Chapter 1374: Coming Out
Chapter 1374: Coming Out
Previously, Evan had been somewhat conflicted about how he should deal with Eldrakar and Akasha.
Eldrakar was the ruler of the dragons, and if he were to fall, the dragon clan would likely face a significant decline in the coming days.
Since Anastasia was the Progenitor of Dragons, the dragons were, in reality, her force.
If she truly decided to reclaim her authority, even Eldrakar wouldn’t be able to stop her from regaining control over the dragons.
Her dragon bloodline was simply that powerful, capable of forcing all dragons to submit to her whether they wished to or not.
If he were to kill Eldrakar and weaken the dragon clan, it would essentially be the same as weakening their own forces, as dragons were, in essence, their own army.
As for Akasha, Evan had not wanted to deal with her earlier because, first of all, she was one of the Monarchs, so her strength was unquestionable.
He already had many enemies to deal with, including Winterclaw, Baphomet, and Mythrenor. He had no intention of adding yet another powerful enemy to his already long list.
Moreover, Anastasia herself had said that she had no intention of taking revenge for what had happened in the past, so he had no reason to go looking for trouble with Akasha.
But after hearing what Eldrakar and Akasha had been planning, Evan threw all of those thoughts out of his mind without hesitation.
’It seems there will be two more bastards I will have to deal with,’ Evan thought inwardly, a cold glint appearing in his eyes.
He shifted his attention back to Turoon and asked calmly.
“From what you said earlier, it seems you dragons don’t like Eldrakar very much. Then how did he end up becoming your king?”
Turoon smiled bitterly upon hearing Evan’s question.
“It’s because he was strong. Void Dragons are inherently stronger than most other dragons, and with Eldrakar’s peak Rank Six strength, there were not many dragons who could stand against him. Moreover, he also had Akasha’s support at that time. To make matters worse, after the elders of the dragon clan failed to find Lady Anastasia, they had no choice but to choose a new ruler. Without a king, such a large clan would not have been able to function properly and would have eventually fallen apart.”
Turoon paused briefly before continuing.
“Once the dragon clan collapsed internally, conflicts between different dragon factions—such as Fire Dragons, Water Dragons, and many other types that don’t get along well would have been inevitable. If something like that had happened, the overall strength of the dragon clan would have declined sharply. And in a place like Utopia, where countless forces are always waiting for others to fall so they can reap the benefits, such a situation would have been extremely dangerous.”
Evan listened carefully and finally understood why Eldrakar had successfully become the ruler of the dragons, despite not being particularly liked at that time.
“So he was chosen as the new king to ensure the dragon clan wouldn’t collapse internally.”
“Mostly, yes,” Turoon nodded. “Another reason was because he had Akasha’s support. After losing Lady Anastasia, the dragons had no one capable of facing a Monarch. So, in the end, Eldrakar was chosen as the new king. It has been thousands of years since then. Although not many dragons liked him at the time, as time passed, people gradually began to forget about that incident. Coupled with the fact that Eldrakar actually did a very good job as king and made the dragon clan quite prosperous over the past few thousand years, many of the dragons who once held resentment toward him eventually forgave him.”
Evan clicked his tongue in wonder after hearing the full story.
’You really can’t believe the stories circulating outside,’ He thought to himself.
From what Evan had heard in the outside world, Eldrakar had become the first ruler of dragons by defeating all opposing dragons and forcing them into submission.
Anastasia was not considered a ruler in those tales, as she had never governed the dragon clan in a traditional sense. She was seen more as the strongest dragon of the clan rather than its leader.
According to those rumors, Eldrakar had beaten every dragon who opposed him until they acknowledged his authority, and it was through sheer overwhelming strength that he became the ruler of the dragon clan.
’What a load of bullshit,’ Evan thought, shaking his head slightly.
“At most, in three months…” Evan stared at Turoon and spoke in a serious tone. “There will be a massive war that will engulf the entirety of Utopia. When that time comes, if you dragons stand against me and Anastasia, I can assure you that what happened to Fire Dragon Island some time ago will repeat itself. And this time…”
Evan’s eyes turned cold as a chilling killing intent spread throughout the entire area.
“It won’t just be a simple warning where no one dies.”
Turoon’s heart trembled upon hearing Evan’s words. Recalling the sheer terror he had felt when Anastasia had destroyed Fire Dragon Island, he couldn’t help but swallow nervously.
“The war you spoke of… Can you tell me more about it?” He asked cautiously, unable to comprehend what kind of conflict could possibly affect the entirety of Utopia.
“You will understand in the future,” Evan replied calmly, offering no further explanation.
“Once you return to the Dragon Islands, tell all those old dragons that if they want to live, they have two choices—either stay out of this war or stand on our side. If they decide to oppose me and Anastasia, then the only thing awaiting them is…”
Evan’s shadow suddenly expanded, stretching across the entire void space and plunging everything into darkness. Within that darkness, deep purple, burning eyes opened one after another, staring eerily at Turoon.
Turoon gulped once again, immediately understanding that if the dragons chose to stand against Evan and Anastasia, they would inevitably become part of those shadow undead.
“I—I will inform them,” Turoon said in a trembling voice, genuinely afraid that Evan might add him to his shadow army on the spot.
Evan felt quite satisfied with how effectively he had intimidated a peak Rank Five dragon. However, he also understood that pushing Turoon too far might backfire, so he decided to end the conversation there.
“Let’s go out,” He said in a light tone and with a snap of his fingers, the surrounding void space shifted, and he returned from the third layer of the void.
