Chapter 2771: Ragnarok IX

“No need to learn who they are because you will know later. Just perform your duties and everything will be clear.” Adrian stated as he started to prepare for the cleansing.

“I shall perform my duties well as penance for my lack of clarity regarding my personal matters.” The Goddess of Death Hel stated as she vanished from sight but she was collecting all of the fallen souls that are in the battlefield.

With the appearance of the Goddess of Death Hel, the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki thought that she had forgotten what he had done and is about to help her father but the former thought wrong. The Goddess of Death Hel ignored the call of her father and performed her duties while ignoring the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki. The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki could not believe that he created a goddess that so ungrateful but he was battling the Flame Giant Surtr at the moment and cannot think of anything else.

The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki noticed this since earlier but he cannot overpower the Flame Giant Surtr. In fact, the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki is getting slowly overpowered by the enemy when he should be the one that is growing stronger because he is a titan. Titans should become stronger with more gods appearing in the area but the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki soon learned why he was weakening.

The gods that should be battling with the monster wolves controlled by the World Boss Fenrir Unchained are almost decimated. The gods of war and gods of justice rescued the God of War Ares and the Goddess of Justice Nemesis from the ice cages. The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki could not finish them off as the Flame Giant Surtr is currently battling him. What the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki noticed is that the enemy faction is retreating slowly to the side.

“What is happening?” The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki thought as he could see that the only ones in the center are his allies.

The monster wolves are decimated by Adrian’s soulbounds and would have been killed off permanently if the Asuras and the Fomorians did not intervene. The divine beings that sided with the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki are making it difficult for the actual plan that the Flame Giant Surtr has told him. Still, with the allied army already at the edges of Asgard, the Flame Giant Surtr knew that it was time.

The Flame Giant Surtr did not use any powerful attacks when it was trading attacks with the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki earlier. This prompted the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki to also conserve soke of his strength as he knew that his enemy is a powerful god. What the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki did not expect is that the Flame Giant Surtr suddenly exploded in power as his entire body became covered in flames.

“With this blade, I shall destroy Asgard as prophesized. For the glory of the Jotunn race that was hunted down by the scoundrels that you are!” The Flame Giant Surtr shouted as his flaming sword is plunged onto the ground where Asgard stands.

The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki did not understand why the Flame Giant Surtr did not attack him with his enhanced sword but he soon found out why. The divine realm of Asgard which should have the ability to regenerate as long as divine energy or mana is poured into it suddenly started to explode with lava geysers. The divine realm itself was being destroyed by the Flame Giant Surtr which should have been impossible as Asgard is a divine realm crafted by numerous gods.

“You must be wondering why I can destroy Asgard like this. Remember that I am the Prophesized destroyer of Asgard that the Norns have dictated since time immemorial. Even if I was killed multiple times by Odin and his son, I revived in Muspelheim over and over again because I have a purpose. I am the destruction of Asgard itself which means I can destroy this divine realm and as such destroy myself as well!” The Flame Giant Surtr stated which made all of those inside of Asgard shudder because they were going to be swept away as well.

The Asuras and the Fomorians tried to escape but the Flame Giant Surtr created a powerful wall of flames in the entire area of Asgard. The flames could even burn a divine being and render them powerless which can make them prey for those warriors outside of the area. It was then when the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki noticed why the northern armies have already retreated because they have been told of what will happen.

“NO! THIS CANNOT BE! MY KINGDOM CANNOT BE DESTROYED BY A PUNY SOLITARY GOD!” The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki shouted as he summoned all of his power to try and freeze the area as this would definitely stop whatever the Flame Giant Surtr is doing.

Just as the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki is about to attack the Flame Giant Surtr, a flaming fist suddenly met with the titan’s face. The Flame Giant Surtr separated his divine body with his divine soul. The divine body of the Flame Giant Surtr would continue the destruction of Asgard while his divine soul will fight it out with the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki.

The Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki laughed because the divine soul of a god is more prone to danger than their divine bodies. The divine soul of a god is also damaged greatly with other divine energies which meant that the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki have a chance to kill the Flame Giant Surtr before he destroys the entirety of Asgard. Still, the Titan of Ice and Mischief Loki did not want to take no chances which is why he commanded his first son to tear off the body of the Flame Giant Surtr.
