Chapter 652: The Grand Finale

  • Next Chapter

The catastrophe unleashed by the Bright Holy See, like a never-ending nightmare, had raged for a full month.

Throughout this long and terrifying time, people on Blue Star died in despair with every passing second.

The global population plummeted at an astonishing rate.

The entire world was shrouded in gloom. The prosperity and peace of the past had vanished without a trace.

As the disaster spread, a growing tide of survivors, struggling on the brink of death, flooded toward the Great Xia Empire’s Border City.

They had endured untold hardships, dragging their exhausted bodies forward, their eyes filled with a desperate longing for survival.

However, when they arrived at the Border City, they were stopped by the well-trained Defense Team of the Great Xia Empire.

Outside the Border City, a dense crowd of refugees huddled together in a scene of utter chaos.

Their shouts and cries mingled, forming a desperate dirge.

“Please, open the gate!”

A gaunt man roared, his voice hoarse. His face was covered in dust and grime, and his cracked lips oozed blood. He clearly hadn’t had a drop of water in days.

The child beside him clutched the hem of his clothes, his small, bony hands white from the force. His eyes were filled with fear and helplessness as he sobbed quietly, “Daddy, I’m hungry…”

Not far away, a woman leaned weakly against the wall. Her leg was severely injured, and blood seeped steadily from the makeshift bandage of torn cloth, forming a dark red pool on the ground.

Her face was as pale as a sheet, her breathing shallow, yet she still pleaded weakly, “Help me… I’m not going to make it…”

Others, already broken by despair, simply knelt on the ground. With tears streaming down their faces, they kowtowed endlessly, their foreheads striking the hard earth with a dull thud.

“Good people of the Great Xia Empire, please, have mercy! Take us in! We don’t want to die out here!”

Their voices, tinged with sobs, trembled in the air.

Among the refugees were some who had once left the Great Xia Empire.

They had once foolishly believed the Bright Holy See’s rumors and had slandered Chu He online.

Now, their faces etched with regret, they desperately tried to prove their identities.

A young man shouted at the top of his lungs, “I’m a citizen of the Great Xia Empire! I was wrong! I shouldn’t have believed those rumors! Please, on account of me being from Great Xia, let me in!”

He waved an item that could prove his identity as he yelled, his eyes filled with a mixture of desperation and hope.

Meanwhile, on the city walls, the members of the Defense Team stood with solemn expressions and unwavering gazes.

Dressed in neat uniforms and gripping their weapons tightly, they were like towering peaks, unyielding in their duty.

They had long since received their orders from Her Majesty the Queen and Chu He: no one was to be allowed inside.

The desperate cries from outside the city and the sight of the wretched faces stirred their hearts, but duty was duty, and they did not waver in the slightest.

Meanwhile, the people within the Great Xia Empire saw the horrific scenes unfolding in other empires online.

The bloody and brutal images gave them a visceral understanding of the Bright Holy See’s evil and terror.

They couldn’t help but feel a secret sense of relief that they hadn’t been misled by the rumors.

“It’s terrifying… The Bright Holy See is completely inhuman!” an old man said, his voice filled with terror as he watched a video with trembling hands.

“Can Lord Chu He withstand this? Who knows what terrible things the Bright Holy See is plotting this time,” a young man said, his brow furrowed with worry.

Although the people of the Great Xia Empire were in relative safety, fear and anxiety followed them like a shadow.

They prayed silently, hoping Chu He could lead them through this crisis and protect the Great Xia Empire, their last bastion of peace.

Just as everyone was filled with anxiety, uncertain of what the future held,

a strange voice boomed between heaven and earth without warning.

The voice was ethereal, as if it came from the deepest reaches of the cosmos.

Yet it was laced with a chilling mockery,

and every word was a sharp blade that stabbed straight into the hearts of all who heard it.

“So, in the end, you run to the Great Xia Empire as your last sanctuary? How utterly laughable!

And your precious last hope… isn’t it that man, Chu He?

This time, I will crush his skull right before your very eyes, and I will do it with ease!”

The voice echoed between heaven and earth, lingering long after, making everyone keenly aware of the contempt and arrogance it carried.

The moment the voice faded, a terrifying, giant hand from an unknown realm violently tore open the once-clear sky.

A colossal golden eye slowly materialized, radiating a mysterious and majestic light. Its gaze alone seemed to freeze all of creation.

Then, the awesome true form of the Light God descended.

The Light God’s form was immense, towering into the clouds. Twelve pairs of light-wings slowly unfurled, vast enough to envelop the entire world.

Every feather radiated a scorching brilliance—

a brilliance that was not mere light, but solidified holy flame.

Wherever it passed, the very air burned and distorted with a SIZZLE.

At the Light God’s feet, the Monarchs of seventy-two nations were like a throng of lowly slaves,

kneeling prostrate in terror. Their bodies trembled, heads buried deep in the earth, not daring to make a single sound,

as if the slightest movement would invite utter annihilation.
