Chapter 941: Vampire Army’s Departure

Chapter 941: Vampire Army’s Departure

The leaders of the allied forces from the Vampire Kingdom, the Succubus Kingdom, and the Werewolf Kingdom marched forward as soon as the gates were opened.

The citizens poured out of their homes to witness the procession, their eyes filled with hope, their hearts pounding at the sight of powerful warriors marching through the streets.

It was a scene that no one would forget for the rest of their lives—a moment they would recount in stories for generations to come.

The air was heavy with tension, and the sound of clinking armor echoed throughout the streets as the warriors advanced, their powerful auras clearly felt by everyone present.

Emperor Rhex and Empress Varia welcomed the leaders of the allied forces into the palace, while Yuan stood nearby, silently observing the exchange.

His presence was almost imperceptible, as if he did not exist at all. Without saying a word, he followed them inside.

Inside the palace, the leaders of the nations began discussing battle strategies against the approaching army of the undead.

Given the overwhelming number of undead, they needed a plan to reduce their forces as quickly as possible, as even the combined armies of the allied nations were vastly outnumbered.

Without a solid strategy, this war would be impossible to win. This placed the allied forces in a difficult position, as they had to overcome their numerical disadvantage—especially since the undead were nearly immortal unless burned to ashes or their cores were destroyed.

This would be an extremely difficult battle, considering both the sheer number of the undead and their near-immortality unless completely annihilated.

Flames were their greatest weakness, but against such an enormous army, even fire alone would not be enough. Those who had awakened elemental affinities, especially fire, would hold a significant advantage.

Thus, they formed a special unit composed of individuals with elemental powers—particularly those who could wield flames. These warriors would be capable of engaging multiple enemies at once and destroying them efficiently.

The discussion continued for more than two hours before finally concluding. The allied forces would soon march toward the border to support the soldiers already stationed there.

Now, Emperor Rhex had only a few hours left to rest before he too would depart for the battlefield, while Empress Varia remained visibly concerned about his condition.

After the leaders of the allied forces returned to their carriages, Emperor Rhex noticed that Yuan was still present in the room.

“Yuan, why haven’t I seen my sister yet? Where is she?” He asked.

He had wanted to ask this ever since he first saw Yuan, but without the opportunity earlier, he had held back.

Now that the leaders had left, he finally voiced his concern, as Nerith’s presence—alongside Countess Isolde—was crucial for the war.

“You don’t need to worry about Nerith. She will be at the border when the time comes… and we will be there as well,” Yuan replied calmly.

However, Emperor Rhex still appeared uneasy, a hint of confusion lingering in his expression. Not knowing where his sister was made him restless.

Unsatisfied with Yuan’s answer, he pressed further, “Where is she right now? Is she training somewhere I don’t know about?”

“You can think of it that way. Don’t worry too much—I can assure you that when she returns, she will be ten times stronger than before.” Yuan replied with a confident smile.

The Emperor studied Yuan’s expression carefully, searching for any sign of deception. However, Yuan’s calm confidence showed no trace of a lie.

Seeing this, Emperor Rhex finally felt a bit of relief and let out a quiet breath.

“Since you are the one saying this, I’ll trust your words,” Emperor Rhex said after a brief pause, then added, “Also, tell her to head to the border as soon as possible.”

“Don’t worry. We will be there on time,” Yuan replied with a confident smile before leaving the room, leaving him alone.

Once Yuan left, Emperor Rhex headed to his bedroom to take a short rest before departure. He was barely able to stay awake at this point, and even simple actions like walking were becoming difficult for him.

“Dear, I’ll rest for a few hours. Wake me up before sunrise.” He said to his wife as soon as he entered the room and lay down on the bed.

He didn’t even bother changing his clothes, and the moment his body touched the bed, his eyes closed on their own as he fell into a deep sleep.

“It must be exhausting for you to manage everything, isn’t it, dear?” Empress Varia said softly, her tone filled with concern. “Get some proper rest… once the war begins, who knows when you’ll have the chance again?”

With a gentle yet worried smile, she reached out and lightly touched his face, unable to suppress her concern for the uncertain future ahead.

The Vampire Kingdom’s army was ready to march toward the border. Since they could not move under the sun, they had to travel during the night.

“King Evander, are you prepared to lead your troops?” Lilith, the Queen of the Succubi, asked.

“I am ready. I may be able to tolerate the sunlight, but my soldiers cannot. This is the ideal time for us to move toward the border and establish our camps.” King Evander replied, his expression serious as he gazed at the night sky.

“Indeed. The sun is your kind’s weakness,” Lilith muttered quietly.

King Vargan stepped into the conversation and said, “In that case, you should not delay any further. The situation at the border is worsening—you must take command until we arrive.”

“Leave it to me,” the Vampire King nodded solemnly. “We will depart now, but don’t be late.”

“I’m well aware. You don’t need to remind me,” King Vargan replied with a slightly irritated expression before entering his carriage to rest.

Lilith also returned to her carriage to take a brief rest, as they would depart as soon as daylight arrived.

King Evander gathered his troops together. The vampire soldiers stood in perfect formation, their heads held high as they prepared for what lay ahead.

Standing before thousands of soldiers, King Evander spoke loudly, “We will march toward the border now. The situation there is becoming increasingly critical, and we must ensure it does not spiral out of control.”

“We must prevent the undead from crossing the border until the allied forces arrive. This means we will take command and hold them back at all costs.”

“And remember this well… the enemy we face is not something to underestimate. A single mistake could cost us our lives. Fight with caution so that we may all return to our families and loved ones.”

King Evander’s voice echoed across the entire formation, reaching every soldier clearly.

“Understood!” The vampire soldiers responded in unison, their voices thunderous.

With that, the vampires spread their hidden wings and soared into the night sky, heading toward the border under their king’s command.

At the border, soldiers continuously fired arrows at the ever-growing horde of undead. The tips of their arrows were lit with flames before being launched from their bows.

Although this method was somewhat effective, it could not compare to the destructive power of those who had awakened their elemental abilities.

Most of the awakened soldiers were currently resting, exhausted from prolonged combat. Their Qi had been depleted and required time to recover.

“Captain! It’s urgent! A large number of undead are approaching from that direction!” A soldier rushed toward the captain of the border defense unit, pointing into the distance.

“W-What in the world…” The captain’s voice faltered as he looked toward the direction being indicated.

A massive horde of undead was advancing—more than five thousand. Among them were mounted undead creatures, clearly far more dangerous than ordinary undead monsters.

Even though they were still far away, every soldier stationed at the border could feel the intense, deathly aura emanating from the approaching undead.

“Uhh… Captain… what should we do…?” One of the soldiers asked in a trembling voice, his legs shaking with fear.

“What else? We defend the border—even at the cost of our lives! If they breach this line, nothing will remain on this continent!” The captain shouted, his voice reaching every soldier present.

No matter what fear he felt deep inside, he had to remain resolute. He needed to inspire the others and strengthen their will to fight.

“Go and inform the others immediately. We must hold the line until the allied forces arrive.” The captain of the border patrol ordered firmly.

“Now fire at those damned undead and take them down before their reinforcements arrive!” He issued another command without hesitation after sending a messenger.

Immediately, thousands of arrows were released into the sky, raining down upon the undead forces advancing on the other side of the border.

The towering wall that separated the desert served as the only barrier preventing the undead from crossing into their land.

This height advantage also allowed the soldiers to rain down attacks from above while giving them brief moments of respite between waves.

Hundreds of undead were reduced to ashes, and the number continued to rise as volleys of flaming arrows struck relentlessly.

After nearly an hour of continuous assault, every undead near the wall had been eradicated—not even fragments of bone remained, only scattered ash.

“Captain! The commander has arrived!” A soldier shouted from afar.

“It seems the undead near the wall have been cleared. You’ve done well.” The commander said as he stepped onto the top of the border wall.

“Unfortunately, the situation is only getting worse… Look ahead. A massive number of undead are approaching. They will reach us within ten minutes.” The captain replied with a grim expression, his voice heavy with concern.
