Chapter 120: The Myriad Race City Lord Ghorak, A Broken Arm is Nothing!
Chapter 120: Chapter 120: The Myriad Race City Lord Ghorak, A Broken Arm is Nothing!
Leon looked down at his shattered sword and then at his twisted arm.
The bone had clearly snapped from the impact.
The pain should have been unbearable, yet his expression did not change.
With his sword destroyed and his dominant arm broken, it meant one simple thing: he could not fight physically anymore.
“O-Oh shit,” Emilia gasped.
It was the first time she had ever seen Leon truly injured.
Until now, he had always stood at the front, overwhelming enemies with cold precision.
Seeing his weapon shattered and his arm bent unnaturally was shocking.
Worse, she did not have any healing spells. Her magic focused on buffs and offensive power.
“You truly are no match for an orc’s strength, pathetic human,” Ghorak laughed as he stepped forward, rolling his shoulders as if warming up for another strike. “But do not worry. The pain will end soon.”
The moment he had sensed his guards being slaughtered, Ghorak had not hesitated.
As the strongest being in this city, it would have been foolish to sit inside his mansion and wait for invaders to reach him.
He had come personally. And now, seeing Leon injured, his confidence only grew.
Without another word, Ghorak dashed forward.
His massive frame moved far faster than his size suggested.
The machete in his hand sliced through the air as he aimed directly at Leon’s torso.
Divine Beam!
Emilia reacted instantly this time. Light exploded from the tip of her scepter and shot toward Ghorak in a blinding column.
The orc lord clicked his tongue and shifted his path mid charge.
Instead of continuing forward, he pivoted and dodged to the side, the beam barely missing him and striking the ground behind.
The stone exploded where it landed.
’That guy is fast,’ Leon thought calmly. ’He can dodge her spells if he focuses.’
Emilia hurried to Leon’s side, her face pale with worry as she grabbed his uninjured arm.
“Are you hurt?” she asked urgently. Her eyes fell on the twisted limb and she grimaced. “Damn it…”
“It’s fine,” Leon replied with a blank expression. “I don’t feel a thing.”
Compared to what he had endured in his previous life, a broken arm was nothing.
Pain did not scare him. It barely registered anymore.
Still, a broken arm was inconvenient.
Fwoosh!
Leon opened his [Storage Space] and pulled out a small glass vial filled with glowing liquid.
[Healing Potion: May fully heal injuries.]
He had obtained three of these from the [Legendary Treasure Chest] in [Novice Village #1] after being the first to reach level ten.
He had never needed to use them until now. A broken arm was something the potion could handle.
If it had been a severed limb, the situation would have been far more complicated.
Gulp!
He swallowed the potion in one motion.
Warmth flooded his body instantly. It spread from his chest to his shoulders and down into his broken arm.
The twisted bone straightened. The damaged tissue repaired itself.
Within a single second, his arm was completely restored.
Leon flexed his fingers once. Good as new.
’I will need stronger potions in the future,’ he thought calmly.
However, one problem remained: his [Undead Sword +3] was still shattered beyond repair.
Ghorak cracked his knuckles and watched with amusement.
“Well, if you can heal yourself, that simply means I will have to hurt you more,” he laughed loudly. “Come here, guards.”
From different sides of the courtyard, ten more orc guards rushed in.
Their eyes burned with fury as they saw the bodies of their fallen comrades.
“Avenge your brothers if you wish,” Ghorak ordered, pointing his machete toward Emilia. “Leave the human to me. Get rid of the girl.”
The guards roared in unison, their bloodlust filling the air.
“As for you,” Ghorak said, locking eyes with Leon, “your magic will not even scratch me.”
Leon already understood why.
With the [City Lord] talent and his natural racial advantages, Ghorak possessed extremely high magic resistance. Most spells would barely injure him.
This was a troublesome opponent. But Leon would not have come here if he believed he could not win.
’First,’ Leon thought as he glanced at the approaching guards, ’I need a weapon.’
He raised his staff without hesitation.
Storm of Lightning!
The sky above darkened for a split second as bolts of lightning rained down across the courtyard.
Electricity struck the orc guards one after another, surging through their armor and bodies.
Even Ghorak was hit. The orc lord did not move.
The lightning crawled across his skin but he stood firm, a wide grin still on his face.
“Do you not understand?” he began mockingly. “I told you that magic will not do anything to—”
He stopped mid sentence as all ten of his guards were frozen in place. Stunned.
“You…”
He had expected the elf to wield powerful magic, but not the human to do the same.
Before he could react further, Emilia seized the opportunity.
Spectral Flames!
Ghostly fire erupted around the stunned orc guards, engulfing them in pale blue flames.
They could not move. They could not defend themselves.
The flames consumed them completely.
Ding.
[You have killed 10 “Myriad City Orc Guard” and gained 35,000 experience points.]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered…]
The bodies fell one after another.
Ghorak did not even glance at them as he charged forward again.
Emilia’s flames left faint scorch marks on his chest and shoulders, but he barely reacted.
His magic resistance truly was exceptional.
He swung his machete once more at Leon, confident that the human was unarmed.
Clang!
Ghorak’s eyes narrowed as he noticed Leon with a new weapon.
“Too bad,” Leon said with a faint grin, “your guards just gave me a new sword.”
When the ten guards died, ten [Orc Guard Sword] had entered Leon’s [Storage Space].
In the brief moment before Ghorak reached him, Leon had opened his inventory and begun fusing them rapidly.
Fwoosh! Ding!
[You have consumed two identical equipment… enhancement successful.]
Again.
Fwoosh! Ding!
He repeated the process until only one weapon remained.
[Orc Guard Sword +3 (Common): +2,000 Attack, +1,200 Strength, +500 Agility. Requirement: 3,000 Strength.]
The strength requirement was high. For many players, it would have been impossible to wield effectively.
Leon did not have that problem.
With his enhanced attributes and newly upgraded sub talent, his strength easily surpassed the requirement.
Their weapons clashed again. This time, Leon could actually block.
Still, Ghorak’s raw power was monstrous. Each swing carried immense force.
The ground beneath Leon’s feet cracked as he was slowly pushed backward.
“This time,” Ghorak roared as his muscles bulged further, veins standing out along his arms, “I am not moving… You die here, human.”
Leon gritted his teeth slightly as he held the blade steady.
He was stronger, but Ghorak was still overwhelming.
But unlike before, Emilia wouldn’t make the mistake of remaining stunned and doing nothing.
She pointed her scepter directly toward Leon.
Strength Buff!
Immediately, warm light enveloped Leon, and his strength doubled.
Because his base strength was already extremely high, doubling it pushed him to a completely different level.
Leon’s arms steadied. His feet stopped sliding backward. And then he pushed.
Ghorak’s grin faltered as he was forced a step back. Then another.
With a powerful surge, Leon shoved the orc lord several meters away.
“I knew the elf would be annoying,” Ghorak growled, glaring at Emilia with undisguised hostility. “No matter, this changes nothing.”
For a split second, Ghorak closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, they were completely black.
Lord’s Domain!
The air shifted instantly. Darkness spread across the courtyard like a heavy fog.
The sky dimmed. The atmosphere thickened as if something enormous had descended upon them.
Leon felt it immediately. The mana around him disappeared.
“In my domain,” Ghorak said as he flexed his arms and grinned, “no magic is allowed, so show me your true strength.”
Emilia’s eyes widened. She tried to channel aa spell from her scepter, but nothing happened.
Her connection to magic had been cut off entirely.
Leon’s expression darkened slightly.
’This is bad,’ he thought. ’He is much stronger than I expected.’
