266 Grand Elders?
Yang Lujia did not entertain any reply from the Association Head anymore. He just went down the stairs of the platform and stood in the middle of the crowd, with no one getting near him. He had done his part and what was only necessary for him to do was get his license done as an adventurer and immediately continue to execute his plans.
He then looked at the archpriest. The latter also looked at him.
Yang Lujia did not have any expression on him but gave the man a smile that was not a smile.
As for the upcoming fights, he only found them interesting but these mundane fights where anyone would show off their strength could not stir a bit of his emotions. He had learned to adapt to situations the fastest as he could.
And by “adapt,” he meant ignoring these situations as though he was already used to them.
Meanwhile, the Association Head already disappeared from the bleachers and went back to the highest platform with a gloomy look on his face. It seemed like he underestimated this young man.
“He could actually point where I was hiding?” the man questioned himself with his assistant, trying to let him wear a cloak that was befitting of his status. “How long had it been since he had noticed me sulking in one corner? I even wore a concealing treasure with me!”
“Although I don’t have any power in me, may I present my opinion about this matter, Association Head?”
The man looked at his assistant in surprise and nodded to let him speak.
“This kid is not simple. I’ve already made the others find a bit of his background, but we never found anything. It seems like he just appeared out of nowhere—origins unknown… background unknown… and certainly, as per investigation, he had no powerhouse along with him, except for those who were sitting on one of the bleachers on the other side,” the assistant replied with a nonchalant tone. “That dog sleeping beside that beautiful girl—his power was extremely ferocious—and not just this thing could make our people feel apprehensive towards them. They were also very skeptical about the strength of the others in the group, especially that child whose lips seemed to run around like smoke.”
“So you really did an investigation on him in advance. That’s quite thoughtful. However, do you think he doesn’t know about this? Looking at this young man’s shrewd smile, it felt like he already knew everything behind the scenes,” the man said as he looked at Yang Lujia again.
As soon as the tournament ended, Yang Lujia and his group already went out of the arena and proceeded to the main building of the Adventurers’ Association. However, this time, no one dared to mess with him or his companions. They already knew the terror of this young man. He was like a god that could control everything around him.
Even those people who revealed killing intent from the crowd, who jeered at him earlier, were killed for unknown reasons. It wasn’t like they had someone who could check Yang Lujia’s means. His means were extremely out of this world and they could not even think about it.
“Miss, can I activate this identification card right now? How do I do it?” Yang Lujia asked after reaching the counter.
The lady was trembling from head to foot as he looked at this handsome young man. Besides his dashing appearance, she could really tell that he was definitely very strong—the same as that man who she liked.
And this young lady was exactly the one who Yang Lujia encountered and talked to when he came for registering himself to become an adventurer.
“Official Badge, that’s the highest rank you can get after getting registered into the association,” she said after activating his card, dispelling all her shakiness earlier. “After that, if you complete more missions than usual, you will get the King Badge, then the highest being the Emperor Badge—”
“Give him the Emperor Badge…” a voice came from behind her that took her by surprise. “Oh… Association Head… why would…”
She did not see Yang Lujia taking action in the City Arena, so she did not have any idea about how strong Yang Lujia really was. Thus, she was surprised when the Association Head actually took the initiative to come down and decided to give him the highest rank they could give—the Emperor Rank.
“Just give him the badge. No more questions. Whether he deserves it or not, you will know soon. But I never give anyone a badge without a proper measure of their strength. In fact, I can’t measure his strength at all.”
The young lady looked at Yang Lujia, whose face was akin to an old well, having no ripples at all. “Is he really strong… are you…”
“Miss, when I asked you whether your hair is black or not, don’t you think it’s obvious?” Yang Lujia smiled.
The young lady blushed as she harrumphed. “Never mind… just take the badge and go away…”
When Yang Lujia finally left and all was well for the association, the lady went with the Association Head and complained to the latter about the young man’s behavior.
“If you want to scold him, scold him however you want. However, I should remind you that he is someone very strong. Might be even stronger than me. Moreover, have you already forgotten about how he erased Young Master Du’s existence within the association’s building?”
“Stronger than you? Aren’t you also able to erase someone’s existence—”
“Reminder, I can’t do that on someone at the same level as me. I might be able to do it, but not as fast as him. He could even erase space and control time to render them unable to move a bit of their bodies. What do you think?”
The young lady was speechless and began to process everything that was presented in front of her.
“You are extremely strong, might be even stronger than me, but you clearly lacked the brains to back up your strength. That was why you always lost to that person.”
The lady became even more depressed as soon as the Association Head brought up that matter.
“You have to be careful associating with him. Apart from his incredible strength, he is a tough nut to crack. Outsmarting him might need a lot of plan B’s in order to gain an advantage over him.”
“I’ll be careful…”
On the other hand, Yang Lujia happened to have already come back to the inn and chatted with the others for a while. He laid out his plans to them, but not everything.
“That’s your plan? You really want to conquer every city?” Brownie asked.
“That’s slow, but starting from here, it’s ideal,” Yang Lujia replied. “Moreover, I’ve already made subtle connections with them. Moreover, the two families might have already been scared by me, and by now, they might do it.”
“What ‘it’?” Cai Hong was baffled. “Moreover, Your Highness, why don’t you just go and kill them all off? Isn’t that more convenient for you, with your strength?”
When Yang Lujia heard this, he just shook his head and said, “When you conquer, do not use force. The resolve in everybody’s heart is not equal. Once you triggered their resolve, they wouldn’t reconcile with you until death, and that would minimize the number of pawns you can use.”
Cai Hong shook his head and looked at Yang Lujia in admiration. “As expected of His Highness, he had already considered every step of the way in this plan. This is so exciting!”
Yang Lujia looked outside the window and smiled. “It’s time to rest. You rest early. Let’s stroll around the city tomorrow morning.”
As he said that, he disappeared from the room they were talking in and appeared inside his own. As he looked at his room’s window, his face did not show any waves.
“Would you come out by yourselves or not?” Yang Lujia asked, in the dark corner of the room with a blank expression and with his arms crossed across his chest. “Two Grand Elders of the Du Family and the Hao Family. I wonder how the patriarchs would react to this if they saw you sneaking into my own room in the middle of the night. For some reason, I verily want to witness their expressions after they saw you like this, Twin Swords Shifter, my newest creations.”
