Chapter 640: The Rebellion
All of Australia looked at the broadcast of the falling asteroid.
The combined 'Shapes' of the Confederates created a gigantic ship several miles wide. It flew above and reached the heights of the sky satellites.
And they prepared to challenge the giant stones hurling down to Earth.
Many looked up at the sky as the asteroid's descent to Earth was visible now.
"Unlocked. Move the Flying Fortress and avoid the asteroid." Lioncourt's voice was heard worldwide as it was broadcast.
"Everyone, do not panic. This is part of the plan, " Lioncourt said as the ships allowed the huge asteroids to fall.
"Begin side-bombardment on the asteroid!" Lioncourt ordered.
The massive ships began to shoot rockets and solarium beams on the asteroid that was falling.
The asteroid was being attacked from the side, and then an army of spaceships emerged from the Orbital behind and flew down towards Earth with weapons firing at the flying fortress.
"You took a Top Tier's ship and made them your own, eh? Still you don't have it's power!" A Presider shouted.
Two Thrones could be seen charging down, leading its forces to attack.
These were the Mid-Tier Presiders who had made an alliance to divide Australia.
The Confederate began to release the Stellar Capable fighters who flew out to the skies.
Arthur quickly made the calculation. The asteroid would surely break into two pieces on the sides. And if that happened, Lioncourt could lift and toss away the asteroids.
Armors and exoskeletons flew out quickly to meet the invading Presider army, and the stellar battle began.
Git Godlike led the way, followed by Serge Embers, formerly known as Cronus, Arthur's former rival in the E-Sports world.
"Kid! Alexa! Follow me! We're aiming to kill a Presider!" Serge ordered as the two followed.
The other members of Git Godlike, Twister, Misty, and Shanna, commanded their squadrons to fly out and fight.
The Confederate's combined army flew out, and many Inhumans were among the commanders who led their squadrons.
The months of training and preparation were now bearing fruit as an army of Unbecoming and Inhumans flew out for combat.
Arthur took one look and could easily tell that the Unlocked would be victorious.
But down in Australia, the mysterious power of Destiny was wrenching the allegiance of many.
It was so intense that Lioncourt had sensed it and could feel this moving.
"Incredible. Destiny is moving in such a mighty and noticeable way that it's affecting the three dimensions. The math and calculations of physics are bending and changing." Arthur was amazed.
"I could feel it in my realm. What exactly is this? It's violently moving like a specter all over the place!"
"A spirit- a spirit at work that is moving to fill the hearts of men and fulfill their destiny. It is the same spirit that hardened Pharaoh's heart and possessed Judas. Interesting. It seems we were almost close to changing the destiny of many. Lioncourt, record and broadcast the words of those leaders I've predicted will betray us. We still need to up the moral of the Unlocked."
"Way ahead of you..." Lioncourt closed his eyes.
Several recording devices were built within the metal beams and objects around these bases. They released no electric signal but were now being switched on through telekinetic forces.
The devices all began to work and transmit the words of these Generals, and Lioncourt could hear them.
Many in Australia were enraged despite the great battle in the sky, the bombardment, and the winning fights.
"Why?! Why?!" An enraged man saw the forces of the Unlocked Army suddenly retreat as the asteroids fell.
He was a general who felt betrayed as the ship moved out of the way.
"They could have blocked it with that ship! The power of the Realm King could have helped! They are just being damned selfish! Men! Who is with me!? Let's sell out these idiots and side with the Aragarians! If we ambush the Unlocked and help the Presiders fight, they will reward us!"
"General! He might hear you!"
"Who? That weak Realm King who tricked us all into thinking he is a god?! Am I dead?"
"...No!"
"That's right! I say we follow the general's instructions! Look! The battle is evenly fought, and they still have to repel the aliens! Ambush the Unlocked! They are busy shooting the asteroids now!" Another shouted.
Lioncourt heard the idiotic cries that were strangely similar in content.
"They plan to ambush us as we destroy the asteroids? Won't they be killed by the asteroid?" Lioncourt cursed.
"They really wanted to betray you, and any and every excuse is being used. The Spirit at work is also enticing them. They have already made their plans to use the shelters you prepared to let the asteroid kill those who are pro-Realm King. Besides, it's not the first time that people in power or politics allowed stupid things, ultimately leading to them shooting themselves in the foot. The Post-Modern Era was ripe with these woke and dumb moves. The real reason is that they want power or to be in power. Pride and selfishness. They really believed they were better leaders when Seeker's original timeline proved them worthless... How laughable."
"Fine, then. If they want to act stupidly, I'll give them more reason to betray and attack me! I'll hear their reasoning, their idiotic thinking, their selfish and arrogant words so that I will gladly let them all die!" Lioncourt was angered. He was very patriotic and loved his country. But now, he saw how even the end of the world was not enough for greedy men to lust after power.
"All ships! Divide your attacks! Use fifty percent of our ship's weaponry to aim at the approaching Presider army! We have to prioritize defeating them as they control the asteroids!" Lioncourt gave out reasonable commands.
But as that broadcast rang out worldwide, the hatred in people's hearts grew and turned into rage.
"You should prioritize shooting the asteroid! That Lioncourt! He is utterly misusing the technology of telekinetic powers! Men! We're fighting this idiot! That telekinetic power should fall on someone like us who can properly use it! Don't believe their lies about their powers being from them! There are no supernatural humans!" One of the Generals in another division cursed.
Lioncourt heard the cries as familiar utterances echoed out of the world.
These small conversations in the underground headquarters of various military branches were heard. They even had secret devices to listen in on them, and Arthur could hear the words they uttered.
Not just them, but many of the Unlocked heard these words.
"No supernatural humans?! Aside from us, aren't vampires, werewolves, and ice maidens existing now?!" One soldier cursed out as he heard it.
"See the heart of your countrymen. More will appear in their number. They will ambush and betray you. I can hurl one part of the asteroid down to them. Their betrayal has long been predicted by Arthur, and that's why we grouped up those most likely to betray each other. So choose now, Unlocked who hails from this land: Will I kill them, or will you kill them when they betray?" Lioncourt's voice echoed out and stunned the Unlocked.
More voices were being broadcast as the plans for the exact moment of betrayal were being sent out.
Since the traitors were grouped together, though no initial plot had ever been made for them, for they feared the attacks of Lioncourt, armies were now planning their betrayal!
"Kill them! General Lioncourt! Kill them! They mistook you sparing their lives as weakness!"
"Yes! And if you kill those earthly generals, they will take it as a way of you silencing those who question you! I've heard of it! Kill them, general!" The cries of another soldier were heard.
The Unlocked began to express the same sentiments, and even those on the front line made their judgments.
"Then so be it..." Lioncourt declared, turning to activate a preserved sound wave that exploded all over Australia.
"Traitors. The whole lot of you. We have fought and bled behind the scenes, saving this world numerous times. But now, you chose to betray us and find the smallest excuse, claiming our actions are signs of weakness. Therefore, I will abandon you. The sheep will be saved, and the goats will be slain. Through the Prophecy of Daniel, I have already foreknown who would betray Australia, and we grouped you all together. I did not kill you when you raised your voice against me because I was being merciful. So now, you shall face our wrath. The fellow overcomers now fighting in space have also voted for your annihilation. The asteroids will be allowed to fall on your places. From now on, until the asteroid levels your lands, you will hear your conversations and plots against me." The voice spoke to all.
At once, the broadcasts in their systems and comm devices began to play their utterance.
The massive ships formed by the Confederates continued to shoot but were drawing further and further away.
Lioncourt raised his hands high as he ate a radiation pill.
The power of the Realm King began to pull apart the asteroid with great force.
"Oh, Australia. I would have died for you..." Lioncourt sighed as he made his final pull.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Smaller portions of the asteroid began to break apart and fall into the regions of Australia.
