Chapter 3059: The Underground Prison III

A hidden achievement was made just by clearing the second floor of all the vines. Adrian immediately noted this down because this is something that is not normal. A dungeon of this difficulty should not offer a hidden achievement so easily in just the second floor. A hidden achievement usually needs at least defeating the mini-boss and deeper dungeon floors.

[A hidden achievement has been completed. You will be rewarded by a Dungeon Buff.]

[Dungeon Buff: Clear Mind has been given to all members of the party.]

[Clear Mind: Increase 50% resistances for all mind related skills and abilities that a can affect the buff holder. This buff can only be useful in this current dungeon and will vanish once the buff holder has left.]

"Wait." Adrian immediately stated before they progressed as a buff this big does not sit right with him.

"You also found it odd." Apolaki stated as he is the most experienced compared to Adrian’s other cousin.

"Yes. This is not a dungeon that can be overlooked now. All of the things that happened just in the second floor is already something that should happen at dungeons with at least ten floors below. The fact that it is happening just in the second floor means the succeeding floors should also have hidden achievements. These hidden achievements might be related to clearing this dungeon." Adrian stated.

A dungeon that has hidden achievements that gives powerful buffs meant that the boss monster should be a very powerful one. If just the first hidden achievement they received gave 50% increase in resistance, then the monster at the very depths is fierce. Adrian knew that this cannot be a coincidence and that the boss monster might not be conquerable unless they gather most of the hidden achievements.

"Starting now... we shall move with caution and also go back into the first floor. We might have missed a hidden achievement there as well. Let us go back and check while Apolaki is still resting. The three of us should be enough." Adrian stated.

"Ehem... four. You did not count me, great summoner." Bunn Bunn stated.

"Oh! Sorry about that. Since you and my cousin are sharing a soul, I counted you as one being." Adrian replied.

"I see... then the great summoner is not wrong." Bunn Bunn replied as he got embarrassed which made the other chuckle and lightened the mood.

"As expected, there really is a hidden achievement in the first floor as well. Just because it was empty did not mean that nothing is really in it." Adrian stated as Tala brought back a rock that is actually a monster called a Deep Rock Beetle.

A Deep Rock Beetle is so difficult to spot that they are often seen as normal rocks. They also go to places where it is difficult to spot and they basically give no experience or drops. Due to this, players often ignore it but it also has a very good ability. The Deep Rock Beetle could hibernate to a state of incredibly near death that even Adrian could not detect its life force earlier and mistaken it for a rock.

[An existing Dungeon Buff has been detected but it is also from the same dungeon. The new buff can be stacked with the existing dungeon buff.]

[Dungeon Buff: Hidden in the Dark has been given to all members of the party.]

[Hidden in the Dark: Gain the Dark Sight when inside the current dungeon. Increase 10% of getting better loot for the entire dungeon run.]

Adrian did not really need the Dark Sight as he could see like it is daytime inside the dungeon but it is not the same for his companions. The others have Night Vision skill but it is only seeing slightly better in the dark. With the Dark Sight given to them temporarily, all of Adrian’s companions can also see as well as him in the dark. The added increase in better loot chances is also good but all the beings they fought did not even drop anything yet.

"The most important thing is that this dungeon gives stacking buffs. I am suddenly feeling that the dungeon boss is something at a level that cannot be defeated at all. A greater god level being is not something that can be easily overlooked now that they have the ability to enact laws in the world. Fighting a god now is not like fighting a god before." Adrian thought as he knew everything is now different.

Some players actually challenged lesser gods into battle as they wanted those gods to be enslaved. What they did not expect is that even a hundred high leveled players with some demigods are still not enough. As soon as the lesser gods used their ability to use laws, even demigods got killed easily. A quest that basically gets you killed, and a dungeon that gives stacking buffs are never a good sign.

"I will just cleanly tell them once we go back down to the second floor." Adrian muttered as they returned back to check on Apolaki.

"You guys took a while. It has been an hour and a half and I suddenly got bored." Apolaki stated.

"Everyone, huddle up. I need to be honest with you based on the data I have collected." Adrian stated with a serious tone which made the others go serious as well.

Adrian explained everything that he has deduced based on the situation. All of his cousins could only be at awe at Adrian’s mind as if it was always working on overtime. They knew that their cousin was smart as he did get accepted at the country’ prestigious universities but they now know it was not luck. Maya even thought that Adrian would have been pushed to the military by their grandfather if he knew how is mind works.

"Which is why, I want to ask all of you if we should still proceed?" Adrian asked as this dungeon is not simple. He is not really at a hurry in getting the next elementum since he just recently acquired the one.

"We are already here. We should just push through. So, what if we died, at the very least... we had fun." Apolaki stated.

"You really had become more laid back now compared to before." Adrian stated as he noticed that Apolaki was not this carefree.

"It is probably due to grandfather being always at a good mood that he does not push us to the point of death in training. Grandfather has also become gentler to us, the grandchildren. He was always kind and caring to us but he also pushes us a lot but he has become mellower now." Maya stated.

"Grandpa has become happier that is all." Tala stated which made the others smile because they know the reason.

"What about the two of you, then? Will you still want to proceed with this dungeon? We can just find another activity if both of you do not want to continue." Adrian asked Maya and Tala.

"Continue! It is fun!" Tala stated cheerfully.

"I do not mind continuing since we are already here. I barely get to do anything yet so I am actually a bit antsy." Maya replied.

"Okay then. Since all of us want this to continue then we shall proceed to the next area." Adrian stated as all of them moved to the cavern that leads deeper. Apolaki could be seen being carried by Sirius while Saena is slowly healing his body.

"Since we now know that this dungeon has a large difficulty spike, we can no longer be as careless as before. No more using a skill that can wipe out an entire floor if the backlash is this intense." Adrian stated.

"I am almost recovered from the weakening so you do not need to say anything else." Apolaki interjected.

"Just listen when you are being given advice. No need to put on airs because having a deadweight will bring all of us down." Maya stated in a calm tone but that was still a critical strike to Apolaki’s ego.

"Fine. I shall listen." Apolaki replied and all of them suddenly got hit by blasts of steam upon entering the third floor.

The third floor of the dungeon is not like the second floor that is covered with vine and thickets that can kill you. The third floor is a literal steam hell as every other spot has holes. Each of the holes blows powerful steam with differing heat levels. If Adrian did not have such powerful resistances, then his skin would have been burned.

Adrian then looked around and the entire floor is not just steam blowing at irregular intervals. He also detected life signs in this third floor and all of them are hidden in the two large lava pools on either of their sides. At the center of this floor is a pathway of stone and a door to the next floor at the end of it.
