Chapter 2582: A Demon’s Anger I

Kimat charged towards Tai as he believed that the special armguards that the oni player is wearing will have no effect towards him. The armguards made from the fang of the White Tiger of the West has the element of metal etched unto it. It is a Semi-Transcendent weapon that could be used to kill even gods or divine beings. Kimat should be considered as a divine beast as he is the emperor of all feline beasts.

Tai thought that a simple soulbound will not be able to stop him but he tried to attack, and it failed horribly. A palm attack that has triggered the special passive of his weapons should have dealt great damage to Kimat, but the large feline divine beast simply let the attack land. Kimat even looked at the part of his body that was attacked and scoffed as only 1% of his total health was shaved off. The attack that Tai used is basically a tickle towards him.

“Pathetic. Did you really kill the King of Metal Byakko?” Kimat finally spoke and he did not call the White Tiger of the West by its full title, but a title given to it by feline beasts.

When Kimat evolved to his divine beast form that he has now, he received the intelligence hidden in his bloodline. It detailed all of the knowledge of feline beasts that has lived and still lives. He did not tell this to his master because he already believes that there is no one more powerful than it when it came to the feline beast line.

“Impossible!” Tai stated in disbelief as his attack was not even enough to warrant a scare from the soulbound in front of him.

Tai believed that the demon, Equinox, has soulbounds that are not that strong compared to their master. This is what summoners have as a weakness since a majority of them have soulbounds weaker than their actual playable character. He believed that Equinox also followed this stereotype as they have clashed before and the summoner was not that strong from his assessment.

Tai did not know that a vast majority of the summoner class is balanced based on Equinox as he is basically the gold standard for all summoners. This is also the reason why some summoners are resetting their characters because they were balanced by the fact that Adrian or Equinox exists. There were patches where summoners were extremely strong, but the standard now is quite balanced when the developers no longer held him as a standard.

The developers basically tried to balance the summoner class from Adrian’s stats but that did not change any of his firepower. The only ones damaged by the balancing were the summoner players themselves which is why the standards changed to suit the average summoner player. The developers basically believed that Equinox will be strong no matter what they patch. This also meant that summoners are treated fairly but that fair can also mean overpowered when it comes to certain individuals.

One of the standards to the summoner class is that each soulbound can have a specific buff applied to the whole team as long as they are summoned. Each of Adrian’s soulbounds also add powerful buffs because of their rarity and species. Each of those buffs are now stacked when all of them are summoned. It also means that the Adrian and his soulbounds most powerful form is when all of them are in the field.

[You soulbound, Kimat, has received some damage. Damage has been mitigated due to the special buff given by Charon. Kimat only received 50% of the damage.]

Kimat benefitted from all of the buffs due to all soulbounds in the field. Combined with the fact that the weapon used by Tai is ineffective against him, the damage that Tai can do to Kimat is almost negligible. This is a buffed Kimat with two members of the team missing which are Kanlaon that can buff elemental damage and Saena that can buff health and give healing.

“Stop playing, Kimat.” Sirius stated as he warned his little brother playing with the prey.

Sirius’ warning made Kimat shiver as the latter is more afraid of the punishment from the eldest than the enemy before him. Kimat wanted to torture the being in front of him because he is one of the reasons why their master’s friend died. He wanted to inflict as much pain as possible but there was an even more dangerous foe in the field that he is wary of.

“You shall die now.” Kimat exclaimed as his body turned to lightning and charged towards Tai.

Tai immediately sensed the danger and no longer held back against a summoned monster. Tai’s health and the horns on his oni mask suddenly grew bigger. Kimat did not care and aimed his claws at Tai’s neck. The only way to avenge their master is to kill the perpetrators for his sorrows and one of them is before him.

“Oni Club!” Tai shouted as his body suddenly became slightly bulkier.

Tai suddenly had his hair grow out slightly and his body suddenly became extremely muscular. The physical changes are one thing, but the most noticeable one is that there is now a club made of pure energy being gripped by the oni player. Tai burst into a charge that it actually made the ground crack and clashed with Kimat.

Kimat’s claws and Tai’s oni club created a powerful sound when they clashed against one another. The two of them repelled one another as a result of their clash but they did not kill one another. Tai’s club could be seen to have fizzled a little bit while Kimat’s claws could be seen to have small cracks. The exchange between the two made it clear that they are almost equal against one another, but Tai believed he has the upper hand.

“I can kill it in this current form.” Tai believed as he once again clashed with Kimat.

Adrian was a bit distraught as he saw the blackened body of the Vermillion Bird of the South. He also is low on mana because he strained himself in sending an entire section of a tower to another dimension. The fact that he could even fight right now is due to him pushing his limits. He cannot use mana potions because the magic circuits in his body are under immense strain and need to rest for at least an hour.

“Master! I can sense a faint sign of life from the corpse.” Wisteria stated as she is the one protecting Adrian in her smaller form.

Wisteria could be seen floating beside Adrian as a cute little turtle with a sprout on her back. She also wanted to go on a rampage, but she wanted to protect her master. She knew that the elder siblings will be able to damage on her behalf and protecting the master is important. One can never assume that their master is safe when they are in a different continent where hidden weapons and assassins of many kinds exist.

Adrian snapped out of his confusion and immediately used all his senses to check on the detail that Wisteria pointed out. Just like Wisteria said, Adrian felt a small spark of life that is almost about to snuff out. The only problem is that the spark of life that he sensed is inside of the Vermillion Bird of the South. He needed to destroy the corpse of his friend in order to check this spark of life that they have discovered.

“Master, we can have older sibling Dodu do it.” Wisteria stated as her rational voice cleared the clouded vision that Adrian has now.

“Agreed. Dodu!” Adrian called as a small slime that is a part of Dodu suddenly appeared next to him.

It seems that Dodu made sure to not have Wisteria have all the burden of protecting their master. Dodu left a small clone of itself near their master in order to help when it is urgent. All of the soulbounds have grown not just in power but also intelligence.

“Dodu is here, master!” Dodu replied.

“Thank you for answering immediately. I need you to consume the body of Suzaku but make sure to not digest it. Just dissolve the shell into pure energy and leave that spark of life that is present.” Adrian stated.

“Dodu understands! But… I will not be able to do battle and protect the master when I am doing that.” Dodu stated as the main body was busy killing off members of the Kami organization.

“I will do that in your stead. I have already woken up from a nightmare. It is time for the other side to feel that nightmare in my stead.” Adrian stated as his eyes became fierce, but his voice was as calm as a lake.

“Okay!” Dodu replied as its main body suddenly disappeared from the battlefield and shifted towards Adrian’s current location. Dodu then proceeded to do what its master wanted and convert everything into energy.
