Chapter 61

Orion’s eyes twitched once more in disbelief.

He nearly cursed, but he was so thoroughly shocked by the sheer pride of his system that he couldn’t even form a coherent curse.

Seriously, though...

What the hell?!

This was the first time Orion had encountered a system that was so outrageously egoistic and proud. Even S-Grade and SS-Grade systems weren’t this arrogant. They wouldn’t simply look down on lower-ranked skills and outright refuse to acknowledge them, as though doing so were beneath their dignity.

Yet his system was doing exactly that.

Orion stared at the new system interface, his gaze settling on the name that stood out prominently on the screen.

Origin.

He knew for certain that this had to be connected to his newly awakened talent. After all, the ordinary blue system he had possessed before was gone, replaced by this mysterious system that seemed to operate according to a completely different set of rules.

His gaze shifted toward the talent information displayed beneath his name.

[Talent: Origin Summoner]

[Grade: ???]

And there lay the problem.

He couldn’t even determine his talent’s grade!

The system had displayed three question marks in place of the information that should have revealed its rank. There was no S-Grade, SS-Grade, or even SSS-Grade designation, nothing that could give him a clue about just how powerful his newly awakened talent truly was.

Since a person’s system was directly linked to their talent grade, Orion’s system could be said to have no identifiable grade either.

Perhaps that was why it was so proud.

Maybe being an existence without a clearly defined grade had given it the confidence to look down on everything else. And, to be completely honest, considering the few utterly broken things it had managed to accomplish so far... at least, the things Orion had personally checked, read about, and witnessed... it probably deserved some of that pride.

After all, it had already accomplished things that should have been impossible.

It had transformed his physical and mental attributes to ridiculous levels, granted him an extraordinary ability like telekinesis, and evolved his D-Rank Dash skill all the way to S-Rank. It had even attempted to push that same skill to SSS-Rank as though it were nothing more than a routine task.

If that wasn’t impressive, then Orion didn’t know what was.

However, there was one little problem.

The system’s pride could prove detrimental to its own host, and that host was none other than Orion himself.

After all, where was he supposed to find tens, if not hundreds, of millions of points to purchase S-Rank skills?

He couldn’t even imagine how long it would take him to accumulate such an astronomical amount of points. Even if he dedicated himself to hunting monsters and completing dungeons, it would still be an enormous undertaking.

And if he somehow managed to obtain that much money...

Well, he would have far better uses for it.

With hundreds of millions of points at his disposal, Orion could completely transform his family’s livelihood. He could provide them with a degree of security and comfort that they had probably never even dreamed of.

The things one could obtain with hundreds of millions of points were truly astronomical.

At his current level, Orion couldn’t even begin to imagine spending such an amount on skill books alone, especially when there were probably countless other things that could benefit him and his family far more.

And the worst part?

From the system’s messages, it was clear that it seemed to look down on S-Rank skills as well. Apparently, only SS-Rank and SSS-Rank skills were truly worthy of its attention.

Arrogant as hell!

Orion cursed inwardly as he tried to think of a way to deal with this absurd situation. For a moment, he considered arguing with the system again, but he eventually decided against it... at least, for now.

There was no point in getting worked up over something he couldn’t immediately change.

Besides, he should try to focus on the positive side of things.

He had obtained a powerful S-Rank skill, and that alone was already a massive achievement.

If he could sell such a skill, it would undoubtedly be worth millions of points. Perhaps even more, depending on the circumstances.

Millions...

Orion’s eyes glimmered.

He imagined the possibilities for a brief moment, and before he knew it, he was practically salivating.

He swallowed, then let out a sigh before finally deciding to examine the other notifications he had received from the system.

Surely, there had to be something else worth looking into, something that might help him understand what had happened during the Dungeon X raid.

Ding!

[Host, your treasured prizes have been stored in the Partial Storage.]

[Partial Storage will disappear in three months.]

[Partial Storage: 5]

Orion blinked.

He stared at the notification, reading it once, then twice.

I have items now?

His curiosity was immediately piqued. What were these treasured prizes the system was talking about, and why would the Partial Storage disappear in three months?

He had no idea what any of that meant, but the mention of five items was enough to draw his attention.

Without wasting any more time, Orion opened the Partial Storage.

The moment the interface appeared, he discovered five items neatly displayed inside. Each one had its own image, allowing him to see what it looked like before examining its details.

Orion studied the five images carefully.

From their appearance alone, he could tell that these were items he had picked up somewhere.

Somewhere...

Somewhere mythical, perhaps?

Unfortunately, he had absolutely no idea where that place was. He couldn’t remember acquiring any of them, nor could he recall the circumstances under which he had obtained them.

If he didn’t know any better, he would have said that his memories had been wiped clean.

Orion raised a hand and placed it against his chin.

Wait... or is that actually what happened?

He paused, remaining still for several seconds as he considered the possibility.

Could his memories really have been erased? Was that why he couldn’t remember what had happened inside Dungeon X? Had he forgotten more than just the events surrounding the raid?

The possibility wasn’t exactly comforting.

However, after thinking about it for a few more seconds, Orion shook his head.

Nah. I’m probably just overthinking things.

He had already spent enough time worrying about the gaps in his memories. There was no point in jumping to conclusions when he had no evidence to support them.

Besides, he had five mysterious items sitting right in front of him. Rather than waste time speculating about where they came from, he might as well find out what they were capable of.

With that thought in mind, Orion shifted his attention to one of the items and selected it.

The first item he chose was a golden mirror.

He wasn’t expecting much. Perhaps it was some kind of treasure that could be used to reflect attacks, reveal hidden things, or perform some other special function. There were plenty of strange treasures in the world, so he wasn’t going to be surprised by a simple magical mirror.

At least, that was what he thought.

Perhaps he should have mentally prepared himself for what he was about to read, because the information that appeared on the screen was enough to make him question whether his brain was functioning properly.

[Name: Golden Mirror]

[Type: Mythical Treasure]

[Description: A mysterious golden mirror forged from one of the purest divine materials.]

[The moment the mirror is shattered, every fragment becomes a perfect clone of the individual who broke it.]

[Each clone possesses 70% of the original individual’s abilities, skills, and total combat strength.]

[The number of clones created depends on the power of the individual who shatters the mirror. The stronger the individual, the more fragments the mirror can split into, and the greater the number of clones that can be created.]

[The clones will continue to exist until the transformation is cancelled.]

[Upon cancellation, every clone will disappear and transform back into the golden mirror fragments from which it was created, reconstructing the original golden mirror.]

[Note: The stronger the user, the greater the potential of the Golden Mirror. Its true limit is unknown.]

Orion hadn’t even finished reading the description before his body began to feel weak.

His eyes widened, and his lips parted as he momentarily forgot how to breathe.

What the hell did I just read?!

He stared at the description as though he expected the words to rearrange themselves into something more reasonable, but no matter how many times he looked at them, the information remained the same.

Seventy percent of the original’s power.

Every single clone.

And even if those clones were destroyed, they would simply turn back into the mirror fragments that had created them.

Just how broken is this treasure?!

Orion felt as though his entire understanding of what constituted a powerful treasure had been thrown out of the window.

Even high-ranking clone skills generally struggled to reproduce more than fifty percent of the original user’s power. Those abilities were already considered heaven-defying, capable of turning the tide of battles that would otherwise be impossible to win.

Yet this golden mirror could create clones possessing seventy percent of the original individual’s abilities, skills, and total combat strength.

Seventy percent!

That was already an outrageous advantage, but the terrifying part wasn’t even the strength of each individual clone.

It was the number of clones the mirror could potentially create.

There was no fixed number stated in the description. Instead, the treasure’s potential depended on the strength of the person using it. The stronger the user became, the greater the number of fragments the mirror could produce.

And the greater the number of fragments, the greater the number of clones.

Orion’s breathing became increasingly unsteady as he contemplated the implications.

What would happen if he became powerful enough for the mirror to shatter into hundreds of fragments?

Hundreds of clones, each possessing seventy percent of his total combat strength.

What if he became even stronger? What if the number increased to thousands?

Or tens of thousands?

Orion’s mind raced as he tried to imagine the possibilities.

Then, a far more ridiculous thought suddenly appeared in his mind.

What if, one day, I became powerful enough for the mirror to shatter into millions of fragments?

Millions!

That would mean millions of clones of himself, each possessing seventy percent of his power!

Millions of beings who could use his skills, wield his abilities, and fight with a substantial portion of his strength.

Even if each clone possessed only seventy percent of his original combat strength, the combined destructive potential would be beyond imagination.

How could anyone possibly fight against something like that?

Who could withstand an army of millions of clones, all possessing the abilities and combat experience of the same powerful individual?

And the most ridiculous part was that the mirror could reconstruct itself after the transformation was cancelled.

It wasn’t even a one-time-use treasure.

Once the clones disappeared, the fragments would return to their original form, allowing the mirror to be used again.

Orion felt his scalp growing numb.

That was the absolute definition of being broken.

No exaggeration, no lies.

If anyone discovered that he possessed such a treasure, he would probably become the most wanted man on Earth.

And that wasn’t an exaggeration either.

A treasure capable of multiplying a powerful individual’s fighting force on such a scale would attract the attention of every major power in the world. Guilds, wealthy families, powerful hunters, and even the most influential organizations would all want to get their hands on it.

Some would try to buy it, others would attempt to steal it, and there would undoubtedly be people who would rather kill him than allow such a treasure to fall into someone else’s hands.

That was just how world-shattering the Golden Mirror was.

Yet...

Orion wasn’t finished.

No, he had only just examined the details of the very first item in his Partial Storage. There were still four more treasures waiting to be inspected.

Four!

And considering how absurd the first one was, he wasn’t sure whether his heart could survive the remaining revelations.

He swallowed hard.

Before the shock from the Golden Mirror could completely paralyze him, Orion quickly moved his attention to the next item. Perhaps examining another treasure would help calm him down, and perhaps it would be something relatively ordinary.

Something that wouldn’t threaten to turn his brain into mush.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t have been more wrong.

The reason?

The moment the information appeared on his screen, Orion felt as though the universe itself had decided to mock him.

[Name: ORIGIN AWAKENING EGGS]

[Type: Transcendent Treasure]

[Description: Incomparably rare eggs laid by a long-forgotten ancient bird possessing unfathomable power.]

[When implanted into the body of an individual, these eggs can alter the very foundation of their talent.]

Orion’s eyes moved down the description.

And then he stopped breathing.

[When an egg is implanted into an individual who has not yet awakened their talent, the following probabilities apply upon their awakening:]

[S-Grade Talent: 1,000,000%]

[SS-Grade Talent: 10,000%]

[SSS-Grade Talent: 100%]

[Beyond SSS-Grade: Less than 100%]

Orion sat completely still.
