My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 347: About to Begin

  • Next Chapter

Just like that, three days quickly passed.

Chu Feng was leisurely looking at his phone in his room. Although there was no internet, he could still read e-books.

"Venerable Chu, are you there? Someone is here to see you." Just as Chu Feng was getting engrossed in his reading, there was a sudden knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Chu Feng asked.

"It's someone from the Xixiang Chu Family," the person replied.

"Alright. Take them to the hall first. I'll be right there," Chu Feng said.

The Venerable Hall was usually empty. People only went there when there was business to attend to.

'They're finally here,' Chu Feng thought, turning off his phone and walking out.

Although he didn't really consider himself a member of the Chu Family, the fact remained that their blood flowed in his veins. Whether he acknowledged it or not, it was an undeniable truth.

Besides, the Chu Family had always treated him well.

When he arrived at the Venerable Hall, a young man was sitting there, looking very serious. It was obvious he was nervous and a little flustered, his eyes darting all around the room.

While this Venerable Hall wasn't as large as the central one, it was by no means small. After all, it housed four experts of the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm.

One had to understand, it was rare enough to encounter even a single expert of the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm, let alone four of them.

Chu Wushuang and Chu Wuqing were both very tense, as there was a Martial Arts Peak Realm expert sitting right next to them.

The feeling had them on pins and needles. Back in the Chu Family, it was difficult enough to even get a glimpse of their own Old Ancestor.

"Chu Wushuang!" Chu Feng called out as he walked in.

"Young Master!" Chu Wushuang and Chu Wuqing immediately hurried over and exclaimed.

Seeing Chu Feng, the two of them finally let out a sigh of relief.

"I've told you not to call me Young Master. Is everyone here?" Chu Feng asked.

"Yes, they're staying in the residences over there. The Old Ancestor sent me to find you," Chu Wushuang said.

"Alright, let's go then. Senior Sister Bai Han, I'll be taking my leave," Chu Feng said to Bai Han, who was also in the hall.

"The main assembly is about to begin. Try not to cause any more trouble," Bai Han said.

At that moment, Chu Wushuang and Chu Wuqing caught sight of Bai Han. Both of them froze instantly, their eyes filled with shock.

Beautiful!

So incredibly beautiful!

It was the first time they had ever seen such a stunningly beautiful woman.

Her beauty was indescribable, beyond all words.

At first, the two hadn't dared to even look up at Bai Han. She was a Martial Arts Peak expert, after all, and they were afraid of offending her.

But now that they knew she was familiar with Chu Feng, they both chanced a glance.

That one glance was all it took. They were completely captivated, unable to tear their eyes away.

SMACK!

Chu Feng smacked the two of them back to their senses.

"What are you staring at? You're completely mesmerized," Chu Feng said.

After getting smacked, the two finally snapped out of it, looking at Chu Feng with dazed expressions.

Chu Feng turned to Bai Han helplessly. "Senior Sister Bai Han, your charm is just too powerful. You should tone it down a bit in the future. Look at what you've done to them—you've practically stolen their souls," he said, exasperated.

"You can't blame me for that. I'm not some vixen, and I wasn't trying to seduce them. It just shows they lack self-control," Bai Han replied.

"Alright, enough talk. Let's go," Chu Feng said to Chu Wushuang and the other.

"Oh, right." Chu Wushuang and Chu Wuqing immediately scurried after Chu Feng and left.

It wasn't until they were outside, with the biting cold wind on their faces, that the two finally came to their senses.

"Young Master, that woman is incredible. Just one look and I was completely mesmerized," Chu Wushuang said, a lingering fear in his voice.

If Chu Feng hadn't smacked them, they probably still wouldn't have snapped out of it.

"Don't just fixate on her beauty. She's a Martial Arts Peak Realm expert. It's a good thing you know me. If you didn't, staring at her like that would have gotten you 'taken care of' a long time ago," Chu Feng said with a smile.

Hearing this, the two of them shuddered, their faces turning pale.

A wave of retrospective fear washed over them. If it weren't for Chu Feng, they would have kicked the bucket. It was like they'd just taken a stroll through the gates of hell and back.

"Where is the Chu Family staying?" Chu Feng asked.

"We're at the foot of the mountain, not on it. It's very difficult to build on the mountain itself, and there wasn't a suitable location. It would have required a huge amount of manpower and resources," Chu Wushuang explained.

The altitude here is too high for ordinary people to even climb. The work could only be handled by some of the family's own disciples.

"That makes sense. To build a camp here, you'd need to start at least a month in advance. You guys arrived a bit late," Chu Feng said.

Although the Chu Family only had three people participating in the competition this time, quite a few had come along—several dozen, in fact. All the ones with decent talent had been brought over.

The goal was to broaden their horizons and let them see that there are always stronger people out there, that there's always a higher mountain to climb.

Chu Tianshan himself was even leading the group this time, which surprised Chu Feng. The last he'd heard, that old fellow had been seriously injured, but now he seemed to be all better.
