Chapter 253: 253: Phase Three.

Ayra sighed as she turned to stare at Nyx, who was standing there and watching them.

"I heard that Nyx isn’t too good at cooking..." she said with another sigh. "I suppose it would have been nice if I could also get a taste of what he could do..."

"I figured you would look handsome and good-looking while cooking. Beastmen who cook always look handsome and hot in my eyes." Ayra smiled as she stared at her mates.

Then she added, "Well, that’s fine. I suppose I’ll just have to look forward to your cooking then..."

She waited for the result.

Immediately, Nyx raised an eyebrow. He hesitated for a while before finally saying, "And who said I can’t cook...?"

Ayra and her mates immediately turned to stare at him.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Ayra tilted her head. "I heard them say you can’t, and I figured that’s probably why you don’t wish to contribute..."

Nyx cleared his throat, raising his chin firmly as he said, "I can cook... But I only choose to do so when I want to. So I don’t do it every time at all..."

As he said that, Ayra’s other mates stared at him, rather speechless.

"Huh? Since when is that true?" Lord Ash demanded. "The last time I remember, you couldn’t even turn on the fire for anything..."

Lord Vale folded his arms as he said, "You can’t even gather the necessary ingredients for preparation... So since when did you start cooking?"

"....."

Nyx was speechless with embarrassment. But Ayra was here, so he tried to cover it up as he added, "You don’t know anything about me. I can prepare a lot, and I suppose I’ll have to show you then."

Nyx turned to Ayra and said firmly, "Don’t worry. All you have to do is get some rest. I’ll assist in preparing whatever you want. You’ll enjoy it," he assured her.

Ayra smiled.

Mission complete.

She had successfully gotten all five of them to voluntarily assist in preparing something for her. Now, she just had to sit back, relax, and wait for the final result.

"Thanks a lot for your consideration..." she said sweetly. "What would I have done without you all...?"

They all felt proud as Commander Lynn asked her, "So, what do you want us to make for you?"

"Sweet potato porridge," Ayra said with a smile.

Immediately, all their smiles dropped.

None of them knew how to make that at all. They rarely even had it, so they had no idea where to start!

They hesitated, struggling to bring their smiles back as they stared at Ayra. They didn’t want her to notice that they couldn’t make it.

"Oh, I see. That!" Lord Vale laughed as he said, "Don’t worry about it. We’ll handle it and bring you something delicious to enjoy!"

Ayra smiled. "That’s good. I hope you all can make it right...?" she asked, staring at their faces and studying them carefully.

Lord Zark was the only one who wasn’t pretending. He had a confused expression on his face, and it was clear that they had no idea what they were doing.

"Oh, heavens... What have I gotten myself into...?" Ayra muttered, wondering how this was going to end.

If not for her system, she certainly wasn’t ready to have five grown beastmen with no idea how to prepare the meal cooking something for her to eat.

She was scared of the outcome!

But Ayra smiled as she said, "Then get Rabbit Chef for me and listen attentively. I’ll give you instructions on how to prepare it."

"Sure. I’ll get him." Lord Ash said as he turned and left to get the Rabbit Chef.

Indeed, she had guessed they needed that help.

When the Rabbit Chef arrived, Ayra gave them detailed instructions on how to prepare the sweet potato porridge. She explained the ingredients they would need and how they would use each of them to prepare the meal.

While she gave her little lecture, they all sat there staring at her attentively. Commander Lynn and Lord Ash had their hands on their chins while listening with serious expressions.

They all had scholarly, serious expressions as she spoke, as though they were attending an important lesson.

And when she was done, Ayra asked, "So... do you understand?"

"....."

Silence.

They simply sat there staring at her.

They didn’t understand anything at all.

"Can you repeat that again...?" Nyx finally asked.

Ayra sighed as she nodded. She had no choice.

She repeated the instructions twice more, wondering what they were supposed to prepare for her if they didn’t even know the basics!

Hopefully, she wouldn’t die from the meal instead of the illness.

The Rabbit Chef was faster at grasping the cooking-related instructions, so he understood them by the second explanation. Her mates, however, slowly began catching on as well.

Soon, they started nodding along.

"Oh!" Commander Lynn finally said. "Then you sit tight and enjoy your rest. We’ll go and prepare the best meal for you!"

He said it firmly as they all got to their feet.

"So get some rest, and we’ll go and make everything happen," Lord Ash added with a smile.

Ayra nodded. "Okay, then. I’ll be waiting for your good news."

With that, they slowly began leaving with the Rabbit Chef to get ready for the meal.

As they left, Ayra sat down on the bed, shaking her head with a sigh.

She closed her eyes and said a silent prayer.

"I hope they don’t end up poisoning me..." She stared into thin air. "Dear system, if I end up dead, then it’s probably your fault."

---

Soon, the six of them were standing outside Ayra’s house, their arms folded as they looked around.

"So, we have to begin somewhere, and we have to be fast about it," Lord Ash said firmly. He looked around before asking, "You remember the ingredients, right?"

He stared at Lord Vale.

Lord Vale sighed and shook his head. "I can’t believe you forgot them so easily... Of course I remember."

He raised his chin proudly, a confident smile appearing on his face.

"This is probably why she likes me. I’m the most reliable for this."

He sighed before walking off.

"Follow me. I’ll lead the way."
