Chapter 2682: Fallen Goddess Izanami II

“Oho! This new Envoy of Death is interesting. The fact that he could still detect me even in this state means that he is closer to death. Does being an undead help him? No, it should be his pure talent. If being undead were the case then that witch there would have already sensed me. Should I agree to help his summons?” King Yama stated as he smiled.

King Yama already knows about Creepysoo because he is one of the beloved children of the gods of death. By beloved children, it meant that he is the one always being chosen to do small chores for the gods of death but that also granted him their affection. Getting affection from Baron Samedi and Ah Puch is not normal for any being. They are the ficklest of the gods of death and would actually send you to the afterlife if you offended them.

“I guess I should test him. I shall assist him in getting the energy signature of that witch. If he managed to defeat her with just that then it might be worth having a contract with him.” King Yama stated as he released a white flame that slithered towards Creepysoo.

[The nearby god of death has answered your call.]

[You have been given the spell Flames of Insight.]

“Huh! They answered my call but only gave a skill instead of being called themselves. I guess this one is testing me like what the others did. Then again, I am not familiar with any of the gods of death in the eastern continent but this skill is definitely helpful to us.” Creepysoo thought as he then looked towards his team members.

“I have a skill tBhat can reveal the whereabouts of the Fallen Goddess Izanami. The only problem right now is the fact that I might be targeted while performing it. Also, we need to quickly kill her once she appears. Can you guys, do it?” Creepysoo asked.

“I shall protect you while you chant.” Gourmet stated as he suddenly chugged some wine and his entire body enlarged while also doubling his stats.

“I shall set everything up in advance.” Hexy stated as she formed a cocoon around her in the shape of a black rose.

Thorny vines suddenly scattered in the entire area as everything around them has been cursed. The only one’s immunes to the curses are her allies but it also makes her easily targeted. Still, she can release curses in this state and apply it into the entire area.

[Hexy has applied Curse of Slowness in the area.]

[All movement speed of enemies will be decreased by 40%.]

[Hexy has applied Curse of Immobility in the area.]

[All movement speed of enemies will be decreased by 50% with a chance of paralyzing enemies standing inside the area for two seconds.]

“Let us enhance the curses!” Brew shouted as he started throwing our dark vials of eerie looking liquid.

[Brew has enhanced the Curse of Slowness affecting the area. The effect is doubled for five minutes.]

[Brew has enhanced the Curse of Immobility in the area. The effect is doubled for five minutes.]

The Fallen Goddess Izanami already felt it as her movements became slower. She is still physically in the mortal realm which means that any effects on the area will affect her. She knew that if she were to exit her stealth state then the cursed land’s effects will become stronger to her. She needed did not want to do it but she needed to take her time to get closer.

“I can just nip the bud of that fairy! She is unprotected in her current state as they seem to be focusing on the necromancer.” The Fallen Goddess Izanami thought as she moved closer to the black rose encapsulating Hexy.

The Fallen Goddess Izanami was slow but she was able to reach the black rose without any issues. She was about to cull the black rose when she felt a familiar energy near her. She looked towards the necromancer’s direction and saw these fearsome white flames that reminded her of the underworld. These flames felt familiar to her because these are the flames that hunted her down when she first fell to the underworld.

The Fallen Goddess Izanami suddenly felt anger rush to her head as the anguish she felt from these flames haunted her. She then saw that it was the necromancer utilizing them and suddenly felt a premonition of danger befalling her. The anger that was supposed to explode within her suddenly became fear. She knew the effects of those flames and instantly or rather instinctively changed course to the opposite direction.

The Fallen Goddess Izanami did not account that the curse is stronger at the center of it. She would have already moved away from the area if she did not get close to the black rose. She could kill the black fairy but that will also mean that she would be affected by those white flames. If those white flames really are the one that she knows of then she would never be able to escape this battlefield.

The problem is that the Fallen Goddess Izanami is not good with quick decisions. It might seem like her thinking capability has been affected by her being sent to the underworld. She was slow witted if one were to describe her which is why she is usually one dimensional and only focuses on one thing. This would be a good trait for an assassin but a bad one if you need to make quick decisions in a battlefield.

“Flames of Insight!” Creepysoo shouted as he did not need to do much chanting for the spell since it was given as a gift by the nearby god of death.

“NO!” The Fallen Goddess Izanami shouted as white flames suddenly expanded to the entire area.

The white flames actually engulfed the battlefield around Creepysoo and the others. One could say that it covered half the entire battlefield with white flames. At first there was panic as white flames surged towards them without warning but there was no damage received. One just thought that an Illusion Master used a spell to conjure up an illusion to halt enemies or something but that is not true.

[The Flames of Insight has swept through the area.]

[All beings invisible to the caster will now be revealed.]

The Flames of Insight reveals all invisible beings and even things to the caster. All of the assassin type enemies suddenly found themselves being seen. This meant that all the assassin type fallen gods were now at the mercy of those that cannot see them earlier. Even the Fallen Goddess Izanami could now be seen clearly as she is now a few meters away from the black rose.

“You were here all along!” Gourmet shouted as he was the first one to charge.

Gourmet held his large chef knife and planned to cleave the Fallen Goddess Izanami but he failed. The cleaver in Gourmet’s hand was easily intercepted by one of the Fallen Goddess Izanami sickles. She might be visible to them and slowed down but she was never weakened in the first place. She still has the strength of a greater god.

“Why did I even try to run in the first place?! It is not like you are that ferocious god of death that hunted me down. I can just kill all of you here and now with just my strength.” The Fallen Goddess Izanami muttered as her eyes turned crazy.

[The Fallen Goddess Izanami has entered her berserk state due to a traumatizing event.]

The Fallen Goddess Izanami used her other sickle to cut Gourmet but he managed to retrieve his weapon by making it smaller to block the attack. The simple act of blocking the attack of the Fallen Goddess Izanami sent Gourmet flying backwards with great speed. The Fallen Goddess Izanami suddenly looked at the Black Rose and aimed for it as destroying it meant that she will be able to move as quickly as before.

Just as the Fallen Goddess Izanami is about to make a slash on the black rose, a powerful blast of wind and lightning suddenly hit her. The Fallen Goddess Izanami managed to defend herself by using her own internal energy as a barrier but she was still knocked back and her attack was cancelled. Since she was in a berserk state, the Fallen Goddess Izanami did not even try to check on who attacked her but sent one of her sickles flying towards the aggressor.

The aggressor in question was none other than the Azure Dragon of the East. It instantly arrived at the location of the Fallen Goddess Izanami because it wanted revenge. The Fallen Goddess Izanami was the one that drove it to death previously and it wanted to be the one to kill her this time around. The Azure Dragon of the East flicked the sickle with its tail and mocked the Fallen Goddess Izanami.

“I wanted to kill you while you maintained your sanity but it seems you already have none in the first place.” The Azure Dragon of the East stated as it blasted the Fallen Goddess Izanami with its dragon breath.
