Chapter 121: Defeating Ghorak with Magic, S-Level Supreme Strength Enhancement

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Defeating Ghorak with Magic, S-Level Supreme Strength Enhancement

The moment the darkness of the [Lord’s Domain] settled completely around them, Emilia felt it: she couldn’t cast her spells.

She instinctively lifted her scepter and tried to gather mana like she always did.

Divine Beam! Spectral Flames!

Nothing happened. No warmth formed at the tip of her weapon.

It was as if someone had cut an invisible thread that linked her to the world itself.

She tried again, forcing more focus. Still nothing.

Her mana was there inside her body, but she could not draw it out. It felt sealed.

Leon watched her reaction from the corner of his eye and immediately understood what was happening.

’This is the complete opposite of the [Trace of Magic Chamber],’ he thought with a faint grin. ’Instead of cutting off strength, this guy is cutting off magic.’

It was a terrifying ability. Any mage who entered this domain would instantly become useless.

Emilia, who relied heavily on magic for offense, had just lost most of her power in a single moment.

If someone like her were hit by such a restriction during a serious fight, it would immediately turn into a physical battle.

And in a battle of pure strength, Ghorak was among the strongest beings in the entire [Lower Domain].

It was completely unfair. Ghorak’s grin widened as he flexed his arms.

“Without magic, both of you are defenseless,” he declared confidently. “You might as well accept your deaths.”

There was not a hint of doubt in his voice.

No one who had entered his domain had ever survived.

Every invader, every challenger, had fallen the moment their magic disappeared.

And those that didn’t use it to begin with stood no chance either.

“How about this,” Ghorak continued, pointing his machete at Leon. “I will allow a one on one battle between the two of us. You seem strong enough to entertain me.”

Leon did not respond. He simply stared at him.

“Otherwise,” Ghorak added with a cruel smile, “I will kill your girlfriend first and then deal with—”

Powerful Fireball! Ice Spikes!

Before Ghorak could even finish his sentence, a massive fireball formed at the tip of Leon’s staff and shot forward at full speed.

“What?”

Ghorak’s eyes widened.

In the decades he had ruled this city, no one had ever been able to use magic inside his [Lord’s Domain].

And yet…

BOOM!

The fireball exploded directly against his chest. The impact forced him to raise his arm to shield his face as he stumbled backward.

Before he could fully recover, a sharp pillar of ice erupted from the ground behind him.

It did not pierce completely through his body, but it tore into his back hard enough to draw blood.

“You…” Ghorak roared, aura pouring out of his darkened eyes as he glared forward. “You can use magic in my domain?”

But when he focused his gaze forward, Leon was gone.

“Huh?”

Shadow Slash!

Leon appeared behind him as if stepping out of thin air.

His sword was already mid swing, infused with dark energy that shimmered along the blade.

Ghorak reacted fast. He twisted his body and raised his machete to protect his neck.

It was not enough.

SLASH!

The shadow infused strike cut cleanly through one of Ghorak’s arms.

The massive limb fell to the ground with a heavy thud. Blood sprayed across the darkened domain.

Leon did not stay close. He immediately retreated, returning to Emilia’s side to protect her in case Ghorak lashed out blindly.

The reason he could use magic was simple: [Unaffected.]

The passive ability granted by his [Celestial] title prevented him from being altered by rules or status effects that changed how he normally functioned.

Just like it had allowed him to use strength in the [Trace of Magic Chamber], it now allowed him to use magic in the [Lord’s Domain].

The domain could suppress others. It could not suppress him.

Even after losing an arm, Ghorak did not collapse.

His breathing grew heavier, but his eyes burned with fury.

“As long as I land one good hit,” he muttered under his breath, tightening his grip on the machete with his remaining hand, “you die.”

He had already confirmed something: the elf girl could not use magic. Only the human could.

If he eliminated Leon, the battle would end immediately.

With a furious roar, Ghorak dashed forward again.

“Emilia,” Leon said calmly, “buffs are technically not considered as magic.”

That was all he said before rushing forward himself.

Even with only one arm, Ghorak swung his machete with terrifying force.

Their blades collided but…

Strength Buff!

Emilia understood instantly. Even if she could not cast offensive spells, support abilities might not fall under the same restriction.

A surge of energy flowed into Leon. His strength doubled.

Clang!

This time, when their weapons met, Leon did not budge.

Slash! Slash!

They exchanged blow after blow, steel colliding violently in the darkened domain.

Despite having only one arm, Ghorak’s raw power was still monstrous.

Each swing carried crushing force. However, Leon was no longer at a disadvantage.

In fact, he had something Ghorak did not: versatility.

Storm of Elements!

The skill embedded within his [Elemental Dragon Armor] activated, and the environment shifted.

Flames ignited around them, swirling embers dancing through the air.

Water condensed into heavy droplets that disrupted footing.

The ground trembled as earth energy rippled outward.

Violent gusts of wind pushed unpredictably against Ghorak’s movements.

“That is why I hate magic,” Ghorak growled, his expression darkening.

Even though he despised it, he increased the intensity of his attacks. His swings became wilder, stronger, more desperate.

Leon noticed something: [Celestial’s Might] had not activated once more.

There truly seemed to be a third condition he did not fully understand yet, perhaps something related to direct attribute comparison.

Or perhaps it was because Emilia was by his side? It did not matter.

The environmental chaos combined with Leon’s continuous spell casting was overwhelming.

Fireballs detonated at close range. Ice shards erupted from unexpected angles.

Even with immense magic resistance, he was taking damage repeatedly.

And after only about a minute, Ghorak’s body was covered in burns and cuts.

His breathing became ragged. His movements slowed.

Leon seized the opportunity.

With a powerful swing, he knocked the machete out of Ghorak’s hand.

The weapon flew several meters away and embedded itself into the ground.

There was no hesitation. Leon stepped forward and swung horizontally at full force.

“You—”

SLASH!

Ghorak’s head separated from his body.

For a brief second, the massive figure remained standing. Then it collapsed.

Ding!

[You have killed “Myriad Race City Lord, Ghorak” and gained 400,000 experience points.]

[100% Drop Rate has triggered…]

The darkness of the [Lord’s Domain] slowly faded as the skill ended with its caster’s death.

Light returned to the courtyard. Leon and Emilia both felt their experience bars surge upward.

Ding.

[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 42 + Level 43 + Level 44!]

[Due to “Heaven’s Blessing,” you have gained 600 points in all attributes and 600 free points to distribute.]

“Nice,” Leon muttered.

He was now only six levels away from level fifty. Emilia was even closer, only four.

Without wasting time, Leon opened his [Storage Space].

The drops appeared clearly.

[Orc Lord Machete (Epic): +3,000 Attack, +1,700 Strength. Requirement: 5,000 Strength.]

[Sub-Talent Scroll: Mega Spirit Enhancement (A-Level).]

Those were the standard rewards. But beside them was the item he truly wanted.

[Orc Lord Orb (Legendary): Go through the “Orc Trial of Strength” that native orcs usually undergo in the “Lower Domain” and a reward shall be granted based on your performance.]

“Here it is,” Leon said with a satisfied grin. “Perfect.”

Ghorak had become the city lord because he achieved the best score in this trial.

If Leon surpassed that score, then the reward could be even greater.

There were rumors that the highest possible reward was a sword that massively boosted strength.

That was exactly what he needed before heading toward the [Farlands] or attempting his third assessment.

For now, though, he equipped the [Orc Lord Machete].

Its raw stats still made it his strongest available weapon, and he met the requirement.

Then he turned his attention to the sub talent scroll.

“…One can only hope,” he murmured with a faint grin.

He could have used the [Enhancement Frenzy Liquid] to guarantee a higher evolution.

An S Level sub talent would drastically increase his power.

But he decided not to use it yet, even on such a powerful upgrade as there were much more important things in the future to use it on.

He would rely on his luck instead. He pulled the scroll out and poured mana into it.

The parchment glowed brightly.

And then—

Ding!

[Fusion successful.]

Leon’s eyes widened.

“Holy shit… I actually did it.”

Ding.

[You have evolved “Mega Strength Enhancement (A-Level)” to “Supreme Strength Enhancement (S-Level).”]

[Supreme Strength Enhancement (S-Level): Permanently increases Strength by 200%.]

Leon stared at the panel in silence.

Two hundred percent. His strength had just tripled compared to his base value.

“Damn…”
