Chapter 81: Reaching Level 25, A Celestial Only Moves Forward
Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Reaching Level 25, A Celestial Only Moves Forward
After meeting with David, Eleonore, and the others, Leon and Emilia didn’t linger for long.
There was nothing left for them to do at [Hub City] for now, and both of them had the same goal in mind: Level 25, and the second assessment.
They quickly made their way back toward [Moon City], moving at full speed. With their current stats, the monsters along the way were nothing more than obstacles that barely slowed them down.
Once they arrived, Leon didn’t waste any time.
Slash! Slash!
His sword flashed through the air as he cut down several monsters in quick succession.
There was no struggle, no hesitation. The monsters didn’t even have time to react before collapsing into particles of light.
The experience bar filled instantly.
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 25!]
[Due to “Heaven’s Blessing”, you have gained 125 points in all attributes and 125 free points to distribute.]
“Nice,” Leon muttered, a satisfied smile appearing on his face.
Right beside him, Emilia finished off her own target, and a familiar sound echoed in her ears as well.
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 25!]
Her stats increased accordingly, but more importantly, a new panel appeared before Leon almost immediately after.
Ding!
—
[You have reached Level 25. Your experience will now be locked until you complete your second assessment.]
[Do you wish to teleport to the “Intermediate Divine Temple” to undergo your second assessment?]
[Yes] [Yes, please]
—
Emilia stared at her own panel, then laughed lightly.
“Well,” she said with a grin, “I can select yes or no… but there’s no point in just sitting around here, right?”
She didn’t hesitate and selected her option.
Leon, on the other hand, frowned slightly as he looked at his own panel.
“…I think there’s a mistake,” he mumbled.
Unlike Emilia, he didn’t have two choices. There was only one.
[A “Celestial” cannot back away no matter what. Moving forward is the only thing they should do.]
[Also you have 30 seconds to choose.]
“…Damn.”
This was the first time Leon had encountered something remotely close to this.
He had assumed that being a [Celestial] probably came with restrictions, but seeing it this clearly was still unsettling.
Did that mean every other Celestial had gone through this too?
The only way was forward. Regardless, Leon didn’t panic.
Ding!
[You have selected “Yes, please”.]
[You will be teleported to the “Intermediate Divine Temple” in 5 minutes.]
Emilia’s countdown started as well.
“I guess we wait now,” Emilia said as she sat down on the ground, letting out a small breath. “I’m kind of nervous.”
Leon remained standing, calm as ever.
Unlike before his first assessment, he didn’t have any unopened treasure chests waiting for him. No unknown rewards to sort through.
Instead, he had something else.
[Skill Stones x29]
[Enhancement Stones x32]
A decent stockpile. That alone was enough to keep him busy.
“Let’s make the most of the time we have,” Leon said quietly.
He started with the [Enhancement Stones]. There was no reason to hesitate.
Leon crushed thirty of them in one go, the stones dissolving into light as he immediately selected two pieces of equipment.
[Void Staff +2 (Mythical)] and [Blood Wyvern Armor (Legendary)]
Ding! Ding!
[You have successfully enhanced “Void Staff +2” and “Blood Wyvern Armor”.]
Leon opened the panels to check the updated stats.
—
[Void Staff +3 (Mythical): +2,500 Spirit. Requirement: Level 15.]
[Blood Heart Blessing: The “Spirit” bonus of the staff is tripled.]
—
[Blood Wyvern Armor +2 (Legendary): +2,000 Defense, +1,000 Constitution, +800 Spirit, +500 Agility. Prevents “Bleeding”.]
—
“Nice.”
Leon nodded slowly. The improvements were substantial.
The [Blood Wyvern Armor] now offered an impressive mix of defense and attributes, making it even harder to damage him. But the real star was the [Void Staff +3].
Because of its special effect, the Spirit bonus wasn’t just +2,500. It was tripled.
That alone translated into a massive spike in combat power, roughly 6,000 added instantly.
Leon then allocated the 125 free attribute points he had just gained, placing all of them into [Agility].
Once that was done, he checked his combat power. And froze.
[Combat Power: 25,352 (+59,764)]
“DAMN!”
That put him at around 85,000 Combat Power.
Leon stared at the number for a few seconds, letting it sink in.
That was far beyond what most players could reach at this stage. It even surpassed Emilia’s combat power, despite her absurd constitution multiplier.
He already knew he was strong. But seeing it laid out so clearly still made him pause.
At this point, even players from eternal-level worlds would struggle to keep up. And those players were supposed to be the elite.
’Most of the real monsters only show up in the [Higher Domain],’ Leon thought calmly. ’That’s when talents and titles really start to shine.’
For now, though… He was more than safe.
With the enhancement stones dealt with, Leon turned his attention to the skill stones.
But instead of using them immediately, he glanced at Emilia’s skill panel.
[Saintess’ Skills: Appraisal (Common Lv.3), Agility Enhancement (Common Lv.3), Divine Beam (Elite Lv.2), Strength Buff (Rare Lv.1), Spectral Flames (Epic Lv.1), Speed Buff (Lv.1)]
Compared to Leon’s arsenal, her skills were severely underleveled. That wasn’t surprising.
Getting the enhancement stones to upgrade your skills required either absurd luck, endless grinding for skill stones, or spending large amounts of Eternal Coins in the [Trading House].
Emilia had done none of those.
Still…
“Here,” Leon said as he tossed fourteen skill stones toward her. “Use these. You’ll need stronger attack skills for the assessment.”
Emilia caught them, blinking in surprise.
“Are you sure?”
Leon nodded. “Your defense is ridiculous. But if you can’t deal damage, things could get tricky.”
She didn’t argue.
Emilia immediately crushed all fourteen skill stones, splitting them evenly between her two main attack skills.
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have upgraded “Spectral Flames (Epic Level 1)” to “Spectral Flames (Epic Level 2)”.]
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have upgraded “Divine Beam (Elite Level 2)” to “Beam of Divinity (Elite Level 3)”.]
“Nice!” Emilia said, clenching her fist as she felt the difference immediately.
The power flowing through her skills was far stronger now. Monsters she previously struggled to damage would no longer be a problem.
Leon watched for a moment, then turned his attention back to himself.
He still had fifteen skill stones left. He opened his own skill panel.
[Skills: Appraisal (Common Lv.5), Vision Enhancement (Common Lv.4), Powerful Fireball (Common Lv.6), Storm of Lightning (Elite Lv.4), Crescent Slash (Epic Lv.2), Darkness Barrier (Epic Lv.2), Shadow Slash (Legendary Lv.1), Blood Beam (Legendary Lv.1)]
It was a solid lineup. And it would only grow stronger in the future.
’I know a few skills I really want,’ Leon thought. ’Getting them won’t be easy, though.’
Legendary skills were expensive to upgrade.
With only fifteen skill stones, he had to choose carefully.
In the end, the decision was simple.
Fwoosh!
Leon crushed ten skill stones and selected one skill.
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have upgraded “Shadow Slash (Legendary Level 1)” to “Shadow Slash (Legendary Level 2)”.]
It was his strongest physical skill. When used correctly, it could even one-shot bosses. Especially in an assessment.
Leon opened the description.
[Shadow Slash (Legendary Level 2): Blend into the shadows for up to 45 seconds, then strike an enemy with a powerful darkness-based attack.]
The change was simple. But meaningful.
The duration had increased from thirty seconds to forty-five.
That alone could decide life or death in the right situation.
Before Leon could look any further—
Ding!
A massive panel appeared before both him and Emilia, dwarfing everything else.
[You are about to be teleported to the “Intermediate Divine Temple”.]
[May the will of the “Heavenly One” be with you.]
The air around them began to distort. Light gathered beneath their feet.
And just like that, everything went white.
