“I wonder, esteemed Elders of the Netherworld Sect, for what reason have you invited me here? I’ve arrived, so isn’t it time you told me?” Chu Feng asked, looking at the group.

Chu Feng didn’t want to waste any time with them and got straight to the point.

He wasn’t afraid of this godforsaken place, but that didn’t mean he wanted to stick around. This was no place for a living person.

An ordinary person would likely have their vital energy completely drained if they stayed here too long.

“As expected of Venerable Chu Feng, so decisive and direct. We admire that about you. While we were the ones who invited you, Venerable Chu Feng, we aren’t the ones who wish to speak with you. However, if you would just wait a moment, the real host will be here soon,” the leading Netherworld Sect Elder said with a smile.

Hearing this, Chu Feng was a little bewildered.

‘What’s going on here?’

‘Aren’t these guys the ones in charge of the Netherworld Sect?’

“Aren’t you the Elders of the Netherworld Sect? Is there someone with a higher status than you?” Chu Feng asked in surprise.

The Netherworld Sect was different from other Sects. Other Sects had Sect Leaders.

But the Netherworld Sect had nine great Elders who ruled jointly. Of course, the Grand Elder held the most authority.

“We are indeed the Elders of the Netherworld Sect, and we do control it. However, the one who invited you is someone else. For now, I can’t tell you who. Venerable Chu Feng, you’ve had a long journey. We’ve prepared a banquet, so please, join us for a meal first,” the Netherworld Sect’s Grand Elder said with a smile.

Chu Feng looked at them, a suspicion growing in his heart. ‘Why are they being so mysterious? What are they planning?’

But he quickly calmed himself. ‘It’s just a meal. What’s there to be afraid of? I’ll eat first and see what happens.’

“Ah, forget it. If you insist on being this way, then so be it. I can’t stand people who speak in riddles. As for eating, let’s eat. I happen to be hungry anyway,” Chu Feng said.

He had been driving all day and hadn’t even eaten dinner yet. Now that food was being offered, how could he refuse?

Besides, he wasn’t worried about any tricks they might pull. If they really dared to provoke him, he’d just kill them all.

When that time came, Chu Feng wouldn’t show any mercy. He would kill anyone who stood in his way.

He had never taken these guys seriously. He could kill each of them with a single strike of his sword.

So what if this was a lion’s den? So what if they had numbers?

On the Big Snow Plateau, Chu Feng had single-handedly fought dozens of cultivators at the Martial Arts Peak Realm, several of whom were at the Martial Arts Limit.

In the end, wasn’t it Chu Feng who emerged victorious? He had slain over a dozen of them, and the remaining Martial Arts Peak cultivators had all fled in disarray.

With such a track record, who was there to fear?

“Excellent! Venerable Chu Feng is truly magnanimous. This way, please.” At this, the Netherworld Sect Elders all stood up, laughing as they spoke to Chu Feng.

They had actually been worried that Chu Feng wouldn’t dare to go. It seemed they had overthought it. Chu Feng was remarkably bold and had agreed without hesitation.

“Let’s go,” Chu Feng said, not standing on ceremony as he walked straight ahead.

He wasn’t afraid of any tricks they might try. If they dared to start something, he’d finish them.

At that moment, Chu Feng’s Divine Soul detected something strange.

Deep inside the main hall, there was a small, hidden chamber, and from within it, someone was watching him.

Chu Feng laughed inwardly.

‘So my guess was right.’

‘I knew it! His Divine Soul is incredibly powerful. He’s probably on the same path as me—a Spirit Cultivator! Judging by his condition, he must be about to cross the Tribulation and enter the Nascent Soul Realm,’ the person in the secret chamber said excitedly.

“It’s been so difficult… I’ve waited for thousands of years, and I’ve finally found a suitable body! It’s just like the old saying: to search high and low for something, only to find it right under your nose,” the person said with a great laugh, his eyes filled with excitement.

Although the man’s voice didn’t travel out of the room, Chu Feng still felt a wave of intense malice.

An icy chill ran up his spine, making him frown.

‘Is this person really that dangerous? To think he could make even me feel a trace of fear… These Elders aren’t enough to threaten me. It must be this hidden one,’ Chu Feng thought to himself.

Although he didn’t know who the person in the deepest part of the hall was, Chu Feng knew they bore him intense ill will.

Being here gave him a very uncomfortable feeling, putting him on high alert.

‘No matter what, I have to be on my guard today. I can’t afford to get tripped up by a careless mistake. That would be a real disaster.’ Chu Feng quickly suppressed his unease.

He pushed it all to the back of his mind.

On the surface, he remained calm and composed, laughing and chatting with the Netherworld Sect Elders as if nothing was wrong.

Then, the group sat down at the banquet table and began to eat and drink heartily.

The Elders continuously toasted Chu Feng. After several rounds of drinks and numerous courses, everyone had eaten and drunk their fill.

At this point, Chu Feng asked directly, “Esteemed Elders, where is the person who wanted to see me? Hasn’t he arrived yet?”
