Kane Lloyd scanned the room but didn’t see Rose Jennings. There were only two police officers.

In that instant, a vicious thought sprang to mind. ’If I just chop these two up, won’t that be revenge for them locking me away for all those years?!’

The more he thought about it, the more tempting it became. Kane Lloyd tightened his grip on the axe, his body bending slightly as he prepared to strike.

"Don’t move! Police!"

"Drop your weapon!" Captain Wright shouted at Kane Lloyd, his own gun raised warily.

Kane Lloyd tightened his grip on his axe and grinned at them, then violently hurled the axe to the side.

"Watch out!"

Cap Wright’s shout and a gunshot rang out at the same time.

Sean Hughes’s eyes were sharp, and he swiftly fired, piercing Kane Lloyd’s shoulder.

On the other side, where the axe had been thrown, the officer dodged just in time. The axe merely grazed the top of their helmet.

Aside from a good scare, the officer was unharmed.

Immediately after, Kane Lloyd was surrounded by the furious Sean Hughes and the others.

As police officers, they couldn’t lay a hand on the suspect. But during the escort, some of the younger, clumsier officers "accidentally" kept bumping into the wound on his shoulder.

’But haven’t they already caught the killer? Could they have missed something?’

"What’s wrong?" Evan Keller noticed something was off with Zoe Sawyer and asked in a low voice.

Zoe Sawyer didn’t hide it, explaining her feeling to Evan Keller.

"In that case, you should open a door. If something really is happening, we can deal with it right away." Evan Keller didn’t dismiss Zoe Sawyer’s intuition; instead, he offered his advice.

Just then, Heath Hale’s breathless voice suddenly crackled through the earpiece: "Quick! We all overlooked Kane Lloyd’s parents! How could they not know their own son was doing this stuff!

"The colleague staking out their house said Kane Lloyd’s parents just left home on their little three-wheeler. It has a black plastic tarp covering something in the back, and they’re heading toward Rose Jennings’s family home! The two houses aren’t far apart, only about a ten-minute drive!

"Zoe Sawyer, set the door’s destination there right now!"

Heath Hale’s voice was accompanied by the sound of rushing wind. It seemed he was also hurrying to the location.

"Understood!"

Zoe Sawyer immediately complied. She took the file Evan Keller handed her, looked at the detailed location on it, quickly set the destination, and opened the door to bring them through.

They arrived at Rose Jennings’s family home before anyone else.

The old couple carried over the gasoline cans, evenly sprinkled the liquid around the house, and had just pulled out a lighter when police officers lying in wait in the corners tackled them, pinning them to the ground.

Now they were truly caught red-handed. Zoe Sawyer and her team didn’t hesitate. They left two people behind to explain the situation to the Jennings Family while the rest escorted the old couple back to the station.

As soon as they entered the police station, they ran into Sean Hughes and his group.

The three members of the Lloyd family were thus reunited.

Soon, Zoe Sawyer and the other three arrived at the door to Kane Lloyd’s interrogation room.
