My Child and I Married a Billionaire
Chapter 440: Watching a Dogfight
The voice startled her. She spun around, only to see it was him again—her cousin-uncle, the ghost who wouldn’t leave her alone.
"You little brat, I had a feeling you might be home today. And look at that, I was right. You’re coming with me!"
He wasn’t in his delivery driver’s uniform, so he must not have been working. The tone he used with Amina filled her with disgust and fear, and she quickly wrenched her arm free.
"Are you insane? Why are you here again? Don’t touch me!"
The cousin-uncle looked completely self-righteous.
"What do you think I’m here for? You still haven’t paid your debt to me! I told you, I’m not letting you off the hook! If you don’t give me what I want, I’ll pester you for the rest of your life! If you don’t want to cause a scene, and you don’t want your grandma finding out, then you’ll quietly come with me. Get over here!"
As he spoke, he tried to grab Amina again, but she quickly darted aside.
"I’m not going with you, so you can forget it! If your wife finds out about this, she won’t forgive you either! Get lost! Or I’m calling the police!"
The cousin-uncle wasn’t fazed in the slightest. In fact, he just chuckled sinisterly.
"The police? I bet you still don’t know what’s happened to your brothers. You think they can take that money, go back to town, and live the good life? In your dreams! As long as I decide you don’t get to live well, you never will!"
Amina’s brow furrowed. "What do you mean? What did you do to my brothers?"
The cousin-uncle gloated.
"Have you forgotten what Tim Tate’s mom said? If you don’t pay back the money you owe, they won’t spare your family. Well, they’re already making their move. And as for those two idiot brothers of yours..."
He hadn’t even finished his sentence, but an image of her brothers being cheated had already flashed through Amina’s mind.
"AHH!" Amina couldn’t stand this relentless piece of trash anymore and screamed, losing control.
"What will it take to make you stop? Don’t you have a conscience?"
Seeing her lose control only made the cousin-uncle more smug.
"Haven’t I made myself perfectly clear? Just come with me, let me have my fun, and I can solve everything for you. But if you don’t listen... Amina, you were destined to be mine. Stop struggling. The sooner you give in to me, the sooner it’s over, and everything will be great for everyone. If your refusal ends up ruining your two brothers’ lives, won’t you feel bad for them?"
Amina didn’t dare to imagine it.
’If this scum doesn’t let me go, and if my two scoundrel brothers come looking for me again, what kind of hell will I be dragged into?’
’Life feels so hopeless.’
’Why am I so unlucky? Don’t I even deserve to live a normal life?’
’I want to cry. I feel so powerless.’
For the first time in her life, she screamed like a madwoman.
"Stop pushing me! Push me any further and I’ll kill myself, I swear I will! I mean it! I’d rather die than be with you! You disgust me! Don’t talk to me! Just don’t talk to me!"
Her cousin-uncle stared at her, his expression unchanged, completely unfazed by her threats.
"Then go on, kill yourself. The only way I’ll stop thinking about you is if you’re dead. Otherwise, it’s impossible."
He even licked his lips as he spoke.
"There’s no need for that, Amina. Are you stupid? I’ve already booked a room. Just think, all you have to do is sleep with me once, and all your problems will vanish. I can even guarantee you a life of wealth and luxury in the future. Why make things so hard for yourself? Come on, be a good girl. A girl will only..."
He reached for her again.
Amina was trembling with rage. ’If I had a knife right now, I’d charge him and fight him to the death.’
’I really don’t want to live anymore. I’m so sick of it all.’
’This trash... this garbage that I can never seem to escape... I’ve had enough of them!’
Just as Amina was contemplating fighting him to the death, her cousin-uncle’s legs suddenly buckled. A car had struck him from behind, sending him flying.
The car hadn’t been going fast. Though he was knocked to the ground, he wasn’t seriously injured. The cousin-uncle quickly scrambled up and turned to roar at the car.
"Who was that?! Who the fuck is so blind they just hit me? If you don’t know how to drive, then don’t! Are you fucking asking for a death wish?"
Faye Fisher stepped out of the car, wearing sunglasses and an elegant black dress, her expression cold.
"Say one more foul word, I dare you. I’ll run you right over, see if I don’t. A man your age, who looks like a toad, actually has the gall to harass a young girl? I could run you over and not face any legal repercussions. I’d just be ridding the world of a pest."
"You!"
The cousin-uncle glanced at the luxury car’s logo, then at Faye Fisher’s imposing presence, and finally swallowed the curses he was about to spit out.
He stared at Amina in disbelief.
"You know her?"
Before Amina could speak, Faye Fisher walked over and took her hand.
"I don’t just know her; my husband knows her, and everyone in our family knows her. Amina is our good friend. Just you try bothering her again."
"You... You are..."
"You don’t deserve to know who I am. Hitting you with my car today was just a small warning. If you dare to harass her again, you won’t even know how you died. Now, get lost!"
The aura of wealth that clung to her, evident from the luxury car and her expensive tastes, intimidated the cousin-uncle.
He didn’t know how Amina managed to meet so many influential people, but it was obvious this wasn’t the right time to press the issue. Frustrated but defeated, he scurried away.
Watching his retreating back, Amina finally broke, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Faye Fisher held her hand, her heart filling with sympathy as she looked at Amina’s helpless expression.
"Don’t cry. I have plenty of ways to deal with trash like him. He won’t harass you again, you can rest assured. First, let’s take your grandma to the doctor."
Faye Fisher enthusiastically followed Amina upstairs to get her grandma.
Although her grandma wondered where Amina had met such a rich friend and was reluctant to waste money at the hospital, she couldn’t win against Faye Fisher’s insistence. In the end, she went along.
On the way, Faye Fisher called Brandon Jacobs. He, in turn, spoke with the hospital director. The renowned head of the ophthalmology department personally saw them. It turned out her grandma just had simple glaucoma. The doctor said surgery would significantly improve her condition and that he would schedule it as soon as possible.
Faye Fisher settled Grandma into a hospital room, then pulled Amina out into the hallway.
"Don’t worry about the money. Glaucoma surgery is a minor procedure, it won’t cost much. Now, let’s talk about that piece of trash. Tell me everything."
Amina didn’t want to be a bother, but Faye Fisher insisted on helping, so Amina told her the situation from beginning to end.
After hearing the whole story, Faye Fisher gave a cold laugh.
"I knew it. Just a simple-minded brute. Dealing with him won’t even require me to lift a finger. Now, you listen to me. I guarantee that in less than two weeks, I’ll have his entire life in ruins."
As much as Amina hated her cousin-uncle and wished he would just drop dead, she didn’t have the courage to do anything illegal herself.
Faye Fisher looked into her innocent eyes and smiled.
"Why would I ever risk my reputation by breaking the law for scum like him? He’s not worth it. All I need from you is his phone number. And his wife’s. We’ll launch a two-pronged attack, destroy the enemy from within, and let them tear each other apart. We can just sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight."
"Actually, calling it a tiger fight gives him too much credit. This will be more like watching dogs fight. Just wait, it’s going to be a good show."
