My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 15: Did someone switch my babies
Hana waved her hand to dispel the tension around them. Or rather, to drive away the uneasiness in her own heart.
"They really are my children. Kids, let’s go. The fireworks show has already started," Hana ordered without giving the vendor another chance to ask questions. She immediately took her three children away.
"Mom, we really are your children, right?" Zahn asked without thinking after they had successfully moved away from the ice cream vendor.
Smack!
Hana hit her youngest son hard on the forehead.
"I gave birth to you myself for more than three hours and nearly died twice. And now you dare to ask me this?" Hana snapped angrily.
"Ouch..." Zahn cried out while protecting his forehead, afraid that she would hit him again.
"Mom, I was only repeating the ice cream vendor’s question. Why are you angry with me?"
Kevin and Sean shook their heads at their little brother’s stupidity. Obviously, given her circumstances, there was no way Hana would willingly go through all the trouble of raising the three of them without expecting anything in return if they were not her biological children. Wouldn’t it be easier to marry a rich man than to raise someone else’s children?
It was a pity that Zahn never used his brilliant brain when it mattered most, the two of them thought inwardly.
"Be quiet, and don’t say anything else!" Hana replied irritably.
Zahn nodded and changed his position, allowing Kevin to walk beside Hana, replacing him.
Hana said nothing else and immediately looked for a place to sit and watch the fireworks in the sky.
The fireworks festival in Karua City was held only once at the end of every year. Other than that, fireworks were never held unless an important guest came to visit Karua City.
Hana stared at the sky with a slight sense of longing. In the past, Brandon would gladly take her around the city and even arrange a special fireworks show just for her.
A resigned smile appeared on Hana’s lips. Everything was different now. She already had three children. And Brandon already had a fiancée who was far more beautiful than her.
After enjoying the fireworks for half an hour, Hana stood up and took her children home.
As Hana left the field with them, a luxurious car surrounded by heavy security soon stopped in the middle of the crowd. A 185-centimeter-tall man with a handsome face and a strong jawline quickly stepped out of the car.
His gaze briefly fell on Hana’s back as she walked away. His heart trembled for a moment before he shook his head and entered the building that the Mayor of Karua had prepared.
If Hana saw him, she would surely be shocked, cry, and run toward him.
It was Brandon.
Brandon Vein, Hana’s former lover from seven years ago.
Before entering her rented room, Hana knocked on the door across from hers. Not long after, a middle-aged woman with partially graying hair opened it.
"You took your children to watch the fireworks again?" Jesy asked.
Hana smiled and nodded.
"Auntie, I bought the three of you some pancakes. They’re still warm, so you can enjoy them while watching television."
"You spent your money just to buy food like this?" Jesy scolded, though her hands still accepted the plastic bag Hana held out.
"You’ve taken care of my children. Besides, it’s only a few pieces of cake," Hana replied casually.
"Fine, I’ll accept your kindness. Your children worked hard today, so you should put them to bed quickly," Jesy said.
Hana looked at her three children, who had already been yawning from sleepiness for a while. She nodded.
"Then, Auntie Jezy, I’ll go back to my room first."
Hana immediately turned around, opened the door to her room, and told her children to go inside.
Behind her, Jesy opened her mouth, about to curse, before Hana’s bedroom door quickly closed.
"Damn it, this stupid girl. She’s been living here for seven years and still thinks I’m Jezy? Does she have some kind of brain deficiency?" Jesy cursed.
She immediately closed her door and shared Hana’s pancakes with Jezy and Jexy, who were now busy watching a television program in front of them.
Hana washed her three children’s feet and put them to bed before lying down at the edge of the bed. Hana had bought this mattress through installments and only finished paying for it two years ago.
Hana looked at her three children, who were now sleeping soundly. She smiled warmly before the scene of the ice cream vendor asking that question, which once again made her question the three children in front of her, resurfaced in her mind.
This was not the first time Hana had received a question like that. Almost everyone Hana met for the first time asked her the same thing.
Hana tightly gripped the blanket wrapped around her body.
"Did someone switch my babies while I was asleep in the hospital?" Hana thought.
"Damn... is it possible that I really brought home the wrong babies and have been raising children who aren’t mine all this time?" Hana murmured, her voice increasingly filled with doubt.
