Chapter 362: Meeting With Violet Again, The Kingdom’s Left Wall

Emilia and Celeste seemed genuinely shocked to see the [Dragon Empress] approach them, their eyes widening as the famous player walked through the crowd that parted before her like waves before a ship.

They immediately took their stance for battle, their bodies tensing instinctively as they prepared for a potential confrontation.

Nobody in this kingdom approached others to simply ask things after all.

Though they knew deep down that they didn’t really stand a chance against someone of her caliber.

Only Celeste could potentially do something using her [Darkness Ember] that targeted the soul directly, but the dragon woman before them seemed prepared for absolutely anything, her confident demeanor suggesting she had faced far worse threats.

Regardless of that though, they thankfully didn’t have to worry about that because Violet’s attention was focused entirely on Leon, her expression warm and familiar.

"Leon," Violet smiled, her voice carrying a hint of genuine warmth that seemed reserved just for him, "We meet again, after over a month of being apart."

"...Yeah," Leon nodded slightly, his voice neutral, "Its... good to see you here, I wasn’t expecting to run into you so soon."

"You don’t seem that enthusiastic about it," Violet shook her head with a playful smile, "But its fine, I guess it must be surprising to see me."

Violet’s pupils then landed on the two girls who were hiding slightly behind Leon, her curiosity piqued by their presence.

"Your girlfriends?" Violet raised her eyebrows with amusement, "I didn’t think you were the kind of person to do that sort of thing..."

"Companions," Leon corrected with a neutral expression, his voice firm, "They’re pretty strong in their own right, don’t underestimate them."

Celeste and Emilia introduced themselves to Violet, their voices a mix of nervousness and curiosity, and so did the dragon girl, who made sure to explain to them how she knew about Leon from their time in the forsaken city.

"Ohmygod, so you two were stuck in some city during your assessment?!" Celeste gasped, her eyes wide with fascination.

"Well, if not for this human right here, we would have been stuck much longer, if not forever honestly," Violet smiled warmly, her gaze lingering on Leon, "Me and the others owe him our lives for getting us out of there!"

Hearing that, and seeing Violet’s current position and prestige in the kingdom, this suddenly made Leon think about something he hadn’t considered before.

In his past life, Violet, Alicar, Godrick and Oasis had likely been still stuck in the [Forsaken City] without any way to escape, doomed to remain there indefinitely.

In fact, they had probably died without any way to escape the city’s darkness, resulting in them receiving an extremely harsh punishment from the system, enough to instantly end their lives as players permanently.

It was unlikely they’d be able to continue after being weakened so hard after all.

’...Well, who cares about that now, that timeline is gone and they’re alive because of me,’ Leon thought, pushing the thoughts aside.

"Do you know where Oasis and Godrick are right now?" Leon asked the dragon empress, "I got something for them that they might find useful."

He wanted to give the [Magicless Guardian Trap Schematics (Mythical)] for the craftmaster Oasis, who would know exactly what to do with such advanced schematics.

And the [Dark Minotaur Axe (Ancient)] for the demon Godrick, who would appreciate a powerful new weapon.

They would both benefit from these items immensely, and perhaps they could become helpful companions later when the stakes got even higher.

Even if they didn’t directly help in the [Eternal Domain], there were likely ways where they could assist him in other capacities, especially Oasis.

’Her inventions should be useful.’

"They’re not in this domain currently," Violet explained, her expression thoughtful, "But I can send messages to them through the friend list if you need me to..."

"Alright, just tell them that I want to give them something useful that will help them grow stronger, they’ll understand."

"Alright, I’ll make sure to pass that along to them!"

Violet, Godrick, Oasis and Alicar must have been surprised to be back in the [Higher Domains] after all these years of being trapped and realize that the person who helped them, Celestial, was actually a celebrity across all domains.

Violet didn’t show it openly, but it was obvious her reaction upon seeing Leon was even more surprised than before after learning about his reputation and accomplishments.

"Anyway, how did you grow so strong in such a short amount of time?" Leon instantly asked, his eyes glowing with curiosity, "In fact, what level are you now?"

"Level 98," Violet grinned with obvious pride, "I spent the majority of my time here killing monsters constantly, and as for why I’m so strong... Let’s just say that even among the people of [Ember], I am considered extremely special and unique."

That was the only thing she said on the matter, though Leon already assumed she must be someone important there, perhaps even royalty or a chosen one of some kind.

Only a few people, even from eternal-level worlds, could manage to get into a [God-Rank] assessment and survive it for so long, so her achievement was significant.

’SS-Level talent or perhaps... SSS-Level?’ Leon wondered, his mind racing.

Leon didn’t know anybody else beside him with an SSS-Level talent, so he doubted that, but the possibility was there and he couldn’t dismiss it entirely.

"Well, it was good to see you again, Leon," Violet bowed gently out of respect, something she didn’t do to anyone else, a gesture that spoke volumes about how she viewed him, "I hope we can continue seeing each other in the future."

Many of the players seeing her act like this were shocked actually, wondering who this human was.

"Sure," Leon sighed, "I might need you later for something important."

"Feel free to use me as you wish," Violet winked, making both Celeste and Emilia blush at the implications of her words, though Leon remained still and unmoved, "I’d fight a God if it meant helping you out."

Leon’s ears twitched as he heard that statement, and a small smile appeared on his face at her willingness to go so far, "Who knows, maybe you will get that chance, we’ll see each other in the [Eternal Battlefield] anyway when the time comes."

"Perhaps even sooner than that, my popularity started to grow at the [Imperial Arena] when I first came here, maybe you should check it out, I’ll be there tonight."

With that said, Violet said goodbye to the trio and waved her hand as she summoned her magnificent rainbow wings and flew toward the distant castle, leaving the crowd still buzzing with excitement.

"I guess she’s going to see the [Imperial Queen] or whatever," Emilia groaned with clear annoyance, "I don’t like her at all!"

"I don’t know, she seemed kind of... obedient to Leon, though, only to him actually," Celeste observed thoughtfully.

Meanwhile, Leon simply looked into the distance where Violet had disappeared.

Then finally, he grabbed both of Celeste and Emilia’s hands and used the [World Map] to teleport them outside of the kingdom’s walls.

Fwoosh!

After a few seconds of weightless travel through the teleportation stream, they landed on the ground just outside the massive kingdom.

"Show me the areas where the monsters are please," he said gently to the two girls, "I need to level up and farm for items."

"Alright," Emilia nodded, "We’ve been focusing on the level 90 to level 95 area lately, it’s on the plains surrounding the kingdom and there’s plenty of monsters there."

Due to the strategic location of the [Imperial Kingdom] in the middle of the [Hollow Plains], there were dozens of monsters from the surrounding areas that attacked the walls constantly, and the further you went from the kingdom, the more powerful they became.

That is why the guards at the entrance were in fact only a small portion of the total number of guards, with many more stationed along the walls to deal with the constant threats.

After around thirty minutes of walking and reaching far enough from the kingdom, the trio reached the edge of the left wall, where hundreds of guards were currently fighting hordes of monsters that had gathered to attack.

"Wow, I guess their job isn’t as easy as it seemed from the inside... at least those outside actually have to fight," Leon observed.

"We’ve been mainly helping out around here whenever we could," Celeste explained, "This helps us build some reputation with the kingdom and also level up from the constant fighting, it’s pretty cool honestly."

"Yeah, but the strongest monsters of all are apparently right after the kingdom’s outer perimeter, that’s where the highest-ranked guards are since all the monsters there are level 100 and incredibly dangerous."

If the guards fell and the defenses broke, then the kingdom would be invaded by tens of thousands of monsters at once, which would kill millions and force the majority of players to flee for their lives.

"Alright then," Leon grabbed his sword and staff as he looked at the horde of monsters charging toward the walls, "Let’s just deal with this quickly and get some experience."
