My Kaiju Parasite Revived Me, But a Yandere Bought My Streaming Rights
Chapter 318: Twenty For Twenty
Room Nine gave the forty travelers one hour to decide which half stayed collateral.
Night Ground’s clock reset every thirty-six minutes.
The venue’s hour did not.
Its countdown continued through the sky fold while every local clock repeated 03:41.
Pavi asked who owned the hour.
```
PRIVATE VENUE STANDARD TIME.
```
"Then the deadline is yours, not ours."
The countdown remained.
The team refused to choose twenty holders.
Continuity proposed medical priority for release. Bera rejected being placed above a healthy resident merely because her breathing wash made a better public case.
Restoration proposed children and guardians first. One hotel child wanted release. The other wanted his current window and refused to make his guardian a permanent holder for it.
Sovereign Safety offered to buy five holder positions through corporate guarantees. Room Nine accepted the financial backing and still required living collateral holders.
Money could support the corridor. It could not give Black Grass a human continuity edge.
The residents negotiated among themselves.
Three people volunteered to hold for siblings.
Two offered one-year terms. The venue rejected every limit.
One resident offered current body collateral and no successor field. Rejected.
Four people who preferred their private addresses considered holding if they could choose five released strangers by lot. Others called the lot fair and cruel in equal measure.
The six blank-panel residents refused both holder and release selection. Room Nine kept their unallocated collateral in the default reserve.
No clean list reached twenty.
Nia Pell stood at Desk Twenty-Seven.
She had crossed among the nineteen household-lot residents after surviving the workshop collapse. Her spring ledger remained under one arm. A scar from the broken lintel ran across her scalp.
Her younger brother Daro stood at Desk Twenty-Eight.
Daro had been marked repeated destabilization after refusing the clock-line duty assigned when Nia left Night Ground. He accepted the corridor because his alternative was inheriting her empty workshop shift and a clock route he had never chosen.
Nia had taught him clock springs when he was six. Daro hated the work and kept losing the smallest coils in his sleeves. At twelve, he asked for door-line training. The clock family refused because Nia’s workshop assignment had already reduced Pell capacity.
After the workshop collapse, Nia carried Omi Quill’s spring ledger out. Daro was ordered to fill her old archive shifts before both bodies had been recovered.
Neither sibling treated that assignment as a debt Nia created. Night Ground’s ledger did.
Neither had selected a private address.
They slept on opposite sides of the receiving hall’s flour table.
Nia told Room Nine, "I accept current holder status. Release Daro. No successor field."
```
INCOMPLETE OFFER.
HOLDER STABILITY REQUIRES SUCCESSION.
```
"I do not have children."
```
PROJECTED FIELD AVAILABLE.
```
"Not yours."
The countdown lost eleven minutes during their exchange.
Daro told Nia to stop.
"I did not ask you."
"You asked to leave Night Ground before I did."
"And I got the lot."
"That was not a debt."
"No. This is an offer."
Pavi asked Nia whether she wanted anyone to block the current holder part.
"No."
"Do you accept restrictions on where you can move?"
"Yes. River apartment or hotel. Private routes. No public exit until replacement."
"Do you accept a person not here inheriting it?"
"No."
Room Nine heard one usable yes and one unusable no.
It combined them.
```
CURRENT SACRIFICE DEMONSTRATES
SUCCESSION-LEVEL STABILITY.
```
"It demonstrates she loves her brother," Sefa said. "That does not make a future person stable."
```
WILLINGNESS TO BEAR COST FOR ANOTHER
PREDICTS CONTINUITY BEHAVIOR.
```
Farah searched Kim’s seized Archive Eight copy.
The phrase appeared in a subscriber release function.
High-paying viewers could cancel another viewer’s penalty by accepting a longer rights term. The system ranked sacrifice as proof the payer would remain attached and used that rank to price projected household value.
Kim’s name appeared on the function approval.
Her next line was twenty-two minutes away.
Nia kept her current offer open.
Daro refused release under successor terms.
"That is my hearing," Nia said.
"The released slot is mine."
"I choose who it frees."
"I can refuse being freed by that."
Room Nine agreed with Daro.
A released traveler had to accept release. The venue would not waste stable collateral on an unwanted remedy.
Nia swore at it for being correct.
Other negotiations moved.
Bera offered current clinic holder status to release the hotel guardian, who could then choose public housing with both children. Bera refused successor terms. Rejected.
The battery worker offered five years. Rejected.
One married pair offered one permanent holder between them and asked the other released. Both tried to be the holder. Their argument ended when neither accepted choosing which projected descendants inherited the field.
Four private-address residents accepted full terms.
They selected four relatives for release. Three relatives accepted. One refused and asked them to choose Pavi.
The first holder chose his mother. Her hotel desk lost every successor field and gained a public exit. She crossed the red line into a Cairo street while her son watched through Room Nine.
The second released a cousin who had refused future questions. His blank collateral panel went dark without forcing him to answer it.
The third released a former water partner rather than family. The venue accepted current choice and no kinship requirement.
The fourth selected a brother who refused. That holder position remained accepted, but no release credit was spent until another traveler agreed.
Pavi refused the slot.
"I do not take a public exit bought by a stranger’s unborn field."
The volunteer answered, "I want the contract. You do not get to make my choice dirtier so yours stays clean."
Pavi looked at the working room behind his desk.
"Would you hold if nobody were released?"
"Yes."
"Then your current holder choice is yours. The successor claim still is not."
She accepted no release and stopped calling his current contract sacrifice.
The venue counted four stable holders and three released travelers.
It did not require all twenty at once.
Each accepted pair hardened one section of the reserve.
Black Grass struck during the fifth negotiation.
A blade appeared beneath Desk Twelve and moved toward the open Night Ground wall. The four stable holders’ contract lines brightened. The blade split across them and stopped before reaching the hearing floor.
Their current choice protected everyone in the room.
Their projected fields brightened too.
The holders felt the strike.
One apartment resident lost the relation between his left shoe and the floor for three seconds. Another saw her private room door open onto Night Ground’s dry basin. The first holder’s forearm developed four black lines that stopped at his contract band.
No projected child cried. No future body took the wound. The probability fields supplied route mass, while current holders absorbed the physical edge.
The three released travelers remained outside the strike. Their public exits stayed open.
The bargain had protected them and moved harm into people who accepted current holder status. It also claimed that current acceptance proved unborn continuity.
Iseul recorded every holder injury. Room Nine classified them as successful reserve operation and offered medical support through the same private routes.
Nia watched the defense work.
"If I accept all terms, Daro can still refuse release?"
```
YES.
```
"Then I accept current holder and contest successor. Do not combine them."
Room Nine marked the offer incomplete again.
Daro asked Nia one final time whether she would accept if he chose release.
"Current holder, yes," she said. "Future people, no."
"The venue will take both."
"Then my yes is still current and its theft is still theft."
Daro did not accept release yet. He kept her offer from becoming a noble story with no one arguing back.
Kim’s permitted line opened at the clinic.
Farah showed her the phrase and allowed one factual answer.
Kim wrote:
```
I DESIGNED SACRIFICIAL STABILITY. I USED PEOPLE PAYING FOR SOMEONE ELSE AS PROOF THEIR RIGHTS TERM COULD BE EXTENDED. THE WOMAN’S CORRIDOR ROOT IS MY FUNCTION WITH SUCCESSOR ROUTING ADDED.
```
The root identifier appeared beneath her statement.
It matched the code holding all forty desks together.
