My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 549: Attack on Abberants (7) [Bonus Chap]
Chapter 547
Sliding from left to right, Chloe leaped off a building, nocked an arrow, then released it.
An Aberrant raised its hand to swipe the arrow out of the air, only for a net to burst from the arrow and wrap tightly around the creature’s hand.
Suddenly—
BZZZZZT!
An electrical surge crawled through the net and spread across the Aberrant’s hand, sending the creature spasming violently in pain.
Spinning around, Chloe smoothly nocked another arrow onto her bow, aimed, and released it the next second. The arrow spun furiously through the air, gathering force as it flew.
It crashed into a building, and a few beeps sounded before an explosion ripped forward. A small shockwave slammed into an Aberrant, forcing the creature to stagger to the side.
’Different arrows, different colours, and different uses... Thank you so much, Ray, for this gift. Because of you, I can be of more use.’
Kicking off the roof beneath her, Chloe smoothly slid another arrow onto her bow and released it. The arrow whistled through the air, passing dangerously close to the side of an Aberrant’s face while remaining connected to her bow.
The brown arrow pierced cleanly into a wall, and a long, thick brown rope immediately emerged from its shaft, still connected to Chloe’s bow.
The speed at which she shot forward was astonishing. She flew past the Aberrant’s face before quickly bringing out a small device Van had given her. Activating the glasses, she focused on the creature and smoothly planted the circular device onto its shoulder using her ability.
Waving at the Aberrant as it desperately swiped at the empty air, Chloe pulled herself away.
The device detonated.
BOOM!
The explosion ripped through the Aberrant’s flesh, sending chunks of it flying through the air. The creature growled in pain as blood sprayed across the battlefield, while the shockwave from the blast slammed into Chloe and sent her tumbling across a nearby roof.
Rolling onto her shoulder, she quickly pushed herself up onto one knee, raised her bow, and released a blue arrow.
The arrow flew straight into the eye of an Aberrant currently occupied by Van.
With its vision suddenly impaired, the creature staggered in confusion, giving Van the opening he needed. A volley of beams ripped through its nape, blood spraying from the wounds before the Aberrant collapsed heavily to the ground.
Kicking through the air, Van left Ray’s side and shot forward without a hint of hesitation.
Several claws swiped toward him, but he weaved between the strikes with precise control over his mech suit. His mechanical feet sprayed bursts of gas as he changed direction mid-air, tilting his body just enough to watch another fist blur past him.
Grinding his teeth, Van slammed his hands together.
The mech suit instantly broke apart and reformed around his body at a terrifying pace. A pair of translucent energy blades slid out from his arms.
Using the rocket propulsion beneath his feet, Van kicked through the air and accelerated. He spun around for a moment, narrowly avoiding two knuckles that shot past his face.
Leaning to the side, he suddenly dropped through the air as though his suit had run out of power.
But in the next moment, his eyes shone a bright blue.
The suit surged forward, propelling him faster than before.
Blood rolled down Van’s nose from using his ability for so long, but he ignored it.
A long tail suddenly whipped toward him.
Van’s hands snapped to the side, crossing the energy blades in front of his face just as the tail crashed into them.
BOOM!
The tail struck with enough force to crush a weak building. Van was nearly blasted backward by the impact, but the rocket boots beneath his feet erupted with even more flames, stabilizing him in mid-air and preventing him from being slammed into a building.
Pushing the tail aside with all his might, Van watched as several mechanical spiders broke away from his suit and rocketed toward the creature.
One of them stabbed into the Aberrant’s neck.
Van dragged his blade downward with all his might, tearing through flesh as he followed the mechanical spiders’ assault.
Then, with a loud growl, he saw a claw speeding toward him.
He spun around.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared behind the beast, its weakness completely exposed before him.
Four precise swings of his blades tore through the creature’s nape, slicing it open before the Aberrant fell forward helplessly.
Van didn’t waste another second.
He was already onto the next target.
As he shot past Felix, the werewolf was jumping from left to right while an Aberrant crouched down and attempted to smash him with both fists. Yet no matter how many times the creature attacked, it couldn’t catch Felix.
Another punch rushed toward him with blazing momentum.
Felix merely tilted his body to the side, allowing the massive fist to tear through the space where he had been a moment earlier.
At that instant, Felix felt energy coursing through his entire body.
His eyes gleamed yellow as both of his arms bulged incredibly, muscles swelling beneath his fur as his strength surged.
BAM!
The Aberrant’s knuckle shattered the earth, sending cracks racing across the ground as a cloud of dust erupted around its arm. Before the creature could pull back, Felix grabbed hold of it and planted his feet firmly against the ground.
Then he spun.
With his entire body twisting behind the movement, Felix used the Aberrant’s own momentum against it and yanked the massive arm downward. For a moment, the creature didn’t even understand what was happening.
Its feet left the ground.
The next second, Felix slammed the several-ton creature into the earth.
BOOM!
The impact sent another wave of dust rolling across the battlefield.
"How....?!"
The Aberrant was genuinely stunned by the sheer strength exerted by the human.
To lift an Aberrant so easily—a creature that weighed several tons—one needed to be a monster.
And Felix was grinning.
A blanket of dust blew around him as the Aberrant lay sprawled across the ground, momentarily stunned by the force of the impact.
’This suit is amazing.’
Felix leaped into the air, rising above the fallen creature before twisting his body around.
Then he rocketed back down.
His fist was pointed directly toward the Aberrant’s head.
BOOM!
His fist plunged into the creature’s skull with the force of two trains colliding, driving its head deep into the earth.
The ground cracked beneath the impact as more dust billowed into the air, swallowing both Felix and the Aberrant for a moment.
The shockwave slammed outward and caught Kai in mid-air, threatening to send him flying.
Kai immediately slammed both hands into the ground.
CRACK!
Crystal erupted from beneath his palms, spreading across the earth and anchoring him in place before the force could throw him away.
The moment the shockwave passed, Kai launched himself forward.
A crystal longsword formed in his grasp as he accelerated toward another Aberrant.
The creature raised one massive foot, attempting to crush him beneath its weight.
Kai didn’t slow down.
He dove beneath the descending foot, rolled across the ground, and sprang back onto his feet in one fluid motion. Before the Aberrant could react, Kai swung the crystal longsword with both hands.
SHING!
The blade tore through the creature’s backside, ripping open its flesh.
Its heart was exposed.
Kai’s expression didn’t change.
A dozen crystal spikes erupted around the exposed weak point and pierced straight into it.
The Aberrant’s body convulsed.
Then it dropped heavily to its knees.
