My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 569: Out of Control Truck!
Chapter 567
The viewers were silent, unable to type a single word as their attention split between two incredible battles unfolding in different locations.
Johnny had been switching between the two fights to accommodate the viewers, but even he was growing exhausted from using his ability for so long to slow down the footage. Before he could switch away from one battle and return to it, countless things could happen in two seconds or less.
Hence, he decided to go all out and split the screen, allowing the viewers to watch both battles simultaneously.
Now, switching between them was their problem, not his.
And he was right. Heads kept turning from left to right as people struggled to follow two battles at the same time.
The rain wasn’t making things any easier, either. It continued pouring furiously, making it increasingly difficult to see what was happening on the battlefield.
The weather confused the people of Alcatraz even more. It was only the first month of a new year, and the rainy season wasn’t supposed to arrive for several more months.
So why was it raining so heavily today?
Why was the downpour so intense that even the visuals from the drones were becoming difficult to make out?
"..."
Grinding his teeth as a hairline crack appeared at his temple, Ray grabbed the Aberrant by the neck and drove his elbow into its face, smashing it back into the earth.
"I will make sure you suffer for everything my mum went through. I will break every single bone in your body and make you plead for death before I finally end you in the most brutal way possible." Ray growled, his voice sounding like that of a devil from a deep, dark abyss.
The Aberrant attempted to lift its head again, but Ray’s fist came crashing through the falling rain.
Just a second before the punch could connect, the creature’s hand shot forward and caught Ray’s arm, halting its momentum immediately.
Ray couldn’t pull his hand free. His gaze remained locked on the Aberrant’s face, where a hideous grin slowly spread across its features.
"Too bad I couldn’t have my fun with your mum before I killed her. Well, it’s not like it would even fit, though. But I could try, considering she had two kids, so the entrance must be wide enough to handle me."
Ray froze for a moment.
The words sank in, and another wave of anger began welling up inside him, threatening to consume what little restraint he had left.
Before he could react, the Aberrant swung its head sideways and smashed it into Ray’s skull with the force of a warhammer.
CRACK!
Blood burst from Ray’s nose.
Before the impact could send him flying, the Aberrant seized him by the collar. It then slammed its tail into the ground, using the force to propel Ray upward like a springboard.
The creature spun around in the next instant and drove the Tribrid straight back into the muddy earth.
BOOM!
Water, blood, and soil exploded around them, splashing across Ray’s face and soaking his clothes. Something heavy buried in the earth—possibly a sharp rock—struck him hard on the head, nearly causing his eyes to roll back.
But before he could lose consciousness, the Aberrant yanked him out of the ground and hurled him sideways like a disgusting, broken toy.
Even then, the creature wasn’t finished with him.
It spun around and pounced forward at blazing speed, closing the distance in an instant.
Within a second, it was already in front of the airborne Ray.
The Aberrant drew its fist back, its eyes blazing as it gathered its strength, then hammered the blow into the boy’s chest with the force of a speeding train.
Blood ripped from Ray’s mouth as his body slammed into the earth, splitting the ground open beneath him.
A crater five metres wide tore open beneath the impact.
A resounding BANG! echoed across the battlefield, so loud that even the thunder and the relentless rain couldn’t drown it out.
The Aberrants’ Big Five watched the scene with neutral expressions.
Colossus even turned towards Silver, raising a brow as he regarded the ongoing battle.
"Seriously? This is the kid who sent you running back with your tail between your legs? He can’t even defeat a Three-Spine, and he sent you running?"
Silver clenched her fists, her silver eyes blazing with fury. She looked ready to tear the Aberrant beside her to shreds.
Before the situation could escalate, Orvak intervened, a frown settling across his face.
"He’s holding back."
Splicer raised a brow.
"Holding back? How can—?!"
Yakz tapped his finger against the table once before nodding.
"Yes. Indeed, he is holding back. He isn’t throwing everything out the way he did earlier, so what could be the cause?"
"I guess we’re about to find out," Orvak replied with a small smirk.
.....
Even after driving Ray into the earth, the Aberrant continued its assault, swinging its foot downward with astonishing speed. It intended to crush the boy into a pool of blood.
"If only I swung that way, I would have made you scream my name today! Hahaha! But don’t worry. After I’m done with you, I’ll head for your beautiful female friends next. They will surely re—"
His words abruptly died in his throat.
Something was behind him.
His spines rattled, reacting instinctively to the sudden sensation.
The Aberrant whirled around at the last possible moment, only to find absolutely nothing behind it. There was no visible threat, no figure standing within striking distance—nothing that could explain the pressure that had made its instincts scream at it to turn around.
Whoooosh! SPLATTER!
The sound of something striking a puddle reached its ears.
The Aberrant spun around again, its eyes searching the rain-soaked battlefield, but there was nobody there.
Even Ray’s body had vanished.
Something was blitzing around the creature at such an absurd speed that its eyes could barely follow the movement. Every time it tried to focus, the target was already somewhere else, leaving nothing behind but disturbed rainwater and fleeting traces of movement.
The next second, to the creature’s utter horror, a surge of blue lightning crackled across the battlefield.
Electricity snaked around Ray’s frame like a living storm, illuminating his bloodied figure in violent flashes. Raw power crackled around him with every breath as he suddenly exploded forward, closing the distance between himself and the Aberrant.
Lightning coiled around his entire arm, twisting around it like a serpent as he accelerated.
His fist blurred forward.
Blood dribbled down his head, nose, and mouth, yet Ray didn’t utter a single word. His expression remained grim as his lightning-wreathed fist tore through the rain, parting the water and air in its path.
The impact came fast and hard.
It was as though an out-of-control truck had been hurled straight into the Aberrant’s face.
Its teeth went flying first. The force snapped its head sideways as a deafening BANG! cracked through the air.
The ground began to shudder beneath the sheer force of the collision, but Ray wasn’t finished.
His second fist shot forward, striking the Aberrant’s neck with the same devastating strength.
The Three-Spined’s eyes widened as tremendous pain tore through it.
Blue blood burst from its throat as the impact seized its body and sent it hurtling across the battlefield like a rag doll.
Its spined back tore through the earth, carving deep trenches as its massive body skidded and bounced across the rain-soaked ground like a truck with failed brakes.
