Chapter 119: Killing The Orc Guards, A-Level Mega Strength Enhancement
Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Killing The Orc Guards, A-Level Mega Strength Enhancement
Slash! Boom!
Steel cut through flesh and bone while spells shook the entrance of the [Lord Mansion].
The wide stone courtyard in front of the building had already turned into a battlefield.
Orc guards rushed forward in waves, roaring and swinging their weapons, but neither Leon nor Emilia showed the slightest hesitation anymore.
At this point, killing had become routine.
The two of them moved with cold efficiency.
Leon stepped forward and sliced through an orc’s chest as if he were cutting through paper.
Emilia raised her staff and released a burst of magic that blasted three guards away at once.
Blood stained the stone floor. Heavy bodies fell one after another.
At this point, they were used to kill monsters and natives alike.
Because even though Earth and Verdia used to be extremely peaceful worlds, now that they were here, it didn’t matter.
This world was not Earth, and it did not care about morals, laws, or the comfort of peaceful societies.
In [Eternal Ascension], killing others was the only way forward.
Players had to abandon their old beliefs or be swallowed by the system.
Leon understood that better than most.
He had adapted quickly. Too quickly, perhaps.
For Leon, he already knew that, as he was used to it and had become desensitized.
What surprised him more was Emilia. She had grown up in a far more peaceful environment.
She had not been exposed to violence the way Leon had.
And yet, here she was, blasting apart orc guards without flinching.
There was no trembling in her hands. No pause in her spells.
She had accepted this world just as quickly as he had.
The last orc guard tried to run, but Leon stepped forward and drove his blade straight through its back.
The courtyard fell silent.
After only around a minute, dozens of bodies lay scattered across the stone ground.
Ding.
[You have killed 32 “Myriad City Orc Guard” and gained 128,000 experience points.]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered…]
Ding.
[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 41!]
[Due to “Heaven’s Blessing”, you have gained 200 points in all attributes and 200 free points to distribute.]
The familiar wave of warmth spread through Leon’s body as his attributes rose.
But the notifications were not done yet.
Ding!
[“Celestial Hand” has activated on “Myriad City Orc Guard”]
Leon narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Oh? I guess it does work on natives too. I should have expected that.”
The description of [Celestial Hand] clearly said “enemy.” It did not specify monsters only.
Still, seeing it activate on actual intelligent natives confirmed something important.
If it worked on them, then the potential was far greater than he originally thought.
He doubted it would trigger on real players. If it did, that would be terrifying.
But for now, this was already enough.
Without hesitation, Leon selected the sub-talents from the fallen orc guards.
The equipment and materials were mediocre at best, but the sub-talents had value.
Celestial Hand!
Several glowing, semi-transparent hands burst out from Leon’s chest.
They stretched forward and plunged into the corpses of the orcs, as if reaching into another layer of existence.
Fwoosh!
The hands retracted, pulling invisible rewards into Leon’s inventory.
Leon opened his inventory panel and frowned slightly. It was getting crowded.
[Orc Guard Armor x32 (Uncommon)], [Orc Guard Sword x32 (Common)], and [Sub-Talent Scroll: x36 Strength Enhancement (C-Level)] filled up most of the remaining space.
The equipment was not bad for average players, but for Leon, it wasn’t that good except for the [Orc Guard Sword].
And it was only slightly better than his current one.
’I’ll be able to obtain a much better sword very soon,’ he thought, ’Might as well sell them.’
Instead of keeping them, he immediately opened the [Trading House] interface.
He placed all the unnecessary items for sale, including the remaining [Star Mage Staffs] he had acquired earlier and several pieces of gear he did not need.
He kept only materials and anything that had long-term potential.
The moment he confirmed the listings, before he even had time to close the panel, notifications began flooding in.
Ding.
[You have sold x10 “Orc Guard Armor” for 3,000 Eternal Coins.]
[You have sold “Star Mage Staff +4” for 2,200 Eternal Coins.]
“…Damn.”
The notifications continued one after another.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Each item he listed was being purchased almost instantly.
Within moments, everything was gone. Leon let out a low whistle.
“I think I underestimated the reach my ID has.”
Players in [Lower Domain #1] recognized him.
Whether out of admiration, curiosity, or greed, they were watching his listings.
Anything he sold was also extremely useful for other players who couldn’t get enemies to drop items.
The [Trading House] was currently limited to [Lower Domain #1] only. It did not connect to the other domains.
Leon could only imagine what would happen if the system opened it to everyone across all Lower Domains.
The competition would be brutal.
And that was exactly why the [Higher Domain] was far more dangerous.
The markets were interconnected. Strong players from countless regions competed directly.
For now, though, Leon checked his balance.
[Eternal Coins: 39,296]
“Nice.”
That was a substantial amount for the [Lower Domain].
With that many coins, he could upgrade his [Storage Space] again, adding ten more slots.
But Leon did not do it immediately. He closed the panel and shook his head slightly.
“I’ll need far more than this in the future,” he muttered. “This is not nearly enough.”
Upgrading blindly now might limit him later if something more important appeared.
After that, his attention shifted to the sub-talent scrolls.
He picked up four of them and tossed them toward Emilia.
“Here. I know you don’t rely on Strength much, but it is still useful to have.”
Emilia caught them and smiled brightly.
“Thanks.”
She immediately poured her mana into one of the scrolls.
The parchment dissolved into light and flowed into her body.
Then she used the remaining scrolls to fuse and upgrade it.
Beep!
Two fusions failed. She tried again.
Ding!
This time, it succeeded.
By the end, her Strength Enhancement sub-talent had risen to B-Level.
Even if she was primarily a mage, extra strength meant better survivability.
If she ever needed to wield a weapon or resist physical force, it would help.
As for Leon, he focused on his own stack of scrolls. He began fusing them methodically.
Ding!
[Fusion successful.]
Beep!
[Fusion failed.]
Again.
Ding! Beep!
The failures did not bother him. He had enough scrolls to brute-force his way upward.
Eventually, only a handful remained.
[Sub-Talent Scrolls: x6 Super Strength Enhancement (B-Level), Mega Strength Enhancement (A-Level)]
A slow grin spread across his face.
“Nice.”
He did not hesitate. Leon poured his mana into the A-Level scroll and tore it apart.
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have upgraded your “Super Strength Enhancement (B-Level)” sub-talent to “Mega Strength Enhancement (A-Level)”]
[Mega Strength Enhancement (A-Level): Permanently increases strength by 100%.]
A surge of power flooded through his body.
If his sword strikes had been deadly before, they were now monstrous.
Satisfied, Leon closed his panels and looked toward the towering structure ahead.
The [Lord’s Mansion] stood tall, built from dark stone, radiating authority and intimidation.
He stepped forward.
“I want to finish this quickly,” he said quietly.
The [Orc Lord Orb] was dropped directly by the city’s ruler.
There was no way around it. To obtain it, he had to defeat the lord himself.
They moved through the courtyard carefully.
Then, without warning, a deep voice echoed behind them.
“I see now…”
The air shifted. A massive figure appeared behind Leon and Emilia as if he had been standing there the entire time.
“I will get rid of the girl first, she seems annoying.”
Leon’s instincts screamed. He spun around instantly.
The being standing before them was enormous, nearly two and a half meters tall.
His skin was deep green. Thick muscles covered his entire body, veins clearly visible under his skin.
He wore nothing on his chest, only a pair of dark pants. His presence alone felt crushing.
Leon activated Appraisal immediately.
—
[Myriad Race City Lord, Ghorak]
[Level: 50]
[Exclusive Talent: Orc City Lord (A-Level)]
[Talent: Mega Strength Enhancement (A-Level)]
[Combat Power: 285,000]
[Details: The lord of “Myriad Race City” and one of the strongest natives in the “Lower Domain”, able to overpower almost anyone thanks to his incredible strength.]
—
Two hundred eighty-five thousand combat power. Leon’s pupils shrank slightly.
Swash!
Ghorak swung a massive machete engraved with a skull symbol.
The blade cut through the air and aimed directly at Emilia’s neck without hesitation.
Emilia barely had time to react.
The sheer aura behind that attack told Leon everything he needed to know.
If that blade landed cleanly, she would not survive, or at least be massively injured.
Leon moved instantly.
Slash!
He stepped in front of Emilia and swung his own sword upward, intercepting the machete.
The two weapons collided violently.
Clang!
The impact shook the ground.
“Ah!” Emilia stumbled backward in shock. “O-Oh shit!”
“Not bad,” Ghorak said with a savage grin as he pressed down harder. “But unfortunately, you are just a human.”
The pressure increased. Leon felt it immediately.
Despite his newly doubled strength, despite his upgrades, the force behind Ghorak’s swing was overwhelming.
Bam!
Ghorak forced Leon back several steps with raw power alone.
At least Emilia was safe. That was enough for now.
Leon steadied himself and glanced down instinctively.
“Oh.”
His expression froze. His [Undead Sword +3] had shattered completely from the clash.
Fragments of blackened steel fell to the ground.
But that was not the worst part: Leon’s arm hung at an unnatural angle. The bones were broken.
The impact had not only destroyed his weapon. It had crushed his arm as well.
And Ghorak was still smiling.
