Chapter 2681: Fallen Goddess Izanami I

Hexy’s body that is supposed to have her head cut off suddenly turned into a doll with its head severed instead. The real Hexy is teleported next to Creepysoo with Voodoo Marie next to him. This was a life saving skill that Voodoo Marie has and it can be applied to a total of two targets. One of the targets is Hexy as she is the most vulnerable against sneak attacks and the other is Creepysoo.

This skill exchanges the body of the target with a voodoo doll when they receive fatal damage. The original target will receive 20% maximum non-fatal health as damage while the voodoo doll with receive the fatal damage in return. The Fallen Goddess Izanami did not know of this skill as this is a very rare skill in the Undead Voodoo Queen line. In the end, the Fallen Goddess Izanami is correct in her hunch that she did not kill Hexy.

Hexy is also shocked to suddenly find herself teleported to Creepysoo as she was not under the impression that she was affected by a skill. She once again looked at the undead knights under Creepysoo and could not believe that they were very powerful in their own right. Still, the life saving skill called Voodoo Switcheroo has a long, fixed cooldown of one day. This means that if Hexy receives another fatal strike then she will die surely this time.

“So, she is still alive! I thought that I finished her off but I was mistaken.” The Fallen Goddess Izanami stated as she once again hid in the shadows and completely erased her presence.

“Can anyone of you detect her?” Creepysoo asked but they were unable to do so.

“If we cannot detect her then we are as good as dead.” Creepysoo stated as they were a group that can easily be killed by an assassin since they do not have a way to reveal invisible enemies or those with abilities that can erase their presence completely.

Unlike before where the Fallen Goddess Izanami focused on killing them as quickly as possible, she was now taking her time and even observing the battlefield. She was weaving across the battlefield in a special form where she is slightly touching the dimension of the living and the dead. This is the special ability of her Dead Goddess Walking skill as it literally means she is walking a fine line between being alive and being dead.

The Fallen Goddess Izanami needed to make sure that not all of the enemies are afflicted by that weird life saving skill which is why she targeted other enemies around her. When she easily decapitated one Murim warrior and saw that the body is headless while blood is pooling, she now certified that not all of the enemies around her is affected by that strange skill.

The Fallen Goddess Izanami is also a bit wary of the undead around Creepysoo as the undead would be more alert in detecting her. She has some energy of death around her after all and all of the undead has some as well. If she wanted to kill the four mortals that killed her earlier, she would need to bide her time and only strike when she is sure that they can be killed.

Creepysoo and the others suddenly found themselves unable to move freely away from each other as they fear that they might be killed instantly by the Fallen Goddess Izanami. They knew it was her when Hexy described the feeling of a sickle like weapon and the demented energy of a woman suddenly appearing near her. They were told that all of the fallen gods were revived but they did not think that even those that they have defeated were alive once again.

“What are we going to do? We would be overrun by enemies if we do not move as freely as before.” Brew stated as he is making sure that he is only a few meters away from Creepysoo and the others.

“I can at least bet that she will not be able to kill me with one attack. Maybe two hits if I do not dodge.” Gourmet stated but even that statement did not make them confident.

“I can at least curse us so that we will not get killed in one hit. There some downsides though.” Hexy stated as there is a curse that can share their pain.

“If that means we can move freely then I am fine with that.” Brew stated but then they all looked at Gourmet.

“I cannot be cursed though.” Gourmet replied.

“You are built like a truck compared to us that can die in one hit. I will just heal you up with my potions if you do get damaged greatly.” Brew stated which Gourmet eventually agreed upon.

“Just keep your promise of keeping me alive then I will not berate you later if we do end up dying together.” Gourmet stated with a laugh as Hexy casted the spell to link the life force of Creepysoo, Brew and her.

“Curse Magic: Life Link!” Hexy casted as all souls of the three suddenly got connected by an invisible line of energy.

The representation of their link is a thorny vine bracelet on their right arm. As long as this thorny vine bracelet is present, all of their health will be connected to each other. Seeing that the curse has affected them without problems, Brew is the first to step away from them as he wanted to bombard the area with his potions but he also became the new target.

The Fallen Goddess Izanami suddenly appeared like a ghost behind him and then slashed at his body. Fortunately for Brew, his body cannot be dismembered as long as his body is inside of the special cauldron. This is part of his inherent skill called Cauldrophobic as he fears being separated from his own cauldron that his body is literally fused with it. He does receive damage and is not immune to getting killed.

One could call it fortunate that it was Brew that was targeted as the others would have been sliced to pieces instead. The Fallen Goddess Izanami is once again in disbelief that her attack was unable to kill the being before her which made her slightly look insane. She could not believe that she was weaker than she ever thought she was but that was not true at all.

“It is good that you showed up, old hag! Mummie!” Creepysoo shouted as Mummie suddenly burst out from the ground and then fired off his bandages towards the Fallen Goddess Izanami.

“Petty tricks will not be able to stop me!” The Fallen Goddess Izanami stated as she easily sliced off the enchanted bandages that were about to bind her.

Just as she was about to destroy the next set of bandages, dark thorny vines suddenly appeared from other directions to bind the hands of the Fallen Goddess Izanami. These were cursed vines designed to slow down any being that it is attached to but it seems that the Fallen Goddess Izanami has higher tolerance to curses compared to before. Seeing that the curses were not affecting her, Brew immediately went to work once again and threw potions that reduces curse resistance towards the Fallen Goddess Izanami but the latter has already learned her lesson.

“I will not fall for the same tricks twice.” The Fallen Goddess Izanami stated as she released shadowy energy strikes towards the vials of potions that Brew tossed.

The potions got destroyed before they even touch the body of the Fallen Goddess Izanami. Before they could lock her down, the Fallen Goddess Izanami rotated her body and destroyed all the things binding her. She then vanished once more and her presence could not be detected again. All of them suddenly felt that they were once again trapped in the same circumstance as before.

“We already solved the way to avoid being killed by her in one strike. The problem now is how to detect her.” Brew stated as he gulped one of his potions to restore the health that he was missing.

“That is not the only problem. Our problem is how we are even going to kill her. I sensed it when one of my cursed vines touched her. She now has the strength of a Greater God by my rough estimation.” Hexy stated as even she cannot curse a greater god easily.

“Creepysoo can handle it then. He can summon gods to possess him.” Gourmet stated as they all look at Creepysoo but he was making a complicated face.

“I cannot do that. The Gods of Death are silent right now which means we are disconnected from them. I also feel a presence of a god of death nearby but it is so faint that it might just be my imagination.” Creepysoo stated casually but it actually made the corners of King Yama’s mouth to rise up.
