My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 543: Attack on Abberants (1)
Chapter 541
[Proud Hater: Come on Bonny, show us the action. You went live minutes ago yet we can’t see anything yet.]
"Haaa....haaa."
Bonny could be heard panting heavily as she picked up speed, running toward the Wall with Johnny running beside her.
His handheld camera rested on his shoulder as he ran with all his might, his breathing growing heavier with every step.
The drones were already far ahead of them—speeding toward where the action was taking place.
Johnny was controlling them through his AI glasses, but they were still some distance away.
Occasionally, Bonny glanced down at her tablet to read the comments, and each angry message from the viewers caused a scowl to appear on her face.
Yet, she didn’t let that deter her.
She was firmly ready to do her job, and with that determination pushing her forward, she picked up even more speed.
Bursting out of the line of towering trees, they finally caught sight of the Wall standing in place a few metres away, along with the hover bikes.
Though it was hazy due to the distance, they could still make out the shapes of the hover bikes, deactivated beneath the Wall.
By then, the drones had already reached the Wall and quickly panned out with furious speed, their cameras capturing the battlefield from different angles.
During the Aberrants’ Invasion a month ago, Johnny had lost more than half his drones from the shockwave emitted between Ray and the Five-Spined Aberrant.
But luckily, due to how comfortable he and Bonny were from their earnings through the livestream, Johnny was able to replace those cameras.
Not only replace them, but get them upgraded as well, having them made from the strongest material known to man.
Something harder than Diamond itself.
A material known as "Nen."
Something found on Alcatraz when the humans landed on the planet years ago.
So currently, all his cameras—ten of them—were made out of this special Nen material, which meant they could withstand hits from even a beast of the Tyrant rank.
But this upgrade didn’t come without a cost, though.
Johnny spent all his money—savings or not—and even had to borrow from Bonny to get this.
So currently, the cameraman was as poor as a church rat.
But hopefully, this livestream would be able to rake in more money.
His heart pounded with excitement as the drones finally caught the squad before they could even move out.
Van was clad in his full-body mechanical suit, the helmet sliding from behind and coming forward to cover his head fully within its depths.
Raze’s battle axe was about to fall into his grasp when he calmly lifted a finger toward his ear and muttered,
"Jarvis?"
Soon, an AI mechanical voice was heard in all of the squad’s ears as blue lightning arced all around their bodies.
<Unleashing full Combat powers.>
The exo-suits they all wore tightened around their bodies, their fibre muscles thudding with incredible force and filling them all with more power.
Clank—!
The axe fell into Raze’s grasp as he took a huge swig of his coffee, while the Aberrants were still in disbelief.
All of this didn’t take more than a few measly seconds.
Slurrrrrp!
Unhesitatingly, the squad lunged forward silently.
No words were exchanged.
No extra looks.
And certainly no delay.
They simply blurred into action as they felt their speed increasing tremendously.
Before the Aberrants could even think or try to steady themselves, the first to reach the creatures was Kai.
His eyes burned with ferocious rage as a crystal spear began forming in his hand with astonishing speed.
Tapping the side of the mask he wore, a glass slowly slid out, and soon, the white glass turned yellow as his view changed.
The life force of the Aberrant was laid bare before him.
He appeared before the creature within a flash, the crystal spear already driving forward.
The spear thrust into the side of its neck, slicing through and bursting out the other side with tremendous force.
BANG!
Blood spurted into the air like a fountain as a look of disbelief etched across the creature’s face.
Its eyes slowly fluttered in and out as it began losing consciousness before its massive body crashed into a half-destroyed building.
The impact razed the entire structure down beneath its weight, sending debris and dust bursting outward.
Kai fell alongside the beast, landing directly on its body with a calm gaze.
His eyes immediately locked onto the next victim.
Only for something to blur past his head like a rocket.
It was Van!
Clad in his full mech suit, he pointed both hands forward, slamming them into the face of another Aberrant.
His glasses activated inside his suit as his teeth ground together furiously.
BANG!
A beam as hot as fire tore out from the palm of the suit, striking the Aberrant’s face and melting it cleanly.
The body collapsed to the ground with a deafening thud.
’Woah... two percent sounds little on paper, but it is a lot. This exo-suit is amazing.’
One of the Aberrants closest to him quickly regained his composure and swiftly blurred toward him, only for twenty ice spears to descend onto the beast.
Sending it sliding backward.
Whoooosh! BAM!
Someone streaked through the air, frost clinging to her frame, and with a thunderous quake, an ice Warhammer collided with the beast’s head.
Spikes jutting out from the weapon pierced deep into the creature’s skull, allowing blue blood to spurt through the air.
Her pale blue hair fell over her cold face as her eyes locked onto the dying creature beneath her.
Whoosh! Whoooosh!
Two arrows were released from a bow, slicing through the air past Trisha.
An Aberrant snatched the arrows from the air, only for the two projectiles to light up simultaneously.
Within a second, an explosion rippled outward, blasting the Aberrant and sending it sliding backward in pain.
Chloe lunged forward, jumping from rooftop to rooftop while boosting herself with her ability.
The Aberrant was safe, with only a few scales burning off its hands.
But the moment it removed those hands from its face, a silver-haired young man with crackling grey eyes could be seen hovering before it, a hateful glare burning in his eyes.
The Aberrant was about to open its mouth when the boy vanished from view and reappeared directly before it, with not even an inch of space between them.
WAM!
A nonchalant swing of his fist sent the Aberrant’s body blasting into the distance, half its face smashed away as it tumbled into its comrades without pause.
