My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 348: The Chu Family Has Arrived
He had likely used the method Chu Feng gave him last time, nursing himself back to health with the Celestial Soul Grass.
That's why Chu Tianshan was so full of life this time, like a mischievous old man.
By today, the entire Big Snow Plateau had grown lively. People from numerous Martial Arts Families and Martial Arts Sects had arrived. Some were staying on the plateau itself, while many Patriarchs were situated on the mountainside or at the foot of the mountain.
Each group was responsible for their own camp; the Great Snow Mountain authorities wouldn't help with construction.
After all, far too many Martial Cultivation Families and Martial Cultivation Sects attended each Martial Arts Grand Ceremony.
Besides, the construction costs were exorbitant. This was, after all, the remote depths of the Great Snow Mountain; transporting materials required immense manpower and resources.
Although the Chu Family now had several secular agents and a fair amount of money…
But they were used to being poor and didn't dare to spend recklessly. The daily cost of the entire family's Cultivation alone was terrifyingly high.
Most Martial Arts Sects were even poorer. They poured all their energy into Cultivation, whereas many Martial Arts Families also had members engaged in business and other ventures. Their focus was slightly different.
The foot of the mountain wasn't as cold as the Big Snow Plateau. The temperature was slightly higher, and it was much more accessible.
Anyone would have chosen the foot of the mountain, unless they were truly wealthy, of course. Those types were an exception.
Here, the buildings were mostly simple, temporary prefabricated structures, sufficient for a short stay.
Although the Chu Family only had three competitors, many more people had come along. With one room per person, dozens of structures had to be built.
As a result, the Chu Family's entire camp was a connected series of buildings arranged in a circle, with a guarded entrance at the front.
A temporary, archway-like structure had been erected at the entrance, bearing the three words: Xixiang Chu Family.
When the disciples guarding the entrance saw Chu Feng, Chu Wushuang, and Chu Wuqing return, they hurriedly called out respectfully.
"Young Master, Brother Wushuang, Brother Wuqing."
"Yeah, how is it? Isn't it cold standing guard out here?" Chu Wushuang asked.
"Not cold, just a bit brisk," the disciple on duty said with a smile.
"By the way, Brother Wushuang, the Old Ancestor said you're to take the next watch," the disciple said with a grin.
"Huh? The competition starts tomorrow, and he still wants me to stand guard? That's unreasonable," Chu Wushuang said, stunned and incredulous.
"About that... the Old Ancestor said you're only competing to make up the numbers. You're no use," the Chu Family disciple said, and he and the other disciples nearby burst into laughter.
Though said in jest, there was a grain of truth to his words.
After all, Chu Wushuang's strength was only at the Qi Cultivation Realm. The gap between him and the prodigies from other Martial Arts Families and Martial Arts Sects was simply too vast.
"You're underestimating me," Chu Wushuang said with a hint of resignation. "I think I can still achieve a decent result."
"The Old Ancestor also said that if the Young Master were competing, taking first place would be a piece of cake," another disciple chimed in.
"What the hell do you idiots know?" Chu Wushuang retorted. "Ten championships can't compare to the title of Martial Arts Venerable, you get me? The Young Master is now the Martial Arts Venerable of the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony! When you see him, you address him as 'Venerable'! Got it? Just wait until you're off duty, I'll show you how I'll deal with you!"
"Brother Wushuang, you only dare to bully us. Why don't you try bullying the Young Master?"
"Exactly! You can't beat the Young Master, so you take it out on us."
The Chu Family disciples looked miserable, on the verge of tears. They had only spoken the truth.
In reality, the Chu Wushuang of today was much more restrained.
Before Chu Feng appeared, Chu Wushuang had been incredibly arrogant, and he hadn't hesitated to beat them up for practice.
"I can't bully the Young Master, so I have to bully you," Chu Wushuang said before leading Chu Feng into the camp.
As soon as they walked in, Chu Feng saw a familiar face.
"Young Master!" a surprised voice called out.
It was Wang Hong.
"President Wang, you're here too?" Chu Feng greeted him with a smile.
Although Chu Feng hadn't interacted with Wang Hong much, he knew the man was competent and reliable.
That was why he had been the one to arrange for his own construction company to build the Chu Family's camp for the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony.
Though they were just prefabricated buildings, they were well-equipped with all sorts of amenities, making for a comfortable stay.
"Yes, I was in charge of constructing the camp here. I also came along with the Patriarch and the others to see the sights and broaden my horizons," Wang Hong said with a smile.
"Alright. We should have a drink sometime," Chu Feng said to Wang Hong.
"Of course. Young Master, please go on ahead. I won't keep you. The Patriarch and the Old Ancestor are waiting," Wang Hong said tactfully.
He knew Chu Feng had come to see Chu Tianshan and naturally didn't want to waste his time.
