265 Arrogance Vs Confidence
As soon as those words came out from his mouth, the crowd erupted.
“What the hell? Isn’t it disadvantageous to go earlier than later?”
“Why is he not playing the game at all? Does he not know now that the two large families are targeting him? Why did his face not change even when he stepped into the arena? Is he that confident in taking anyone out of the game?”
“It had to be known that once you made this step, you cannot back down anymore!”
“Whoever wants to challenge me can come up to this platform anytime. I welcome anyone. I’d admire your courage if you want to challenge me, but I also don’t want to waste time. Thus, I don’t want to fight the ‘ten’ of you one at a time. Come at me as a group. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have the chance to kill me by less than a percent,” Yang Lujia said as he felt the dense killing intent becoming even thicker.
His words were too arrogant that incurred the wrath of the crowd. As soon as these words came out, one person came up on stage and looked at Yang Lujia with a disdainful look. “You’re overestimating yourself!”
The two families, on the other hand, especially their patriarchs and their grand elders were looking at this scene play in front of them. It looked like they were cheated and their plans were seen and foiled by this young man on the platform with a calm expression.
Regardless, they felt like this young man was just being overly prideful. Even if he knew their plans, that didn’t mean he could fend off every adventurer that they paid at a heavy price just to kill this kid.
“Kill him!”
“Yeah! Kill that kid who killed Young Master Hao!”
“Avenge Young Master Hao!”
“Avenge Young Master Du!”
The two families even hired thugs who would shout just to demoralize Yang Lujia. However, what they received back was a nonchalant gaze from Yang Lujia. Moreover, as soon as this gaze landed on them, one of them who showed killing intent suddenly stood there, unable to move. And this series of events continued to occur. It was as if they were petrified by that one-second gaze.
When Lao Han saw this, others might not be able to see it, but he could see it—although all these people continued to move after a second, some of them had already become puppets of Yang Lujia.
Just this show of strength alone already pricked his heart—as he coursed through the events that happened in that high-end restaurant back then. He was terror-stricken. If he had made a move back then, he would already been pulverized already.
“Are you sure you want to fight me alone?” Yang Lujia asked, ignoring the jeering crowd obviously hired by the two families.
Instead, he just looked at the young man who was filled with murderous intent towards him.
“Hah! What are you saying? You’re too arrogant for your age! I have already roamed around different lands! It’s not time for a brat like you could understand! Now—”
Yang Lujia just smiled and the man was cut off from his speech. A terrifying thought appeared inside the young man’s mind as his stomach churned in regret.
As Yang Lujia smiled, the rules of time and space lingered around the young man’s body and the latter’s physicality slowly dispersed—erasing him from this space and time.
As soon as the young man disappeared without a trace of life, everyone fell silent and looked at Yang Lujia who was smiling. Others like Cai Hong and the bunch might see this smile as the kindest one, but others, after that scene unfolded, they already viewed Yang Lujia’s smile as akin to a devil’s.
Even the City Mayor and the people from the Adventurers’ Association were dumbstruck and were unable to react at all.
Yang Lujia looked at the crowd and noticed the killing intent that hurriedly dissipated after seeing him kill the other party with just a gaze and a smile.
“Where are the others that the two families hired? Why are you concealing your murderous intent? Come up here on stage. I want you to fight me with all your might.”
While uttering those words, the crowd was again speechless of what transpired. Some jaws were already slacked open, shocked of what they were witnessing at the moment. This was probably the most historic scene they had seen in their entire lives.
What happened was very shocking. Yang Lujia actually used space to transport every adventurer who dared to vent their murderous intent on him earlier onto the platform, without even moving a hand. It was as if the rules of space accompanied them and did not have the time to struggle as they were transported on the stage.
“Insolence!” the City Mayor said, still siding with the two families. “Who are you to force everyone—”
However, when Yang Lujia looked at him with a face that did not have any waves, he was forced to shut up. Although he was the City Mayor, his strength was only of the Saint King Realm. Seeing how Yang Lujia effortlessly killed a young Saint King, he was petrified, but he had the two families behind him. That was why he had the guts to say those things.
When he was about to continue what he was about to say, Yang Lujia’s voice rang around the arena. It was as if his voice was modified by the rules of sound and it was indeed so.
However, Yang Lujia did not know as he was unconscious when he was using these rules that he did not know. Unless he knew of their names and/or their function, he wouldn’t be able to use them willingly—very unlike how proficient he was when using the rules of time and space.
“Did the rules say the person standing on the platform can’t fight nine or ten people in just one round?” Yang Lujia questioned the crowd who lowered their heads and recalled the rules the City Mayor had set. “Did the rules say that forcing another to come to the platform is prohibited? Did the rules say that admitting defeat would be done through gestures or through my opponents’ eyes? Unless they say they’d admit defeat, they would remain in the platform, still tagged as undefeated!”
When the others and the people on the high platform heard this, their intestines stirred as they thought of the incredible means that this young man had in his arsenal. Even the head of the Adventurers’ Association was burning with regret. However he felt anger against this young man, he still felt apprehensive of the young man’s strength. He did not even lift a hand to kill a Saint King!
If only they did not agree with the conditions set by the two families… these few talented soon-to-be adventurers should’ve been able to keep their lives and had successfully entered the association—but they chose hell rather than otherwise. No one could be blamed but them and certainly not that young man.
Moreover, as the head of the association, how could he not know the unscrupulous behavior of those two young masters of the two families? For certain, it was their fault that they offended this young man.
“I’ll take your silence as a tacit agreement,” Yang Lujia said after observing for a while. He then looked at the City Mayor who was currently burning with rage as he feel amused of himself. “Can I continue now, City Mayor?”
Without even heeding for the answer of the City Mayor, Yang Lujia raised his hand and snapped his finger once. Everyone at the scene then felt a change in their surroundings. The skies turned dark—no—the arena became a pandemonium of darkness.
But that was only after a second. Not even a commotion started or a word from somebody’s mouth came out. This was the rules of the darkness accompanied with the rules of space and time.
When everyone woke up from that temporary stupor, they immediately settled their gaze on the platform. On the platform, they could only see one person. As for the other restrained nine, not even a single drop of their blood was left.
Just like that, every one of them was erased from the river of space and time.
“Do I have now the qualifications to enter your eyes and enter your association, Association Head?” Yang Lujia looked at the old man who at the bleachers with a smile.
Meanwhile, this old man showed a nevertheless shocked expression, despite him trying to tuck away his emotions. And everyone’s eyes were already on him.
