Chapter 461: Dealing with the Ice and Flame King
Fwoosh!
Ignis launched a wave of flames toward the group, the heat so intense it made the air shimmer, then continued as ice erupted all over the place, creating a treacherous landscape of fire and frost.
The problem they had was that anytime they got close, Ignis would release shockwaves or an attack that made it incredibly difficult to go through to attack without being hit, forcing them to constantly retreat and regroup.
They tried to coordinate their attacks, striking from different angles, but Ignis was always one step ahead.
The ethereal woman unleashed a barrage of mana bolts, but he absorbed them with a wave of his hand.
The dwarf charged forward with his axe, but a blast of ice sent him sliding back.
The man in heavy plate armor took the brunt of a flame wave, his shield glowing red hot.
The one with mechanical limbs fired explosive rounds, but Ignis simply swatted them aside with a casual flick of his wrist.
"We stated that me and Cavin wouldn’t act," Empress sighed as she approached, spinning her spear in hand, her voice carrying a note of annoyance, "But seems like we underestimated those things a little."
As soon as they saw her, all of the Requiem Guild members cheered up, knowing that their co-leader would deal with it, their spirits lifting at her arrival.
"Me and Cavin have to let our powers rest for the final event," Empress continued, her eyes narrowing, "Soul attacks take a lot more energy after all, so I’ll only help a bit, but that should be enough."
"T-Thank you, lady Empress!" the ethereal woman stammered, her voice filled with relief.
"We’ll deal with the rest, trust us!" the dwarf added, his grip tightening on his axe.
Empress simply sighed, her aura crackling around her, and then in an instant, she blitzed out of existence, disappearing from sight.
Ignis’ eyes widened as he looked around for her, launching a massive amount of flame and ice around him in a desperate attempt to hit her.
But after a few seconds of searching, she appeared right in front of his face, her spear pointed forward.
"I won’t kill you..." Empress said, her voice cold and calm, "...But with what I’m about to do, the others will."
SLASH!
Empress drove her spear deep into the Ice and Flame King’s chest, not through his heart, but through a specific point where the two elements met.
Silver crystals exploded from the wound, spreading across his body like a web.
They didn’t kill him, but they disrupted his elemental balance, causing his flames to sputter and his ice to crack.
Ignis roared in agony, his power fluctuating wildly as he struggled to maintain control. His attacks became weaker, more erratic, giving the Requiem Guild members the opening they needed.
"You deal with the rest," Empress said as she turned around, her job done.
The Requiem Guild members surged forward, their attacks finally finding their mark as they carved into Ignis’ weakened form.
But right as he was about to be overwhelmed, Ignis allowed the power to flow through him and explode everything around him, a massive eruption of fire and ice that sent the guild members flying.
The explosion was devastating, and surprisingly, it killed one of the Requiem Guild members, the wolf beastman who had tried to talk to Leon.
Fwoosh!
His body was consumed by the blast, his form turning into particles as he disappeared, leaving nothing behind but fading light.
’I bet they all have Resurrection Stones,’ Leon thought, watching from the shadows, ’its just that it costs them a LOT for each one.’
Every Requiem Guild member only had one of these each, meaning that another death would mean it was over for him, a permanent loss.
But in this new form, it truly looked like Ignis was even stronger, his body crackling with unstable energy as he prepared for the next attack.
[Combat Power: 21,900,000 (+2,000,000)]
He had gained 2 million combat power in bonus, which didn’t seem like a lot, but could actually turn the flow of battle, making him even more dangerous than before.
Though it didn’t change the fact the flow of his elements was disrupted, meaning he still struggled.
Most of the Requiem Guild members wondered what they should do, their confidence shaken by the sudden turn of events.
But that was until Leon made his move.
’Alright, its time,’ Leon thought, his body tensing.
It had been around 8 minutes, meaning his skill was almost fully charged.
And he knew he didn’t have any better opportunity as Ignis was currently charging a devastating attack, his attention focused entirely on the Requiem Guild members.
Leon emerged from the shadows, his blade glowing with the power of the abyss, the energy he had gathered over the past eight minutes coursing through him.
He moved with blinding speed, his strike aimed directly at Ignis’ neck. The Ice and Flame King turned at the last second, his eyes widening in shock, but it was too late.
Leon’s blade cleaved through his neck, severing his head from his body in one clean motion.
The flames and ice surrounding Ignis dispersed instantly, his power fading as he collapsed to the ground.
Ding!

Leon landed softly on the ground, his breathing steady as he looked at the fallen king, the power of the kill surging through him.
All the items from the Ice and Flame King rushed into his Storage Space, the notifications piling up as the loot was automatically sorted, and more interestingly, a familiar notification appeared that made Leon’s eyes widen with anticipation.
Ding!

’Damn,’ Leon thought, his mind racing as he considered his options and weighed the value of each potential reward.
Leon didn’t really have the time to observe the items’ description in detail yet due to the horde of monsters that still swarmed the battlefield, their roars filling the air, as well as the fact the Void King was still standing, his presence a constant threat that loomed over everyone.
But he simply checked out their names for a split second, his eyes scanning the list of available items with practiced efficiency.
