Chapter 568

Ray landed on the ground, a murderous glare burning in his eyes.

He wiped the back of his hand across his face, brushing away the blood seeping from his head, nose, and mouth.

In a flash, he vanished from his spot while the Aberrant desperately struggled to stop itself from skidding across the battlefield.

Digging its claws into the earth, the creature tried to halt its momentum, but by the time it managed to slow itself down, Ray was already standing before it.

The Aberrant’s claws tore through the ground as it swung its arm, scooping up and hurling a chunk of rubble towards the boy approaching from the front.

[Thunder Step Activated]

Ray vanished from sight and reappeared to the side, allowing the rubble to rush past him.

With a firm leap off the ground, he shattered the earth beneath his feet and soared above the Aberrant.

Lightning snaked across his entire leg, crackling violently as though the limb itself were about to extend. Ray raised it high above his head before swinging it down like a divine sword descending from the heavens.

The Three-Spined’s eyes widened in horror.

BOOOOM!

Ray’s lightning-infused leg hammered into its head with the force of twenty speeding trains, driving its massive body deeper into the ground.

The crater expanded with each passing second as deafening bangs continued to erupt across the battlefield, reaching the ears of millions of viewers.

The force of the kick didn’t stop with the initial impact. Its residual power continued battering the Aberrant, forcing it farther into the earth as the crater widened beneath it.

Blood streamed down the creature’s head and face.

Ray landed at the outer edge of the crater with feline grace, lightning still crawling across his frame like a snake moving through the grass.

Despite the creature’s towering height, its head could still be seen peeking out from the crater, which had now become as deep as the Aberrant was tall.

Ray raised a hand and beckoned to it, making a simple gesture as though inviting the creature to come forward.

"I WILL KILL YOU!" the Aberrant roared, its voice filled with fury.

It slammed its hands against the edge of the crater and pushed upward with all its might, desperately forcing itself out of the hole.

The Aberrant shot into the air as the edges it had gripped crumbled beneath its strength.

Ray remained unfazed as the creature soared higher, its head nearly reaching the clouds.

KA-BANG!

A reverberating boom rang out as the Aberrant descended like a tower crashing down to crush the earth.

Ray merely tilted his body to the side.

The creature plunged into the ground right beside him, its enormous body striking with enough force to send mud flying into the air. The earth trembled beneath the impact, as though an earthquake were about to erupt, yet Ray remained completely unfazed.

His face darkened with fury, his hands clasped behind his back.

One-Spines, Two-Spines, and now Three-Spines. None of them had been enough to make the Tribrid unleash everything he had.

The Aberrant wasted not a single second after landing. It immediately launched into a rapid succession of kicks, swinging its massive legs one after another in a relentless assault.

Each leg resembled a battering ram as it sliced through the air at speeds far beyond what an ordinary human could hope to counter.

But alas!

Ray was no ordinary human.

He tilted his body, ducked beneath the incoming attacks, and leaned his head aside, evading each kick with chilling calmness and precision. The blows sliced past his face, yet not one managed to touch him.

He didn’t even appear fazed.

The two continued their deadly dance across the battlefield, the Aberrant launching one kick after another while Ray bent and twisted around them, watching each attack rush past his face by the narrowest of margins.

The creature grew increasingly frustrated as its relentless assault failed to land a single hit.

Then, it changed its approach.

Swinging one leg behind its back, the Aberrant’s muscles coiled and tightened like a compressed spring before it unleashed the kick at twice its previous speed.

This time, Ray moved.

He brought one hand up in front of his face just as the creature’s foot collided with his palm.

BOOOOOOM!

The ground exploded outward beneath them.

An immense shockwave burst from the point of impact, sweeping across the battlefield with enough force to send the nearby drones swinging wildly through the air.

And yet, Ray had barely been pushed backward.

He slid only a few feet across the earth, his other hand still clasped behind his back.

Then, to the Aberrant’s horror, light began gathering at the exact spot where its leg met Ray’s palm.

The light continued coalescing, gradually taking shape into something that struck fear into the Aberrant’s heart. It had seen what that attack could do to its comrades—the One-Spined Aberrants—and it wanted no part of it.

Unfortunately, the light wasn’t forming fast enough.

Desperate to escape before the attack could be unleashed, the creature attempted to pull its leg backward.

But it was too late.

As though crawling out of the depths of an abyss, a purple mist rippled around its leg. Within moments, massive hands stretched out from the mist, clamping around the limb and pinning it firmly in place.

’Wha—?!’

The Aberrant stared at the enormous hands gripping its leg before snapping its head downward. From within the depths of the purple mist, a pair of crimson eyes glared back at it.

Before it could react, however, Ray was already done.

He snapped his head towards the creature, and a sword-like beam of light formed before him. The instant it took shape, the beam shot vertically towards the Aberrant.

In the blink of an eye, it ripped through the creature’s leg, splitting it open like an axe cleaving through wood.

A rain of blue blood sprayed through the air as the limb was torn apart, the beam cutting through it as cleanly as a saw.

The Aberrant barely had time to comprehend what had happened before a pained scream escaped its throat, a horrifying cry that seemed to shake the world for a moment.

*The more I evolve, the stronger my skills become,* Ray noted inwardly.

The Aberrant staggered backward, struggling to remain upright on its remaining leg as the massive hands released it and retreated into the purple mist. The mist itself soon receded, leaving the creature to fight for its balance.

It desperately tried to steady itself, but Ray wasn’t about to give it the luxury of time to recover.

He lunged forward.

Within a blink, his clawed hand tore through the air towards the creature as it attempted to jump away.

Alas!

Ray’s claws caught the already-severed leg.

With a brutal yank of his arm, he pulled backward, tearing the limb completely free with a sound like fabric ripping apart.

"AAAAAAH!"

The Aberrant’s scream rang across the battlefield as blue blood gushed from the place where its leg had been attached, spraying into the rain like a fountain.

THUD!

Disoriented by the pain and the sudden loss of its limb, the creature toppled onto its backside.

The torn leg dangled from Ray’s grasp, but he made no attempt to pursue his fallen opponent.

Instead, he stared at the severed limb with a curious expression.

"You know? I’ve never experienced what it’s like to eat an Aberrant’s flesh. I’m curious to see what stats you’ll give me," Ray mused, a taunting grin spreading across his face.

He raised the torn leg into the air, allowing the rain to wash it clean.

To the horror of both the Three-Spined Aberrant and the viewers watching the livestream, Ray slowly brought the limb towards his mouth.

Then—

His mouth twisted and elongated, transforming into that of a werewolf.

And with that transformation came a brutal bite into the torn leg.
