Chapter 3060: The Underground Prison IV

"A steam chamber that gives instant death." Adrian commented.

"It is also a lava pool, cousin. Still, the dungeon at least has a pathway that leads to the next stage. It seems we just need to pass through this place and we will arrive at the next floor." Apolaki commented as he is now slight recovered from being weakened.

"Did you think it was that simple? Sirius, please show the danger once again." Adrian stated.

"As the master wishes." Sirius stated as he came out of Adrian’s shadow and jumped to the middle of the stone bridge.

As soon as Sirius appeared in the stone bridge, worms that had bodies made of stone and lava came out of the lava pools from both sides. These were legitimate monsters compared to the vines and thickets earlier. The monsters that came out did not charge at Sirius though as they spat out lava from a distance instead.

If one is fast enough then they would be able to dodge but all of the monsters were spitting out lava that could snipe even a fast-flying bird. Sirius had to hide in the shadows once again in order to dodge as even his speed would be able to dodge it. This dungeon floor is not just a test of speed but actual strategy on how to make those monsters not attack you while passing through.

"Can we actually go over that?" Maya asked as she cannot react that fast.

"We could. I have a way for myself but I guess that could work too." Adrian stated as he thought of two solutions to the problem.

"Please explain, big cousin." Tala asked with cute beady eyes.

"One way is to reverse the temperature of the entire area by having Kanlaon freeze everything. Of course, it would also result in a powerful steam explosion that could obliterate the entire floor." Adrian stated.

"Maybe the next one which does not endanger all of us as we do not know how the dungeon will react. Also, a spell that powerful would definitely take a toll towards Kanlaon and weaken him." Maya stated.

"Yeah, but that is what I thought up first which is why the second one is the most viable." Adrian replied.

"The next one then." Apolaki added.

"The next one is the cleanest procedure. I will utilize my abilities as a demon to basically cheat our way to the other side. I shall now proceed to give a demonstration as it would be easier since I am only connecting the space inside the dungeon anyways." Adrian stated as he suddenly snapped his fingers and a spatial fracture appeared before him.

Adrian then proceeded to stop time using Time Stop and then unfurled his wings. With the boost from his wings, Adrian flew with incredible speed and reached the other side of the bridge in under ten seconds. Time flew normally once again and his party noticed that Adrian was no longer beside them but on the other end of the stone path.

Adrian then punched another spatial fracture in front of him which connected to the first one that he created at the other side. He stepped inside the spatial fracture and appeared before Apolaki, Maya, and Tala. He checked if there would be any activity from the monsters that spew lava but there was nothing. It seems that their trigger is actually a being passing through the stone path.

"Let us go. I already cleared the path." Adrian stated as he wanted to see if they can trigger the hidden achievement doing this.

If they do not trigger the hidden achievement then they could just try the other attempt. They need to see if this attempt will give them the hidden achievement first. It is not like they cannot retry at all or destroy the floor. This is not a dungeon that closes out the previous floor that has already been cleared.

"Strange. There is no notification at all. Let us try entering the cavern thet leads to the next floor and see." Adrian stated.

Adrian thought that they did not trigger the hidden achievement as they were not getting anything until they had at least five steps away from the third-floor exit. The sound of multiple notifications popping up could be heard from each of them. They actually triggered the hidden achievement just in time.

[You have successfully cleared the third floor of this dungeon without getting injured.]

[A hidden achievement has been completed. You will be rewarded by a Dungeon Buff.]

[There are two existing Dungeon Buffs have been detected but they are also from the same dungeon. The new buff can be stacked with the existing dungeon buffs.]

[Dungeon Buff: Cold and Thick Skinned has been given to all members of the party.]

[Cold and Thick Skinned: All players that have this buff will have 50% increase in heat resistance. Stamina consumption in areas that are high in temperature will be slowed down. Physical damage is also decreased by 5%.]

Adrian could not believe that all three dungeon buffs are actually stacking up. He would have been jumping for joy right now but he is also afraid. A dungeon that gives stacking buffs that are powerful should be something that is incredibly difficult. He has speculated but three buffs stacking with each other is proof enough.

"We got the hidden achievement!" Tala rejoiced and the others smiled as well as they saw the smiling face of their youngest member.

"I am glad but I am suddenly getting more afraid that the buffs are actually incredibly powerful. This dungeon is basically making us prepare for the most powerful boss monster. I am starting to doubt that we could even defeat that boss on our own." Apolaki stated.

"Let us just do our best for now. The fourth floor is already up ahead." Adrian stated as all of them reached the end of the tunnel.

Adrian thought that all of them will go deeper to a hotter area but all of them literally froze upon arriving at the fourth floor. All of the preconceptions were shattered when a literal blast of cold win hit them in the face. The entire fourth floor is actually a place where ice forms on the walls and the entire area are freezing cold.

"This next place is so vast. I can sense some life signs but I do not know if they are beneficial or literal monsters to kill." Adrian stated and his words actually became the catalyst.

A vast worm like monster that has a body made up of the stone walls present in the fourth floor. When all of them looked closer, the monsters were actually some sort of serpent that also looks like worm. The most terrifying thing is that the monster that came out had a body that is aas thick as a building.

"Damn! That thing is huge!" Apolaki commented which made Maya look at him but the latter did not say anything else as they were now in a state of chaos.

The entire fourth floor is still a cavern but it is like a large quarry in size. Still, Adrian immediately looks up at the monster before them. They needed to know what it is in order to find a plan to defeat it. The huge monster then opened its mouth and in it is a large eyeball that would horrify anyone that sees it.

Monster Name: Frigid Deep Scaled Worm

Description: A monster that is said to live in the depths of the earth where the coldness is so polarizing. It has a vast appetite for all of the minerals that are cold in nature.

"It is still a worm. Anyways, let us all take it down while we still have some space." Adrian stated as if his commands were alread engraved in their minds.

SQQUEEE!

The Frigid Deep Scaled Worm released a powerful cry which also made the others panic but it was dispelled easily. The buff they received in the second floor actually came at a clutch. All of them would have been trapped in a daze if they did not have the buff. They did not get affected by the mental ailment as the buffs given to them earlier is top of the line.

The Frigid Deep Scaled Worm immediately charged head on when it released its screech. It seems to have been used to the fact that all of its prey to be dazed. It did not expect that Kanlaon to suddenly revert back to his real size and blast it directly with a dragon breath. The Frigid Deep Scaled Worm screeched in pain as the dragon breath was precise and powerful.

Kanlaon’s dragon breath did not kill the Frigid Deep Scaled Worm but it was able to puncture one of its body parts. Cold blood from the Frigid Deep Scaled Worm seeped out of its body but it actually performed a weird movement instead of fleeing. The Frigid Deep Scaled Worm shook its body and the part that was punctured was destroyed and the other parts of its body reconnected like nothing happened.
