My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 548: Attack on Abberants (6)
Chapter 546
All over the world, comments flooded in as all eyes remained fixed on the livestream.
Wall Rose.
Though it held no great strategic importance to humanity, it was still their home.
And everyone was watching seven kids fight to reclaim it from the clutches of the monsters who had taken it from them.
The survivors of Wall Rose from a year ago, when the incident had occurred, were still living in shelters. Many of them had yet to find a proper place they could call "home."
Now, they all stood before a television mounted high in the middle of one of those shelters.
All businesses, chatter, and movement had come to a halt.
Every eye was turned toward the screen.
Eyes filled with anxiety.
Hands trembling with hope.
Some chewed nervously on their nails as the drones panned across Wall Rose, displaying its full scale to the viewers. The camera constantly shifted between the combatants, the Aberrants, and different sections of the ruined Wall.
Then some people recognized their homes.
Some recognized businesses they had once owned.
Others recognized important places that had been etched into their memories so deeply that even a year later, they could never forget them.
Despite how much time had passed, the blood of those who had fallen was still deeply smeared across the rubble and walls.
Some eyes began to water.
Some clenched their teeth.
Others simply stared.
And silently prayed for the success of the mission.
If the squad could successfully retake Wall Rose, they could finally have their homes back.
It would take time to rebuild.
It would take years, perhaps.
But none of that mattered.
At least they would have somewhere to return to.
These were the same people who had wanted Ray dead not long ago.
Some had even wanted him killed despite having watched him grow up from the very beginning.
Fear of the unknown had overwhelmed them.
But now?
They couldn’t care less whether he was a werewolf.
They couldn’t care less whether others called him a monster.
All they wanted was their home back.
And if the kid they had watched grow up right before their eyes could accomplish that...
Then he would have their full support.
They would stand behind him.
Solidly.
Because they understood something now.
Ray wasn’t fighting only for himself.
He was fighting for them.
The people of Wall Rose had already been looked down upon after being forced into Wall Steel.
Because they weren’t natives of Wall Steel, they had been treated like cavemen.
Discriminated against.
Mocked.
Forced to live in shelters while their own homes remained occupied by monsters.
And now...
Now, the hope of regaining everything they had lost was right within their grasp.
That was why those who could afford a phone and were watching the livestream there immediately took to the comment section.
The screen filled with messages as they watched Ray and Van fight together.
[Mister mountain: Ray, Ray, our sweet boy, I’m behind you. Fucking pay them back for what they did to us! Come on!]
[Realtor: You always loved my sweets, huh? I promise you, I will give you all the sweets in my shop. Just fucking take them down!]
[Viewer 000: Fuck the fact you are a werewolf. If you want my flesh to grow stronger, I will gladly give it. Just kick those invaders out of our home! COME ON!]
The comments continued flooding in.
One after another.
Thousands of people watching.
Thousands of people hoping.
Thousands of people waiting for the moment their home would finally be theirs again.
While Ray remained completely unaware of the support pouring in from across the world.
.....
Somewhere unknown.
A location no ordinary human could reach, nor even know existed.
Perhaps only the Big Four Legacies knew about it.
In the middle of a dining room, a small family sat around a table.
A holographic screen displaying the ongoing battle hovered above them.
The screen was roughly the size of a thirty-inch television.
"Hm."
A young man who appeared to be in his mid-thirties stroked his chin thoughtfully as he watched the livestream.
"Kai has always been a rebel, but I never knew he would decide to put his life on the line like this."
A woman sitting nearby glanced at him before shaking her head.
She appeared to be in her early thirties.
"You aren’t angry?"
The man’s lips curled into a faint smile.
"Angry? Why should I be?"
His gaze returned to the holographic screen.
"I mean, can’t you see that werewolf? Look at the ability he wields. It’s rare. Never seen be—"
"What’s being discussed?"
A booming voice suddenly rang throughout the room.
Heavy footsteps echoed from somewhere nearby.
"...."
A silence like never before descended upon the room.
Nobody uttered a word.
Nobody dared to.
A hulking man slowly came into view.
The moment he entered the room, the atmosphere seemed to change.
His eyes were about to settle on the family when his attention suddenly drifted toward the holographic screen.
Ray was displayed on it, lightning raining down from his body as he tore through the Aberrants below.
The man’s gaze locked onto the screen.
For a few seconds, he simply stared.
Then—
His eyes slowly widened in realization.
"Father, why are you here? You have never come outside in year—?!"
"Who’s that kid wielding the lightning ability?"
The man’s voice cut through him.
"And what the hell is Kai doing there?"
His eyes remained fixed on Ray.
"I go into seclusion for a few years and so many things are happening?!"
His anger exploded.
Not through his voice.
Through his aura.
**BOOM!**
A terrifying pressure erupted from his body and instantly filled the entire room.
The air itself seemed to become heavy.
The family was crushed beneath it.
Especially two young siblings who looked like twins.
Their veins bulged along the sides of their necks as they desperately tried to resist the pressure.
They couldn’t.
Not even remotely.
Their bodies trembled.
Their hands clawed desperately at the table.
Then—
"Gah—!"
Blood sprayed from their mouths.
The twins gagged loudly as their lungs struggled beneath the suffocating pressure.
"Fa—Father..."
The older man could barely force the words out.
"Yo-your aura... The kids... they can’t breathe."
His eyes widened in desperation.
"Don’t kill your grandkids!"
The hulking man blinked.
Once.
Twice.
He finally seemed to realize what he was doing.
His gaze moved around the table.
Then he inhaled deeply.
The terrifying aura disappeared.
The pressure vanished as though it had never existed.
The twins immediately sucked in desperate breaths.
"Haah..."
"Haah..."
They wheezed in pain, clutching their chests as their heads pounded in tandem.
’Years...’
’Years and still the same way.’
’We still can’t stand his aura.’
The older man lowered his gaze for a moment.
’And I fucking warned you, Kai.’
His eyes narrowed.
’I knew this day would come.’
The older man, who appeared to be in his mid-sixties, finally turned his gaze toward the screen.
His eyes settled on Ray.
He studied the young werewolf for several moments before slowly narrowing his gaze.
"He’s the new wielder of that ability, eh?"
A faint glint appeared in his eyes.
"Interesting."
Wiping the blood staining his lips with the back of his hand, the man—Lancelot—turned toward his father.
He raised a brow.
"New wielder?"
His curiosity was evident.
"Have you encountered someone with that sort of ability before?"
Lancelot shook his head slightly.
"I’ve read the entire library, yet I’ve never seen something like that recorded."
The older man didn’t immediately respond.
Instead, his hand slowly rose to the side of his neck.
His fingers touched an old scar.
A long, thick mark remained etched into his skin, almost resembling a vein running across his neck.
His expression darkened.
A scowl appeared on his face.
Then his gaze shifted toward the twins.
"If Kai is there, it means he knows that kid."
His voice was calm now.
Far calmer than before.
"I want your brother back within these walls."
His gaze shifted toward Ray once more.
"And I want everything on that lightning wielder."
Lancelot remained silent.
"I’m going back into seclusion for a few more months."
The old man’s eyes narrowed.
"Within that time frame, I need everything back."
He paused.
"Especially my precious grandson."
The man thought for a few seconds.
His gaze moved toward the twin boy.
Then toward his twin sister.
His expression became colder.
"...If anything happens to him, I will kill everybody."
The twins stiffened.
"If you notice something is about to befall him, save him."
His voice carried absolute authority.
"Use every means possible."
He paused.
"Even if it means raining chaos upon the world, I don’t care."
The room fell silent.
"Because the next time I resurface..."
His gaze hardened.
"The world has to remember who the Larsons are."
And with that—
The man simply blurred out of view.
He hadn’t twitched.
He hadn’t visibly moved.
Yet he was gone.
Like the wind.
Leaving the small family frozen around the table.
