially make him an army, but the eggs could potentially create an entire generation of extraordinary talents. Every powerful organization would want them, every ambitious family would desire them, and every person who dreamed of obtaining a higher-grade talent would be willing to do almost anything to get their hands on them.

And if those people couldn’t persuade him to hand over the treasures willingly, well, Orion didn’t even want to imagine what they might do.

If word got out that he was the one in possession of such reality-shattering eggs, he wouldn’t merely be wanted. He would be hunted, becoming the most hunted man in history!

There would be no shortage of people willing to track him down, no matter where he tried to hide. And the moment he was captured, there was no guarantee that anyone would allow him to leave alive.

At best, they might try to seal him away and keep him under their control, forcing him to surrender the treasures and reveal everything he knew about them.

At worst...

They would kill him and take the treasures by force.

Orion’s face grew even paler as the full weight of his situation finally settled over him. He had barely begun to understand his new powers, yet he was already in possession of treasures capable of turning the entire world upside down.

And he hadn’t even finished examining the five items!

What kind of ridiculous situation had he gotten himself into? Just how much trouble was he already in?

Orion trembled slightly, his mind overwhelmed by the sheer absurdity of everything he had discovered. At that very moment, a familiar voice reached his ears.

"That is him! He is a demon!"

Orion froze before slowly turning his snow-white face toward the door.

Standing there was the nurse from earlier, accompanied by a doctor wearing a white coat. The nurse was pointing directly at him, her expression filled with terror as though she had just encountered the most horrifying creature in existence.

The doctor beside her looked equally startled, his gaze moving between the nurse and the young man sitting on the hospital bed.

Meanwhile, Orion remained where he was, his face pale, his body trembling, and his expression looking as though he had just received news that the world was about to end.

It was rather ironic.

Because at that very moment, Orion looked far less like the demon the nurse claimed he was and far more like the number one victim of a demon who had just been thoroughly traumatized.
