Chapter 542

Bonny and Johnny reached the Wall, but unfortunately, they couldn’t ascend due to how high it was.

And even if they could, why would they risk their lives when they could get hit by a stray attack?

So, they remained underneath the Wall while Johnny set up his camera, focusing it on Bonny as she spun her microphone in one hand and her tablet in the other, watching the different visuals of the battle that had already begun.

Johnny gave her a thumbs up, and she began speaking.

"Hi guys, Bonny here, and I’m with our favourite cameraman, Johnny. We are here live at Wall Rose—the day promised by Captain Raze to attack the hundreds of Aberrants occupying our territory."

She paused as her gaze flickered toward the tablet, watching the different abilities being displayed across the battlefield.

"...The action has begun with full swing, and the Vanguards are really dealing heavy damage to the Aberrants. Follow us as we show you all what this group of monsters can do.

They aren’t here to play. They are here to retake. And mission: Attack on Aberrants will hopefully be a success."

She lowered her microphone and turned her gaze toward the tablet to continue watching while Johnny’s drones, controlled through his glasses, panned across the battlefield—not afraid to get close to the action.

Comments began flooding the livestream.

The comment came right after Ray nonchalantly punched an Aberrant away with a wrathful glare.

Not only were humanity watching the livestream, but shockingly, on an unknown planet, a group of five monsters sat around a round table, watching the livestream with calm looks in their eyes.

"Which one is the werewolf you encountered?" Yakz asked as the floating screen switched from person to person.

Silver stared at the screen for a few seconds before pointing.

"The silver-haired one."

The screen paused on Ray’s image, then slowly zoomed in while the Seven-Spined Aberrant casually tapped the side of his chin, a thoughtful look on his face.

"Hmm. Not bad."

Aside from the Big Five of the Aberrants, even the Big Four Legacies were also watching the livestream in their different domains—located on unknown beast planets.

Each of them sat in their personal rooms, eyes locked onto the screen, their missions suspended for a moment as they watched, getting ready to see what would happen next.

All eyes were glued onto one particular person.

Ray!

Aside from Jack Kyre, who had been busy battling the Six-Spined Aberrant known as Orvak, the others hadn’t even glanced at the livestream that day.

They had been so busy with their different duties and had decided to leave whatever trouble had sprung up to Jack, thinking he would be able to handle it.

Only for them to learn afterward about the werewolf.

After watching clips online and also watching the trial, they decided to focus their attention on him.

They all recognized a threat when they saw one.

And with the evidence of the boy growing stronger with each battle, soon, they all knew he would break through the Meta-human hierarchy, if he hadn’t already broken through and become a Special-Grade Meta...or werewolf.

All around the planets, all eyes were focused on the livestream as the Vanguards delivered their best.

"Go."

Caster gave the command, and his wolf blurred forward.

"I’m confused about something." Felix glanced at the Legacy with a frown on his face.

These two hadn’t moved into the battle yet.

"What?"

"How is the wolf alive? Isn’t it a beast? And if memory serves me right, Captain has killed it before."

Caster thought for a few seconds as he watched his wolf tormenting an Aberrant.

"Aside from taming beasts, each Kyre member can keep their tamed beasts alive through a strange connection we don’t understand yet. Each Kyre can summon their beasts even after death for a specific number of times."

Lifting three fingers into the air, Caster didn’t even give the werewolf a glance.

Then, at that same point, he dropped two fingers down.

"He has been killed twice. Firstly by the King-Rank Minotaur, then by Captain Raze. This is the third time. If he dies a third time, he’s gone forever, and I will have to re-tame a new beast. Depending on the person’s strength, some can keep their beasts alive more times than me.

"Aside from me, my elder brother, and my father, no other member can keep their beast alive more than once."

Felix listened with a thoughtful expression, nodding along to the Legacy’s explanation, only for his ears to stand up the next moment as an Aberrant charged toward them with furious steps.

With just about three steps, it had closed the distance between them in a few seconds, a massive knuckle speeding toward the duo like a freight train.

Felix nodded, his arm bulging like a tree trunk.

"So I guess if it dies, you will be useless, huh? Good to know."

The werewolf’s arm blurred through the air, and within a second, it collided with the Aberrant.

BANG!

The air froze for a moment before cracking loudly as the Aberrant’s arm developed a huge fracture, followed by its entire body being flung to the side.

That was when Caster flickered from view—his speed so great it was almost mistaken for teleportation.

He was already standing behind the creature, his pair of short swords slicing forward as Van’s glasses identified the creature’s weak spot.

The Aberrant was about to move to stop the Legacy, but unfortunately for it, Caster was just too fast.

His speed had been boosted and taken to tremendous heights by the exo-suit.

His swords found their mark, and just like that, the Aberrant collapsed forward, with Caster still standing on its back. In his hand was the creature’s split heart.

The moment the creature’s body connected with the earth, the heart slid from his hands, and he got ready to flicker out of view again.

"Keep up, beast." He snarled in Felix’s direction before vanishing once again.
