Chapter 730: NASM - 730

"I feel just wonderful. My heart feels completely light and free of worries, so calm and peaceful. As long as I’m with Hiroshi, I feel so happy. I’m definitely going to enjoy myself today, and later we’ll have dinner together before coming back here... and then I get to fall asleep in his arms again. That feeling is just so incredibly comforting!" Harumiko whispered softly with a smile at her reflection in the mirror.

Once she had finished touching up her makeup, Harumiko walked slowly out of the bathroom and over to the window, where she stood looking out at the street below.

"I never imagined this place would be so lively. Even though the temperature has only just dropped, there are already so many people out and about. It seems the people here really love being active in the evenings – I bet tonight is going to be so bustling and full of life!" Harumiko thought to herself as she watched the crowds moving along the street.

She stood there for several minutes, gazing out at all the people passing by, before slowly turning around to look at Hiroshi, who was still fast asleep on the bed.

"What’s gotten into me? I suddenly have this urge to go over and kiss him... why do I feel this way? Though I suppose it wouldn’t be such a bad idea, right? He’s still sound asleep, so he definitely wouldn’t notice. I’ll just do it as a little way of thanking him for taking such good care of me lately. After all, no matter what situation we’re in, he always puts my needs first. Where else am I ever going to find a man like him?" Harumiko thought to herself, her cheeks flushing bright red.

"Hiroshi is exactly that kind of person – always looking out for me, always putting me first. Men like him really are so rare these days. I have to hold onto him and never let go, I can’t let any other girl steal him away. And besides, we already know how we feel about each other!" Harumiko mused, feeling all shy and giddy inside.

After hesitating and turning the thought over in her mind for several minutes, she slowly made her way over to where Hiroshi was lying, then leaned down and looked closely at his face.

"Just a quick kiss – he won’t notice a thing, right? He always sleeps so deeply, he’s not a light sleeper at all. I’m sure he wouldn’t even feel it. Just one little kiss... I don’t know why, but I just have this strong desire to do it!"

By this point, Harumiko had moved so close that her face was only about five centimetres away from his.

Then she closed her eyes, her face burning red, covered her mouth slightly with her hand, and gently pressed her lips against his. Just as quickly, she pulled away and hurried back to hide by the window.

"Oh my goodness... just that one little kiss and my heart is already beating this fast, it’s racing like crazy! I need to calm down right now. Thank goodness Hiroshi didn’t move at all – he definitely didn’t notice a thing!" Harumiko thought to herself, pressing her hand against her chest to steady her breathing.

Meanwhile, Hiroshi was still fast asleep, though his mind was drifting in that hazy state between sleep and wakefulness. He could vaguely feel something soft and warm brush gently against his lips, and then just as quickly, the feeling was gone.

"What was that just now? I could have sworn I saw Harumiko... it looked like she kissed me, right on the lips... what exactly happened? But I don’t dare open my eyes or move, because I don’t want to embarrass her!" Hiroshi thought to himself, his eyes still closed.

Even though he had only received a light kiss, his heart was racing just as fast as hers. It seemed this was exactly how things were meant to be between them. Neither of them dared to look at the other – Harumiko kept her eyes fixed firmly on the street outside to help calm her nerves, while Hiroshi lay in bed with his eyes shut tight, trying his best to steady his own racing heart. Neither of them wanted to cause any awkwardness for the other.

"This is unbelievable... what has gotten into Harumiko lately? Or rather, it’s been like this for the past two or three days – she’s been so bold and forward all of a sudden. Does this mean I, as the guy, should be taking the initiative too? But I’ve never done anything like this before, I have absolutely no experience... I really don’t know what I’m supposed to do or how I’m supposed to act!" Hiroshi thought to himself, his eyes still half-closed as he lay there.

At that moment, Harumiko glanced quickly over at Hiroshi, then immediately turned her gaze back outside. She noticed that even more people had filled the streets since she last looked, and by now her heart rate had finally slowed down and returned to normal.

"I never knew kissing felt like this... it really is such an amazing feeling! And this was my very first kiss... but I wonder if it was Hiroshi’s first kiss too?" Harumiko wondered quietly as she looked out the window.
