Chapter 651: We Were Wrong, We Shouldn't Have Believed Those Lies

  • Next Chapter

In the mysterious and ancient Great Yue Empire, old cities rich with history and culture were slowly being stained red with blood.

In the bustling marketplaces, people fled in every direction, lost in a panic. Stalls were knocked over and scattered, their wares strewn across the ground, completely ignored.

An elderly man, leaning on a cane, stumbled forward, struggling to make his way through the chaotic crowd.

His weathered face was a mask of despair as he muttered to himself, “What is happening? What have we done wrong? Why must we suffer such a disaster?”

Not far away, a group of children huddled together in a corner, clinging to one another and trembling uncontrollably.

Their eyes were filled with terror and confusion as they watched the nightmarish scene unfold, the sight a devastating shock to their young souls.

The soldiers of the Great Yue Empire’s Defense Team engaged the enemy in fierce clashes on the narrow streets.

Some held long blades while others wielded firearms, engaging in close-quarters combat with the so-called “Angels.”

A young soldier, severely wounded in the heat of battle, had his clothes stained red with blood. Yet he stubbornly forced himself to his feet, his eyes burning with furious, unyielding flames. He roared, “I’ll never let you harm our people!”

With that, he charged the enemy once more. His resolute figure cut a tragically heroic image amidst the bloody carnage.

In the frigid Polar Bear Empire, the once silver-white world of ice and snow was now shrouded in the stench of blood.

In the quiet villages, people were startled from their sleep. They looked out their windows at the horrifying scene and were scared witless.

One father quickly hid his child under the bed, then grabbed a hunting rifle. With a resolute gaze, he told his wife, “You and the child hide and don’t come out, no matter what. I’m going to see what’s happening outside.”

His wife clutched his hand, her eyes filled with worry and reluctance. “Please, be careful. The child and I will be waiting for you.”

The Polar Bear Empire’s Defense Team mobilized swiftly, their armored vehicles racing across the ice fields toward the enemy.

The ROAR of armored vehicles and the crack of gunfire echoed across the open ice fields.

And the white light radiating from the “Angels” was especially blinding against the backdrop of ice and snow, like wisps of flame from Hell itself.

As time passed, a ceaseless stream of hideously ugly Angels, all radiating white light, flew out from the seventy-two pillars of light that reached to the heavens.

Every flap of their wings kicked up a violent gale, and they left nothing but death and devastation in their wake.

Wielding all manner of strange weapons, they mercilessly and savagely slaughtered the innocent populace.

Countless vibrant lives were snuffed out in an instant. The spiritual energy they became flowed like invisible threads, drifting continuously toward the seventy-two heavenly pillars of light.

Gradually, this energy converged, ultimately forming a heavenly ladder that radiated a powerful light.

The light seemed holy, but it was, in fact, an omen of destruction.

People across the globe fell into a massive panic, beginning a frantic, large-scale flight for their lives.

At this moment, people finally believed that the images previously broadcast in the Lighthouse Empire’s Royal City square—which depicted the Pope of the Bright Holy See as an executioner—were real.

They were filled with immense regret, especially those who had fled the Great Xia Empire.

The people who had been deceived by the false information spread by the Bright Holy See—whether they were fabulously wealthy merchants or the poor struggling to get by—were now all facing a miserable end.

Hunted down by the ugly, demon-like Angels, they screamed Chu He’s name until their voices were raw: “Chu He, save us! We were wrong! We shouldn’t have believed those lies!”

However, in this chaotic and terrifying world, their cries were faint and helpless—like a stone sinking into the ocean, leaving not a single ripple behind.
