Chapter 731: NASM - 731

"You know, these two really are just too adorable. Even though they’re both fully aware of how they feel about each other, the way they act around one another is nothing like how a couple would behave – it’s almost as if they still have no idea what’s going on between them.

Hiroshi, despite having lived for more than thirty years, had never once been in a relationship before, and he’d barely even had any interaction with girls at all. It was only after he travelled to the world of Naruto that he gradually began spending time with the opposite sex. And now he had such a wonderful girl right by his side, yet he still had no clue how to act or what to do – he was just as dense and unresponsive as a block of wood.

On the other hand, Harumiko, though still very young, understood far more than Hiroshi gave her credit for. It was clear she had already been through quite a lot in her life, not least because she loved reading books of every kind, and had learned so much from what she’d read.

Still, it was quite something for a girl to be this bold and forward – even if she only acted this way around Hiroshi and never showed this side of herself to anyone else.

And while Hiroshi did notice how proactive she was, it only made him fall for her more and more. There was nothing she could do that would ever make him dislike her; after all, she was the very first person he had ever truly loved in his entire life.

"When did you wake up, Harumiko? I didn’t even notice you were up. I was feeling so sleepy that I ended up dozing off too. There’s still plenty of time left, isn’t there? I’ll just get myself sorted out and then we can head out, what do you say?" Hiroshi said softly, putting on an act as if he had only just woken up, speaking to Harumiko who was standing by the window.

Hearing his voice all of a sudden made Harumiko jump slightly, but she quickly recovered and replied quietly, "O-okay, okay. There’s still plenty of time. Hurry up and get ready. I’ll just stay here and look outside for a while, and we’ll leave as soon as you’re done."

"Alright then, you just stay here and watch the world go by. I’ll go and freshen up in the bathroom and be right out, then we can go out together!" Hiroshi said with a soft smile as he slowly got to his feet.

Harumiko nodded gently, and once again her cheeks turned pink – simply hearing his voice was enough to make her heart flutter all over again.

"It sounds like Hiroshi really didn’t notice a thing. Judging by the way he’s talking, he really has no idea what just happened. Thank goodness, that’s such a relief! If he had realised, I honestly don’t know how I would ever be able to face him again – it would have been so awkward!" Harumiko thought to herself as she looked out the window.

Meanwhile, Hiroshi had made his way into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and begun washing his face. He noticed that his hair had become a mess while he was sleeping, so he quickly washed it too, and soon he felt fresh and clean all over.

But as he looked at his own reflection in the mirror, his gaze fell upon his lips, and the memory of what had just happened flashed through his mind. Instantly his face turned bright red – this was the first time in his whole life, or rather in both of his lives, that he had ever been kissed by a girl.

"This is incredible... I never imagined it would feel like that. It was such a strange and wonderful feeling. To think that for the first time in both my lives, I’ve been kissed by a girl – and such a beautiful girl too. It really does feel like the best thing that has ever happened to me! It seems fate is finally starting to treat me kindly!" Hiroshi thought to himself as he stared at his reflection.

Then he brushed his teeth, all the while his mind wandering to all the things that might happen between them later that evening, after they had finished their walk. It seemed like a good idea anyway, since his mouth had definitely felt a little stale after sleeping.

"After a good rest, I feel completely relaxed and refreshed – it’s like my whole life has become lighter and brighter. And over this past year or so, I’ve grown and matured so much too. It seems the System doesn’t pop up as often as it used to these days... I guess even it has gotten lazy!" Hiroshi said softly with a smile, stretching his arms out wide after he had finished washing up.

Once he had tidied himself up and made sure he looked presentable, he slowly walked out of the bathroom. He noticed that Harumiko was no longer standing by the window, but had sat down on the bed to rest instead.

"Hiroshi, there you are! All done freshening up? You look so bright and full of energy now! I have to say, after resting for so long, I feel completely recharged myself. I reckon we’ll end up walking around and exploring for ages once we go out!" Harumiko said immediately, beaming at him as soon as he walked out.

Hiroshi nodded gently and replied, "You know what? I feel exactly the same way. After getting so much rest, I feel totally relaxed and bursting with energy. Tonight is definitely going to be wonderful. Let’s get going right now!"
