My Three Babies Have Different Fathers

Chapter 14: Different eye colors

"Biological father? Our biological father? Do you think we look like that man?" Sean asked.

"For the past few days, I’ve been investigating him before Mom leaves Melvin City, Mom has only ever been involved with Brandon, that man." Kevin pointed toward the television screen. "Besides, Mom also always watches shows featuring this man’s achievements."

"Tsk!" Zahn scoffed beside him. "Even if we look alike, maybe he looks like you, not me. Don’t you know this man is already engaged? Do you think I would let Mom lower herself by fighting another woman for affection just to chase after a bastard like him?"

"Zahn is right. Even if he is our father, so what? He has never taken responsibility for Mom or us all this time. Mom gave birth to us herself, took care of us herself, and even supported us herself. If we owe anyone a debt of gratitude, it is only to our grandmothers, not to some useless man who left Mom alone in this city."

"But what about Mom? What if she still likes that man?" Kevin asked.

"What are you three arguing about?" Hana called out. "Come to the table quickly and finish your noodles before they get cold," Hana said as she poured warm milk into her children’s glasses.

The three of them looked at one another before quickly changing their expressions.

"Mom, we’re coming," they answered in unison.

"Do you want to watch the fireworks tonight? You always enjoy it when Mommy takes you. Coincidentally, I heard there is an honored guest coming to Karua City for business. We can go and watch it together tonight," Hana offered while eating her noodles.

"Mom, we actually don’t like fireworks. You’re the one who likes them. Just say that you want us to accompany you," Sean replied after taking a sip of his warm milk.

"Hehe... Then accompany Mommy to watch the fireworks tonight," Hana said with a small laugh.

"Mom," Kevin suddenly interrupted. "You’re still young. Don’t you want to get married again?"

The atmosphere at the dining table immediately fell silent. Zahn and Sean both glared at Kevin, who had interrupted their fun.

"Why would Mommy get married again? Don’t I already have you three? As long as you behave, Mommy has no intention of getting married again. Besides... do you think there is still anyone who would accept Mommy in this condition?"

Hana was not being hopeless. She was simply being realistic. She had become pregnant out of wedlock and given birth to three children. They still had to go to school, and Hana did not want her children to experience the same failures she had.

Although she still could not understand why she had ended up on this small island and continued trying to find a way out, she could not do it now. The cost of leaving was very expensive, her children were still young, while Auntie Jezy, Jexy, and Jesy—although healthy—were already elderly. There’s no way Hana could burden them with taking care of her three children for a long time.

Their help over the past five years was a kindness Hana could never repay. Besides that, the future education expenses of her three sons would be enormous. She had to live more frugally, even her salary was not enough to buy new clothes.

Hana sighed and continued eating her hot noodles.

"Mom," Sean’s voice sounded gentle. He got down from his chair and hugged Hana. "Mom, you’re beautiful. In this entire city, even throughout Melvin Continent, there is no woman as beautiful as you."

"Hoho... Is my eldest son trying to comfort me?" Hana asked with a bright smile, then returned his hug and gently patted his back.

"Mom, what Big Brother said is true. You’re the most beautiful woman. If you weren’t beautiful, the shop where you work wouldn’t be so crowded with male customers," Zahn added.

"What a flattering child," Hana exclaimed.

"Alright, finish your noodles. Mommy wants to take a bath. Later, you have to get ready to accompany Mommy to have some fun today. Understand?"

"Mm..." they answered in unison while nodding.

As it began to get dark, Hana and her three children walked toward the city square. Their rented home was not far from the square, only about a five-minute walk away.

"Do you want ice cream?" Hana offered while waiting in line.

The three of them shook their heads at the same time.

"Ice cream isn’t good for your health. Mom should reduce it from now on, too," Zahn said.

"That’s right, Mom. Don’t eat ice cream too often. It isn’t good for your body," Kevin added.

Sean said nothing, but his gaze showed that he agreed with his brothers.

"Tsk, fine... I’ll just buy one," Hana replied as she paid the vendor.

"Ma’am, are these your younger siblings?" the ice cream vendor asked.

Hana shook her head.

"They’re my children. Don’t we look alike?" Hana replied casually.

"Huh? Children?" The vendor compared Hana’s face with the three children beside her. "Are they your biological children?" he asked again, even leaning down to look at their faces one by one.

"What’s wrong?" Hana asked instinctively as she began eating her ice cream.

Sean, Kevin, and Zahn frowned at the vendor.

Is this some new trick from those bastards to approach Mom again? Sean thought, his expression hardening.

"Ma’am, just be honest... Are they really your biological children? One has blue eyes, one has black eyes, and the other has slightly grayish eyes. Are you trying to fool me?" the vendor asked doubtfully.

Hana did not respond immediately. Her gaze slowly shifted toward her three sons.

For the first time, she began to realize that the different eye colors of the three children might not be a coincidence.
