Chapter 2583: A Demon’s Anger II

Since Dodu has been taken out of the field to convert the body of the Vermillion Bird of the South to pure energy, Adrian had to take over what Dodu was fighting earlier. The number of enemies did decrease by a lot because of the active participation of the soulbounds but the only enemies left are those that are experts. The energy levels of each of the enemies that are left can be equated to that of a demigod.

“Wisteria, protect Dodu.” Adrian stated.

“Master! I must protect you.” Wisteria exclaimed with a pout as she knows that if Adrian is defeated then all of them will be sent back to the Soul Chamber.

“This is a predicament. I cannot use a domain because that would interfere with what Dodu is doing. It could also endanger that spark of life if it gets afflicted by the energy of my domain skills. I guess there is no choice but to stay here then.” Adrian stated which delighted Wisteria.

They might have stayed in their current location but that does not mean that they are safe. Many of the Ascendant Immortals that are left are long range fighters which made Adrian shift into his Mirror Demon form. He created a protective grid around him made with invisible mirrors. Any long-ranged attacks that get inside would be absorbed by the mirror and reflected back.

“How long will it take, Dodu?” Adrian asked as he is running out of patience at the moment since his anger has yet to subside.

“About ten minutes or fifteen for everything to be digested, master.” Dodu replied and Adrian nodded his head.

“Wisteria, I think defending is not just your strong suit. Why not unleash the power of a Spirit Dragon Turtle against the enemies?” Adrian stated.

“As long as master does not escape from here then I shall do my best.” Wisteria stated as she floated above and started to revert back to her normal size.

The normal size that Wisteria has is basically as large as a hill and her usual size that people see her in are just her shrunken version. The sudden appearance of a large dragon turtle with a crystal tree on the back shook the enemies. They never thought that there is another monster that the demon could command. The others are already having a difficult time against Sirius alone for his shadows, but another has been added.

“Wisteria, absorb all of the energy of the dragon vein and release it in this entire area. Purge all of them using the power of the land that they want to invade.” Adrian commanded as Wisteria immediately followed.

All of the Ascendant Immortals suddenly felt a large torrent of energy being gathered by the large dragon turtle. The crystal tree on Wisteria’s shell started to glimmer even brighter than before as it accumulated the energy of the dragon vein that Adrian pointed to. A Spirit Dragon Turtle like Wisteria can easily access the dragon veins or ley lines of places and actively use their power.

The shell behind Wisteria could be seen to bloom crystal flowers as the energy from the dragon vein is supercharging her. The Kami organization members suddenly started to panic as they do not know why their enemy started to amass a large amount of energy. The ones that feared for their life started to escape as they knew that death awaits them. Those with sharp survival instincts started to run away but they suddenly found themselves back to their original places.

Adrian smiled as Sirius has easily snuck in the activation of his domain. Sirius has better control over his domain which is why the area that Adrian is in has no effects. This is to ensure that Dodu will not endanger the spark of life that is left from the corpse of the Vermillion Bird of the South. The activation was to the point that it will almost fool Adrian if he was not perceptive enough.

“What is happening?!” The Ascendant Immortals that tried to escape shouted as they do not know why they are suddenly returning back to their initial positions. It was like they were bewitched as reality and illusions blended seamlessly.

“It is the black wolf!” Tama shouted as he has a special skill that can see through any falsehoods as he has a third eye on his bald forehead. It is called the Heaven’s Eye and is usually a special ocular skill only given to special beings that are blessed by the heavens.

The revelation that they are being deceived by Sirius made all of the Ascendant Immortals try to find him, but they cannot easily point him out. Sirius is heavily immersed in the illusion that only Tama can see him. The only problem for the monk player is that he would need to abandon Chiyou in order to deal with Sirius.

“Everyone! Escape as far as you can! Do not trust your eyes!” Chiyou shouted as he already sensed that Wisteria suddenly stopped absorbing the vast amount of energy from the dragon vein.

“Too late though.” Adrian stated as he used most of his remaining mana to create a dome made of mirrors around the entire area that is affected.

It was not only Adrian that moved because Charon also used his own domain which covered the area as well. The chains that came out of ground suddenly pulled all of the escaping Ascendant Immortals. Those that tried to escape from the sky were bombarded by Adrian’s mirrors while those that tried to leave the area are now chained up and slowed.

“Release.” Adrian stated with a devious smile as Wisteria opened her mouth her shell that is filled with energy released a powerful blast of natural mana in the area.

The entire area covered by Adrian in mirrors were caught up in the explosion as he gritted his teeth. He made sure that the explosion would only be encapsulated in the area as it would deal more damage to enemies if done correctly. The only problem for Adrian is the fact that he is overexerting himself again.

One could see that Adrian is getting drained because two of his soulbounds are using a domain and he covered the entire area in mirrors to reduce the destruction. Still, Adrian did not regret his decision because the area that is devastated made him smile because the hundreds of enemies that were left earlier are now a handful. What made Adrian smile is the fact that Chiyou lost an arm because he protected Tama, but that protection was useless.

Sirius made use of the chaos that is created by the explosion created by Wisteria and used Realm Ender. Sirius originally wanted to target Chiyou, but the Ascendant Immortal moved from his original location to create a dome that protected him and Tama. Sirius also knows that Chiyou has great instincts against bloodlust and might react quickly upon his resurgence.

In the end, Sirius chose to defeat the being that could see through his illusions. Sirius even made the attack quick enough to the point that Chiyou cannot react. In a split second, Sirius resurfaced half his body and bit off the lower half of Tama. The only thing left from the monk player is his upper body turning into particles of light. Still, Chiyou was quick despite not being the target as he sensed the danger.

Chiyou actually managed to land a palm attack on Sirius which diverted his attack trajectory. This is also the reason why only the lower half was bitten off as Sirius intended to devour Tama entirely. The palm attack was also strong enough that it left an indentation on Sirius’ body. Even if Sirius was attacked, he managed to release a quick attack that sliced off Chiyou’s hand which resulted in the scene now.

“Tama!” Tai shouted as he saw his friend turning into particles of light and killed in a gruesome way.

Tai managed to survive the attack by activating more of his oni blood and empowering his oni club. The only club created a powerful barrier that actually defended him against the natural energy explosion created by Wisteria. Kimat tried to attack the barrier created by Tai, but it was incredibly dense to the point that he felt reverberations hitting his body. The oni club possessed by the being before him has some special enchantments.

Wisteria reverted to a smaller form after the bombardment as using such force takes a toll on her body as well. She also managed to do what needed to be done and that is the extermination of the pests that dared to harm their master. She can also feel that her master has somewhat calmed down after what she did.

“Master! I am done! There is something left here though. This is the spark that you speak of.” Dodu stated as a crimson egg with a shell that looked like it was made from flaming feathers appeared.
